Chapter 11 - Chapter 27: Return of the King

At Shadow Island, Mike's ship descended into the cave's clearing. His eyes scanned the battlefield–the place where his father, Grok, was once held. The dead bodies of his soldiers can be seen. Before Mike rushed to Grok's room, a soldier came forward. "Sir, Zara's gone. Someone took her. No CCTV footage, just some footprints." Before Mike could react, another soldier held out a tablet. "Sir, you need to see this."

Mike's face turned pale as he watched Siddik standing under Spiral Island's main tower, the wind whipping his coat. The live feed crackled with tension as Siddik stared directly into the camera. Mike's eyes broadened when he saw Grok's head in Siddik's hand.

"This man… Elian Grovius, also known as Grok. A symbol of fear. A monster. A leader of death.

Now? Just meat.

To those hiding in the shadows, poisoning Spiral Island in my absence–

I'm waiting.

Come fight me. Or run. But know this:

Fifty percent of you are already dead.

The rest? I will take care of them.

Remember one thing:

If you want war against me, I will definitely give you death."

Crowds across the world erupted in cheers. But not everyone. Some were calling him the savior, some were calling dictator.

Back in the cave, Mike trembled. Another soldier pointed toward the rock ceiling–there, hanging from a rope, was Grok's headless corpse.

Mike stepped forward, his fists clenched. "I just got him back after six damn years… and Siddik took him again. I couldn't see him; I couldn't get his love for that monster. I would have killed that smug monster a long time before, but he always stopped me from doing this. Now he is gone. Who will save you from me, Siddik?"

Mike turned eyes wild with fury. "Get ready. We're burning Spiral to the ground."

A soldier whispered, "Sir, I heard his family is alive. They live somewhere in Italy. Should we?"

Mike smiles and says, "Bring them alive. Let them see what their son has become before I crush his empire."

Nafisa walks down a long corridor lit by flickering bulbs. She enters a war room. A soldier comes forward. "Ma'am, Siddik captured them and locked them. What should we do?"

Nafisa says coldly, "We negotiate first. If he agrees with us, we return. If not, we fight."

Five figures stand at attention. General Najmul comes forward to Nafisa. "They are ready. And America, Russia, China, and some other countries are sending their soldiers and weapons. They want to be with the HUNTERS in the fight."

A dusty Spiral Island photo lies on the table – one of her and Siddik, smiling. She glances at it briefly and then turns to face her new team.

Nafisa firmly says, "This isn't about revenge. This is about stopping a man who forgot who he used to be. Maybe he is stronger than us, maybe he has a big army. But we are united, and he is alone. The world will smile again."

Each hero steps forward:

Elita – Former Spiral drone engineer, betrayed and exiled.

Aadi – Brawler from Turkish outpost, abandoned in war by Tayeb.

Reiha – Ex-peace negotiator turned sniper; Spiral peace talks failed her.

Safwan – Tracker, medic, survivor of the South Lab Massacre.

Zakaria – Once Siddik's security head. Turned against him after the Black Spire Conquest. He watched Siddik fight through 210 enemies like an animal — no mercy, no survivors."

Nafisa: "We're not here to destroy Spiral. Just the man who thinks he is the one. We strike when the help arrives."

General Najmul corners Nafisa.

Najmul: "Are you sure? You are fighting and leading them alone?"

Nafisa: "So what? You know my father died in the army as a soldier. If I get back today, he will never forgive me. And Fakhrul Sir, he always cared for me like his own small sister. I have to bring him back."

Najmul: "But will you be able to fight him? I know you have a deep feeling for him."

Nafisa: "Everything fair in love and war, Sir. Love ends, and the war begins."

Najmul: "What will you do if you two meet face to face?"

Nafisa: "Are you testing me? Note that the first strike will go from my end."

In the meantime, Mike arrives, flanked by his elite soldiers. Weapons are drawn instantly.

Mike: "Relax! Relax! I have come to offer you something."

Nafisa (icy): "And your introduction?"

Mike: "Mike Grovius. Son of Elian Grovius. Prince of Shadow Island."

Nafisa: Your father started all this."

Mike: "Siddik ended him. That makes even now. Your enemy and my enemy are one. What about we stand together?"

Reiha: "Why help us?"

Mike: "Because we can't do it alone."

Nafisa: "We won't kill him. We are here just to break him. If we are okay with this, you can join us. Otherwise, the door is open."

Mike: "Right, Nafisa. Let's shake hands."

They shake each other's hands.

Siddik stands beside Musa, watching battlefield simulations. They were talking in sign language.

Musa: "Why didn't you contact me?"

Siddik:" I wanted to keep you safe."

Musa: "Then why now?"

Siddik: "Mike killed the Spiral Crown army himself. Our army is on its way, so is the war."

Musa: "Then we have to bring the reserve army."

Siddik: "Yes, bring them and prepare them. They have started marching. They will be here in the evening, I hope."

Musa leaves the room. Siddik makes a call to his brother Hasan. "Brother, I have mailed you the names and details of the new rebels who are secretly working against us."

Hasan asks simply, "What do we do?" "Finish each of them. Destroy what you get. Just remember one thing: if any of them survives today, they will be the most dangerous beings." Hasan replies, "Should I go out now?" Siddik says, "Yes, and can I talk to mother?" Hasan replies, "Obviously. Here, talk to mother." Hasan gives the phone to his mother.

Siddik: "Mother, how are you?"

The former Queen: "Si…Siddik? Where are you, my son?"

Siddik: "I am at the place where you last saw me."

The former Queen: "Siddik, come home. Just leave everything. I want you to be safe. I want you to be here."

Siddik: "Mother, a coward is not your son. I never left a war. Just pray for me. Soon, we will meet and live together."

The former King enters the room. Hasan and the former Queen remain silent. The King takes the phone from the Queen.

The former King: "Siddik."

Siddik: "Fa…Father. How are you?"

The former King: "Good. Where is the war?"

Siddik: "On its way."

The former King: "Show them what I raised, how I raised my son. Show them the King of War version of yours. Prove to them that you are the only one. I want my Spiral Island back, whatever it costs."

Siddik (voice sharp and hard): "Yes, Father. Just pray for me."

Siddik cuts the call. In the meantime, Tayeb enters the room.

Tayeb: "Rafiq is stable."

They head to the medical wing. Rafiq, pale and wounded, slowly opens his eyes.

Siddik: "Talk to me, Rafiq."

Rafiq (weakly): "Mike's army… human shields with shields, coordinated zombie flanks. They were precise. Merciless."

Siddik places a hand on his shoulder.

Siddik: "They touched you. That's enough reason for me. I'll wipe them all like they never existed."

A doctor and Rafi enter.

Doctor: "Zara has woken up. But she is still weak, Sir."

Siddik rushes to her room. Zara blinks, disoriented.

Zara: "Why am I here?"

Siddik (softly): "I brought you here. You were being used as bait."

Zara didn't reply. Her eyes drifted, unsure.

Siddik: "Come, someone is waiting for you."

The steel doors hissed open. Siddik walked in, flanked by Zara and Tayeb. Fakhrul and Hridoy looked up from the floor where they were chained. Without a word, Siddik unlocked their shackles and threw the keys aside.

Zara rushed to Fakhrul and embraced him tightly, relief in her eyes. Hridoy stood slowly, suspicious.

"Why now?" he asked.

Siddik didn't blink. "You want answers? I'll give you one."

Fakhrul crossed his arms. "We've seen what you've become. But not why."

Zara stood beside Tayeb and looked Siddik in the eye. "Tell us the truth. About you, about this island. Why does everything here feel cursed?"

Siddik turned his back to them, looking at the concrete walls around the cell.

Siddik's voice lowered, heavy with memory. "Spiral Island… wasn't always what it is now," he began. "It was once an isolated land in the southern ocean — untouched by empire, untamed by war."

The others leaned closer. The room grew quiet.

"For centuries, a noble bloodline ruled it — silent, powerful. The land was rich with gold, diamonds, and resources beyond measure. Every empire tried to claim it. Every army failed. The island remained undefeated, ruled by a man known only as The Noble. No one ever saw his face… only his power."

Hridoy frowned. "You mean… he was real?"

Siddik nodded slowly. "Too real. But when he died, he left no heir. His two sons turned the paradise into a battlefield. They split the island into thirteen pieces. People starved. Families burned. And for the first time in history… the people executed the royal bloodline."

The silence in the room deepened.

"Then came my great-grandfather," Siddik continued. "He was close to the nobleman, and he was also a favorite of the people of the island. He built something new out of the ashes — the Spiral Crown. Not a throne of gold, but a symbol of unity. He turned the island into a fortress of innovation and power. No empire dared look at it again."

Zara whispered, "That's how your family became the royals."

"Yes." Siddik's gaze dropped. "But peace never lasts. My grandfather ruled next. His brother led the Spiral Crown. When his brother died without an heir, the Crown turned against the throne. My grandfather fought them — the Second Civil War. He won, but the Crown never disappeared. They just hid… and waited."

"Until your father's time," Hridoy said quietly.

Siddik nodded. "My grandfather named my father king, not his other son. That decision destroyed everything. My uncle left in anger — vanished with his wife. My grandfather told my father that the Crown would rise again after his death." He paused and then sighed. "And he was right."

"They rose again?" Fakhrul asked.

"Yes. My father, my brother, and Musa's father fought them together. They defeated the Spiral Crown once more. But they didn't end — they evolved. They spread beyond the island, gathering strength, allies, and support from those who feared us."

He stood up, his tone low and steady. "Now the world calls Spiral Island a myth. But those who know the truth…"

Siddik looked at each of them, his eyes hard.

"They call it the lost and untouchable kingdom."

Suddenly, Musa and Rafi rush to them.

Rafi: "They have arrived at the south gate. And bad news for us, Siddik."

Siddik: "What is it?"

Rafi: "The HUNTERS joined Mike. Nafisa is leading them from the front."

Siddik (in sign language): "Musa, tell them to be prepared. The war is knocking on the door."

Musa (in sign language): "Another bad news is that Mike has sent his army to Italy."

Siddik (turning to Rafi): Get what you need. Leave for Italy now. Whoever gets close to them, finish him off. It's an order."

Fakhrul: "Who lives in Italy?"

Siddik: "My family. Now you tell me what I should do to Nafisa?"

Fakhrul: "She can't do it. We can talk with her."

Siddik: "No talks. Words are finished. Now I strike. I won't hesitate now."

Hridoy: "You can't hurt her. You love her, I know."

Siddik (smiles): "She gave me courage when I was low, now I use it against her."

Rafiq enters the cell room.

Rafiq: "I'm ready."

Siddik: "No, Rafiq. You stay with them here and protect them. They are our friends."

Siddik steps forward to Fakhrul. "If she forgets about love, then why not me? Today, either I stand, or they. And don't panic, the story hasn't started yet."

Siddik leaves the room.

Outside the island walls – Mike, Nafisa, and the new HUNTERS – stare at Spiral Island's towering gates.

Mike (coldly): "We should break it."

Nafisa: "No. We don't fight first. Let's see what he does."

In Siddik's personal room, he opens his cupboard and picks up his old war outfit after 8 years. "It's time to forget about relations. Now I have to become the one they want to see."
