Chapter 116 - Chapter 117: Take the Shot, Lady Sakura!

Jillringom was baffled. By all logic, the MMA he'd conjured from the Nightmare Cavern should've been her deepest fear.

But what kind of nightmare is yourself in a pink princess dress?!

And was this really her fear? The girl was so chill she'd fallen asleep with her eyes closed!

"Hey! Show some respect!"

"Go on, torment her!" he snarled, scratching his head in frustration.

But the MMA just sat there like it was offline, ignoring every command, every surge of killing intent he pumped into it.

"Useless trash!"

Jillringom raised his hand at the pink-dress Sakura and tried to yank his power back.

Recall… recall… RECALL!

Nothing. The nightmare construct was glitched—locked in his ability count but refusing orders.

"Report: Soul-space analysis complete. Demon Blood awakening initiated!"

BOOM!

The dreamscape ripped open. A crimson pillar of light—hot enough to melt steel—crashed down from the sky.

It poured over the sleeping Sakura. The MMA Jillringom had shaped melted and flowed into her body.

The girl's eyes snapped open—blood-red.

Storm. Thunder. Earthquakes. Cold rain. Fog. Natural disasters exploded across the dream.

The fog churned. A silhouette emerged.

A mountain-sized figure straightened. Unimaginable power roared into existence as silver-white horns formed.

"Why?! How do you still have this much power in a dream?! This isn't fair!"

Every cell in Jillringom's body screamed danger. His Observation Haki was blinded by black lightning in the void.

Seeing the monster before him—worse than anything he'd faced—he finally got why his boss was obsessed with Elbaf.

Freaking giants. Once they're on, they never turn off.

Face pale, Jillringom frantically fused dozens of Nightmare Caverns, spawning a wall of monsters in front of him.

Before him, the demon raised a colossal sword forged from storm. Black Armament Haki coated the blade, humming with destructive force.

Legendary Spear of Light unleashed.

"Report: Elbaf Spear – Conqueror's Kingdom!"

A spiraling shockwave of endless light and heat erupted, flames and pressure weaving together, leaving trails of annihilation.

The sky-spanning spear became a curtain of death, descending on Jillringom and his monster legion.

In the final moment before being swallowed, a desperate thought flashed:

Does surrender count as half a loss?

BOOM!

The triple-layered dream finally shattered under the aftershock.

From the countless bursting bubbles rose liberated souls—free to choose their own path forward.

Sunlight Island – Edge of El Shah Kingdom, on the beach.

Sakura shivered and opened her eyes. A world full of color greeted her—beautiful, vibrant.

"Back?"

She sat up. Little Leviathan leaped into her arms.

Telly Gildeo and Barney Joe were curled up together, sleeping like babies.

"Hey, wake up, you two!"

Sakura stood, checked them over—weak but unharmed—and shook them awake.

"Nngh…"

Barney Joe, the tougher one, groaned first.

"Feels like I had the longest dream…"

Telly scratched his head, blinking awake.

Sakura shook Leviathan awake, set her on her shoulder, and filled the two in.

"Whoa… all that happened? I was just… asleep?" Barney clutched his head. "I didn't even keep my mind in there!"

Telly smacked the back of Barney's head. "Focus! We came here to rescue someone!"

"Did you guys pick up your teammate's location?" Sakura asked.

Barney stood, brushing sand off. "Yeah. Signal came from the palace in the kingdom!"

"Then let's move!"

Sakura took the lead, heading toward the last remnants of El Shah on the island.

The streets were ruins. Dark red bloodstains soaked deep into the stone—testimony to the brutality that had unfolded.

Neat buildings, long abandoned, cracked and overgrown with vines. Skyscrapers lay toppled.

The palace at the center? Charred husk. Burn marks everywhere. Anything valuable had been looted clean by hyenas.

But in the middle of the empty wreckage stood a two-person-tall incubation pod.

Cables snaked across the ground. Two figures in glass helmets lay slumped nearby.

"C-Celestial Dragons…!"

Barney swallowed hard, sweat beading on his forehead.

He'd steeled himself to fight them, but actually facing them? Terror crept in.

But when he saw Sakura charge forward without hesitation, the Revolutionary soldier gripped his gun and followed.

As Sakura rushed in, Marcus Dorian on the ground was starting to stir.

As one of the dream's cornerstones, the collapse had hit him hardest. His body was frail.

His hazy eyes focused on Sakura's face—veins bulged on his forehead. "You filth—"

His words were cut short by the shunk of a blade piercing flesh.

An ice-thin rapier ran straight through his chest. God's blood dripped from the tip.

"Your blood's red too," Sakura said coldly, sword in hand. "Doesn't look very noble. And this time—no resurrection, right?"

Blood poured from his mouth and nose. Marcus gave one last twisted grin. "I'll… be waiting… in hell."

Sakura yanked the sword free. He collapsed. A pool of blood spread, painting the scorched earth vivid.

"Miss Sakura… i-is this really okay?" the two Revolutionaries stepped forward, uneasy with what looked like pointless killing.

"Don't care," Sakura snapped, green eyes blazing with rage. Conqueror's Haki flared, shoving them back. "I'll deal with the World Government."

She pressed a hand to her stomach. Chakra flowed into her soul.

Ninja Art: Four Symbols Seal – Release.

A sealed consciousness shot out from her soul and slammed back into its body.

Emerging from the darkness, Manmaya Miria took in the chaos and smirked. "So you came to kill me, sweetheart~"

"At least you know your place."

Sakura stepped forward, bloodied blade raised.

"No," Miria said confidently, "you won't."

She ripped open her shirt, revealing a glowing orb embedded in her chest.

Sakura's Observation Haki picked up the aura of every soul in El Shah inside it.

"You…"

"Pretty cool, huh?"

Seeing Sakura's sword tip drop, Miria twirled happily, laughing like silver bells.

Behind her, countless blocks of ice rose—each trapping a citizen of El Shah.

"They all died three years ago in the hunting games. I kept them alive as souls! Feel their presence?"

Dancing lightly, Miria grabbed Sakura's hand and pressed it to her chest.

The blue-haired girl's eyes sparkled with curiosity. She wanted to see—what would this girl, who'd kept her humanity and mind intact, choose between killing and saving?

Even if it cost her own life.

"So, my sweetheart… what will you choose?"

But behind Miria, unnoticed—

The countless souls standing on this land…

…glared at her with hatred.

"So… I really died?"

Orange-haired Helmord looked down at his translucent body.

He took a deep breath, turned, and met the eyes of every soul behind him. Not one looked away.

He smiled.

His final power shattered the ice trapping his body.

CRACK!

The sound made both women turn.

Helmort waved at the hesitating Sakura. His last words rang clear as his body dissolved like a dream.

"By the name of Prince Helmord of El Shah, on behalf of our people—I beg you: Take the shot, Lady Sakura!"

"What?!"

Miria's face twisted in horror.

She spun—and met Sakura's clear green eyes.

And the raised ice rapier.

"Got it."

SHUNK!
