DIANA'S POV
Classical music filled my ears as Keith and I made our rounds in the room of the fundraising event. Amongst the multiple people we had greeted I kept my eyes on high alert.
I had been nervous all day as I waited for the time of the event. I hadn't received any texts or messages so I wondered if 'he' was going to talk to me tonight.
Then—he finally made an appearance. My heart began pounding so hard I almost thought it was going to burst out of my chest. He greeted Keith and I talked to us normally, I almost thought nothing was going to happen. However before he left us he then gave me a quick knowing glance. From that alone, I felt my blood freeze. He wanted to talk to me.
Shit. I thought to myself. I knew I was in trouble but I wondered why.
My gaze followed him as he walked away and went toward one of the exit doors of the room.
"Keith, I have to use the bathroom," I told him.
"Sure, you'll find me here," Keith assured me.
