Iris:
"What the heck just happened?" Kash demanded, turning around and trying to open the door.
"Well, it seems like the kids locked it." I stood there in the dark, watching him.
He was wearing a black sleeveless shirt, probably because he hadn't planned to stay long.
That's when I realized this was another one of my children's games.
I groaned, and he turned to look at me.
"I guess Amy and Colin planned this," I muttered, slapping my forehead for falling for their tricks.
"Planned what?" Kash questioned.
I raised my head, tapping my foot in irritation.
The room was cramped and cold, with only a small vent high on the wall letting in a bit of light.
The only decent place to sit was beside the door, where Kash stood.
"I don't know. You heard them. That's all I know," I replied, regretting that I'd even hinted the kids planned something. Now he'd want details.
