"You don't like my mother? Why?" he asked, resting his hands on his waist.
The elevator doors opened again at the top floor, and before he could press the buttons once more, I stepped out like my tail was on fire.
Outside, I turned to glare at him before turning again to head toward my room.
When I realized he was following close behind, I knew he intended to confront me.
As soon as I opened my office door and stormed inside, I tried to shut it, but he slammed his hand against it and pushed it open, stepping in with me.
I dropped my hands, exhausted, then walked away, tossing my files onto the table and setting my bag on top of them.
"Why do I have to tell you why I don't like your parents? You can make a comment but I can't just make a comment like that," I said, one hand on the table and the other on my waist, leaning slightly forward.
