Everything went perfectly. Kash did not believe his family.
After he had been betrayed by his first mate, I had suspected something like this would happen.
I thought it might make him feel closer to me and realize he needed to make amends with at least one of his mates.
Now he was very sweet and understanding toward me.
Thankfully, he was not afraid to take my side in a way that would upset his family.
From their faces, it was clear they were holding back cries or protests.
When I stepped out of the room to see what was going on, I found him standing on the stairs while his mother cried below.
She was on the first floor, probably about to say something dramatic to get his attention and make him feel bad for her. That was exactly what I intended to stop.
"Kash," I called out.
His mother lifted her head from the ground and looked up the stairs to see her son standing there.
Kash turned to me, acknowledging me.
