Luke and Daniel waited for Evelyne at the school gate. They sat on the hood of Daniel's car, watching Luke's peers returning home from school with their fathers. Since it was the weekend, their fathers didn't have to go to work.
The boy's eyes kept watching each interaction between fathers and children walking out hand in hand. He felt a little jealous because he had never had a moment like that in his life. There was only his mother who always held his hand with a smile on her face. Although Luke felt happy, he couldn't deny that he wanted to experience what it was like to have a father who would hold his hand.
