Rattata rolled to extinguish the flames, feeling the temperature rise, trying to interrupt Charizard.
Unfortunately, it had no long-range moves. Skills like Scary Face were useless against Charizard flying so high.
Feeling the heat, Rattata felt like it was in a hot pan.
The feeling didn't last long. Charizard flapped its wings hard, releasing Heat Wave, rushing toward Rattata.
Invisible air currents were the hardest to defend against, and Rattata's skills were ineffective.
It felt as if it was being steamed alive.
"Well done, Charizard. Now use Air Slash!"
After successfully releasing Heat Wave, Gu Yuan had Charizard test another move.
He kept Charizard at a safe height while making Rattata feel completely locked down.
Rattata became a live training target, letting Charizard practice new moves freely.
When it was over, Gu Yuan could see the resentment in Rattata's eyes as it fell.
This scene repeated across the forest, especially with non-flying wild Pokémon without long-range attacks.
"Let's go, Charizard. Now show me the results of your training."
Several days later, outside the forest, Gu Yuan stood excited beside Charizard.
Now, Charizard was stronger than right after evolution, and its new moves were much more proficient.
Most excitingly, Charizard could now carry him through the air.

Gu Yuan swung onto Charizard's back, cheering. Eevee and Mankey followed suit.
Flapping its wings, Charizard took them into the sky, flying smoothly and demonstrating incredible control.
