Chapter 215 - Chapter 214 Waking from the Nightmare, Hope Remains

Ismail's soul was crafted by Dane's ability into a 'Soul Annihilation Bomb,' which cleanly wiped out all the 'parasites'' souls in one go.

But because of this, Parasite Demon was left with nothing but a shell containing infinite energy.

However, this was precisely the most useful thing about it; Dane stored this Demon body in his collection, intending to study its genes later.

After doing all this, Dane suddenly felt the Earth sinking; something was pushing Los Angeles into the sea.

He looked closely and realized that their battle had completely fractured Los Angeles's landmass; now the continental shelf had detached, and Los Angeles was rapidly sinking towards the ocean.

In the distance, Clark, Martian Manhunter, Hal, and others flew over.

'You've already dealt with it?'

Dane nodded, 'Yes, it's dead.'

'But Los Angeles is also finished; the United States has fallen into complete paralysis.' Doctor Fate shook his head.

"This can hardly be called a victory."

Dane saw the Justice Society members looking disheartened and gazed at his teammates with confusion.

"What? They don't know yet?"

The Justice League members exchanged glances, and finally, Clark said awkwardly, "We haven't had a chance to tell them."

Hawkman and Dr. Fate didn't understand what they meant; both were full of questions.

"The real major project is next; you all need to be prepared." Dane didn't elaborate, instead reminding the Justice League members.

Dane hadn't expected those Demons to go so big, affecting such a wide range.

In this incident, the Military bigwigs who died were truly dead, even if reality was reversed.

So for a long time to come, the U.S. Military's strength will be in an extremely precarious state.

Overseas Military Bases might face issues like lack of command, insufficient logistical supplies, and inability to contact Headquarters Base.

In the Middle East, countless opportunistic forces would seize this chance to tear at the fat.

And the domestic Military command agencies might have to endure a prolonged power struggle; the top-level bigwigs were all dead, but those positions still needed to be filled.

Dane believed countless people would be tempted, and besides...

He glanced at Martian Manhunter; in fact, Swanwick also had the capability to compete for those vacant positions.

All in all, the future U.S. will certainly fall into a predicament of internal and external troubles, and the government will need Superheroes more than ever before.

With the Military's strength completely paralyzed and difficult to reorganize in a short time, Superheroes were their greatest deterrent weapon against external threats.

Without using nuclear weapons, Superheroes were the only guarantee against external opportunists eyeing the U.S.

This was also an important reason why the President had agreed to Dane's terms earlier; he had already foreseen the difficult situation the U.S. was about to face.

"No time to lose, let's begin now!"

Wielding the power of the dream stone required no preparation. Dane had already handed over the maintenance of the Dream Realm to Cortana.

When the First of the Fallen fought him before, he always tried to find the artifact on Dane's person that sustained the Dream Realm, but little did he know that it wasn't on him at all.

"Cortana, you can proceed with the cleanup."

"Understood, Dane."

The sky shifted, and the atmospheric cavity created by Dane rapidly disappeared.

A powerful magic gradually approached from the distant horizon, like a wind, sweeping through everything in its path.

It emitted a dazzling light in the sky, looking like a brilliant aurora.

Broken continental shelves reconnected and healed, collapsed buildings returned to their places, and even shattered corpses re-healed and came back to life.

It was as if someone had pressed a rewind button on the entire World, restoring everything to its original state.

Wherever the magic passed, the land regenerated life.

Throughout the city, countless souls flew out from corners, like scattered white lights, flying everywhere to find their bodies.

In the Dream Realm, Dane had promised these souls that this Death was invalid.

So those fully restored corpses regained vitality and rose from the ground.

"I'm alive!"

The bewildered people finally realized they had died and come back to life. Some cried, some laughed, some knelt on the ground thanking God's grace… while the revived Atlantis Soldiers said, "I'm familiar with this; I've got experience."

The first thing they did after being resurrected was to silently re-muster their ranks, then look up at the "God" in the sky with reverence.

But when the dream stone modified reality, some heroes discovered that there were still surviving Imps in the city, who were still eyeing the resurrected humans with hostility.

"Almost forgot about you guys."

Dane took out the Hell Key, marking all the remaining Demon souls on this land. He thought for a moment and then removed one Demon from the list.

The Demon Etrigan; he was also considered a hero.

Then he tossed the key to the Witch of the Rock of Eternity.

The Witch immediately set up an altar, using the Hell Key as a catalyst to sacrifice all the marked Demon souls.

At the same time, she threw the stored N-metal, eternal metal, and Atlantis steel into the furnace, enchanting them with the souls of the Demons.

In reality, all the Demons wailed in the great fire, which originated from within, burning their souls inch by inch until nothing remained.

As more and more Demons died, the aura of the artifact in the Witch's furnace grew stronger.

The Hell Lords had opened too many gates in the U.S.; the invading Demons, both large and small, numbered close to a million. An artifact forged from such a massive quantity of souls was bound to be extremely powerful.

It would perfectly serve as Dane's artifact as the newly appointed King of Hell.

The dream stone's repair of reality seemed to take a long time, but in reality, it was merely an instant.

When the last trace of Hell's aura dissipated, Cortana completely gathered the dream stone's power within the Justice League.

The Superheroes seemed to awaken from a long nightmare, opening their eyes to find themselves standing on the streets of Los Angeles, surrounded by equally bewildered people… both heroes and ordinary people had woken from the dream.

"What. The. Hell…"

Everyone in the Suicide Squad was stunned, especially Captain Boomerang, who had actually died but unexpectedly came back to life from Hell.

"I think it has something to do with that person up there," Deadshot said very quietly.

Everyone looked up at the sky, where Dane's body was floating.

The sky, which had already turned to night, was now broad daylight. Sunlight pierced through the clouds, shining on Clark, allowing him to quickly recover.

"This feels great!"

Dr. Fate and Hawkman were dumbfounded. Everything before their eyes was like an illusionary dream; in the blink of an eye, the World had returned to its original state.

"No wonder, no wonder you weren't in a hurry to deal with those alien beings before. You already anticipated this, didn't you?"

Dr. Fate said in a rare, rather humble tone.

This made Hawkman look at him sideways.

Dane didn't answer directly, only saying, "You can always trust the Justice League, because my teammates are all excellent."

"But I feel like I didn't accomplish anything…" Hal said dejectedly.

He should be considered a top-tier combatant in the Justice League, right? But he felt his contribution was even less than Batman's.

Dane consoled him: "Not making the situation worse is already excellent."

As he said this, he looked meaningfully at the Justice Society members.

If they hadn't fallen for the "parasite's" trick and released Black Adam, perhaps these subsequent events wouldn't have happened.

But he didn't blame them; he believed Dr. Fate did it purely out of good intentions.

This man was stubborn; he would even sacrifice himself to complete the task of the God of Order 4.0. Dane couldn't be that selfless, so he was more tolerant of people like him.

It would be even better if he could change that condescending way of speaking.

They descended from the sky to the ground and reunited with the other heroes. The Suicide Squad looked a bit out of place, but anti-heroes are still heroes, right?

Of course, this was Dane's thought. The Justice Society members had a more severe moral purity complex, especially Hawkman, who looked down on Amanda's team.

Everyone looked at Dane, as if by an unspoken understanding.

"Although the Demons have been eliminated, other troubles will soon arrive. Everyone, whether you were a hero in the past or not, I hope you all prepare."

The intensity of this dream stone was beyond his expectation, so it might very well trigger the "evil" side of many people's hearts.

Facing Hell is very dangerous. With human minds, even experiencing it once like this in a dream stone could lead to being infected by the chaotic atmosphere of Hell.

Heroes will be very busy for some time to come.

Hey, Martian Manhunter really called it!
