Chapter 282 - Chapter 281: "Spark of God" Reappears

Diana did not mention the throne, and Hippolyta knew that she probably had no intention of taking the throne from her.

Therefore, she immediately wanted to lecture her: How could such a major matter as the succession of the throne be treated so lightly?

But before she could speak, Antiope rushed out, interjecting before Hippolyta could say anything:

"I understand. The Amazon Army will accept your command."

This interruption choked the words Hippolyta wanted to say.

It was then that Antiope turned to look at her:

"According to the rules of the throne challenge, Diana now has every right to make a strong claim to the title of King, so it is perfectly reasonable for her to command the Amazon Army, don't you think?"

How could I not understand this?

Hippolyta felt that Antiope was avoiding the main issue. If she could make a strong claim, why not let her ascend directly?

What was the point of just letting her take command of the Army? This simply did not follow proper procedure!

But this was an unspoken understanding between Antiope and Diana; they both knew that Hippolyta was the most suitable person to be King, whether considering the will of the people or Diana's own original intention.

Diana could not abandon Dane and the Justice League, so she could not truly sit on the throne. Otherwise, how could she continue to be Wonder Woman in the future?

Did they expect Hippolyta to be like Atlanna, working tirelessly as a hidden helper?

Diana was not a King like Arthur who needed to be managed! She was capable.

"What is this supposed to be?" Menalippe, however, voiced her question, which was actually the question of the audience members present.

They seemed to have heard earlier that this was a battle for the throne!

Queen Hippolyta lost, so now Diana was inheriting the throne?

But no one answered their question, and soon they were stunned by an even more astonishing piece of news.

Antiope, as the Amazon General, stood in the center of the arena and loudly announced to the people in the stands.

"Amazons! Hear me!"

The noisy sounds in the arena instantly quieted down, demonstrating the Amazons' good obedience.

"Amazon warriors, you must all know about the mother box being stolen."

Most of the Amazons here, even if they hadn't personally experienced it, must have heard about Darkseid, so they could understand Antiope's meaning.

"Guarding the mother box is the responsibility bestowed upon the Amazons by the gods, yet we lost it. This is a serious dereliction of duty!"

Dane couldn't help but glance sideways; this woman didn't say that yesterday!

Indeed, a woman's face is like the weather in June, changing in an instant.

Antiope's words successfully stirred the Amazons' sense of honor. They were truly a group of very simple warriors who would sacrifice their lives for some vague glory or belief.

Such things have become a very scarce commodity now, and Dane could understand Hippolyta's actions even more.

If she, as Queen, didn't use more cunning to look out for these people, they might be sold off and still count money for others.

"Reclaim the mother box!"

"Reclaim the mother box!"

The Amazons in the stands roared, like a continuous wave. As a warrior race, their fighting spirit would surge with just a little encouragement.

Seeing that the Army's morale was high and its spirit vigorous, Antiope drew the sword from her waist and pointed it diagonally towards the sky.

"All Amazons, listen to my command! All trainees, return to your units immediately, find your Centurion, and organize the Army.

We Amazons are leaving Themyscira and heading to the Human world to show that despicable thief the wrath of the Amazons!"

As soon as Antiope's words fell, followers flocked, and battle roars, like mountains collapsing and tsunamis raging, echoed in every corner of the arena.

The Amazons officially joined the Earth Allied Army!

Dane noticed that when Hippolyta no longer opposed the Amazons joining the war, even Menalippe, beside him, became excited, revealing a feeling of joy at the prospect of battle.

Warrior race, a well-deserved name.

Amidst the cheers, Hippolyta still harbored worries. After they left the arena, Hippolyta immediately challenged Antiope.

"Antiope, you shouldn't act on your own!"

But Antiope replied to her expressionlessly: "If you could have won, I naturally wouldn't have to do this."

These words directly silenced Hippolyta. After all was said and done, it was because she lost that Antiope had no choice but to agree to Diana's request.

Otherwise, if Diana really became Queen, it wouldn't be her place to grumble here.

Hippolyta had to bypass this topic and turn to another issue: "Even if we are going to wage war against Steppenwolf and his minions, we don't have the weapons to deal with them."

She emphasized: "You saw last time that our existing weapons are completely ineffective against them. This is no longer the golden age of the past."

At this moment, Diana interjected: "I remember Themyscira still has divine weapons preserved from back then. They were all forged by Hephaestus, the God of Fire."

Although those were only mass-produced items, once they could function, their power would be no less than modern human thermal weapons, and they even had a greater advantage in range.

Moreover, these divine weapons also contained magic power, which caused some extra damage to the New Gods or their creations, something human weapons could not achieve.

However, the prerequisite for all of this was that they must be able to function, and this was precisely the Amazons' current pain point.

Ever since the gods retreated to the New God Realm, those divine weapons had never again received the blessings of the gods, and now they could no longer play their proper role.

Since they were god-made weapons, they naturally also needed gods to help them maintain their divine power, and this process had to be continuous.

Otherwise, they would become like Hippolyta's one-time items.

For weapons like arrows, it might not be a problem, but for weapons like swords, shields, and spears that required continuous use, if there were no gods to continuously empower them, they would soon become like ordinary mortal weapons, smashed into scrap metal by the Parademons Army.

Hippolyta now found Diana annoying no matter how she looked at her, so her tone was not very pleasant: "Now that the Human world has lost its gods, those divine weapons have long lost their former glory. They are just a pile of scrap metal now!"

Antiope also echoed: "That's right, unless there is a Spark of God, perhaps their abilities could be activated."

Upon hearing this, Hippolyta knew that Diana would surely volunteer. As the daughter of Zeus, she indeed had the ability to use the Spark of God, so she quickly added:

"But merely activating them is useless, unless you can stably and continuously provide energy for an entire Army. But putting aside whether you can do it, even if you truly can, then you would basically be saying goodbye to the battlefield."

Once Diana chose to bear the energy supply for an entire Army herself, even if the number of Amazon warriors was not large, it would become a huge burden for her.

Under such a heavy burden, she could no longer personally join the battlefield.

For her, who was warlike, this was absolutely unacceptable, especially when her compatriots were fighting on the front lines, but she could only watch from the rear. From Hippolyta's understanding of her, this was even more unbearable.

However, what Hippolyta did not expect was that Diana was not worried about this problem at all; instead, she smiled at her.

"Mother, just watch, this problem is not a problem for us at all."

Hippolyta did not understand the source of her confidence, but since her words could not sway Diana, she was completely at her wit's end.

Could it be that the Amazon legacy of thousands of years was now going to decline in her hands?

The Amazons' efficiency was very high. For an Army that still adhered to ancient military systems and continued to this day, their efficiency was even higher than that of the United States' leisurely Soldiers.

Those old guys like Sam Lane should really come and see, it would shame them to death!

Menalippe, following the King's command, moved all the long-stored divine weapons from the warehouse and placed them under the sun.

It must be said, it was quite tragic.

These weapons, which once shone brightly on battlefields resisting foreign invasions, were now rusty, some even blunted, making one wonder if they would break at a touch.

The Amazon warriors had already received notice when they assembled, so they did not carry any weapons at this time.

Now, as they looked at the weapons spread on the ground like scrap metal, they all thought:

If they had to go to battle with such junk, they would rather go empty-handed and fight the Parademons!

Hippolyta stood directly in front of the Army. She looked back at Diana: "Now, it's up to you."

However, Diana did not move; instead, Dane, who was beside her, stepped forward.

It was not just Hippolyta, but Antiope and Menalippe had also been wondering for a long time.

That is, how was Dane able to be with Diana?

Dane walked unhurriedly to the pile of weapons. In front of him, besides the pile of weapons, there were neatly lined up Amazon Soldiers. They also watched the only man on Themyscira with curious eyes, wondering what he was going to do.

Dane closed his eyes slightly. When he opened them again, divine power, in the form of dazzling lightning, lit up in his eyes.

Above the sky, the clear blue sky had, at some point, been stained by the shadow of thunderclouds, and the clouds rapidly gathered at a visible speed.

Within those dark clouds, the muffled rumble of thunder could be heard from time to time.

Hippolyta, seeing this scene from behind, her face changed dramatically, and she exclaimed in shock: "This is the power of Zeus!"

As Zeus's lover, she couldn't possibly have not seen Zeus's great power, so she easily recognized the essence of this power.

Dane raised one hand, making a fist gesture towards the sky. The clouds quickly contracted under his gesture, as if brewing something.

At this moment, Dane suddenly waved his arm downwards, and a bolt of lightning suddenly burst from the clouds, following his command and striking directly onto that pile of "scrap metal."

A violent flash of White light passed, and when everyone lowered their light-shielding arms, only divine weapons shimmering with dazzling divine light remained on the field.

That was the Spark of God, a blessing from the King of All Gods!
