Despite Ivy's warning, I still picked the call. I wanted to know why she portrayed Fred as an evil person.
"Hello Babe, I had been trying to reach you since the last time," Fred said from the other side of the call.
I stayed silent, unsure if I should be speaking to him.
"You know I actually pulled some strings to get you hired at your dream art gallery. Have you received the mail yet?"
"I have," I said in response.
"Alright babe, I got to go. Take care of yourself." With that last statement, he ended the call.
That was Bella's boyfriend, and I didn't know the dynamics of their relationship. I had barely seen anything about him in Bella's diary. Did he know the type of work his girlfriend did as a stripper, and was he comfortable with it?
Ivy had warned me that he was bad news, but with the way he put effort into getting Bella's dream job for her, it made him sound like a total gentleman.
