Chapter 77 - Chapter 77 Wuhu, Take Off

Having been in Mondstadt for so long, Ryan was visiting the Upper City of Mondstadt City for the first time.

Getting out of the carriage and entering the wide, circular grand plaza, he gazed at the Anemo God Statue standing tall in the center of the plaza, its wings spread, hood up, and both hands extended forward.

Ryan had only one thought: since he wasn't Spider-Man from the game, how was he supposed to climb onto the Anemo God Statue's palm?

Should he nail a few climbing spikes into it?

Shaking off the disrespectful thought that would get him beaten to death by the Mondstadter, his gaze moved upwards again.

Even higher than the Upper City, at the end of a long staircase, stood the magnificent, unmissable, sacred Cathedral.

Its pointed spires, pointed arches, bell towers, pinnacles, flying buttresses, doors, and windows all showcased a Gothic architectural style.

Faintly, the sound of a choir singing drifted down from above, instilling a sense of solemn peace.

"You've read all the books about flying, haven't you?" Amber led Ryan to the stone railing of the plaza. "Flying is seventy percent skill, thirty percent intuition, and the remaining ninety percent is all about courage!"

"Just follow me and jump when I do!"

Ryan glanced at the vertical stone wall below, a sight that could instantly dizzy someone with acrophobia.

At this height, the carriages on the road looked like moving little boxes.

"I have! Besides the thick flight manual, there's also that fable book you recommended."

"What's important isn't the strong wind, but courage; it's what made you the first birds in the world!"

Amber looked at the eager and fearless Ryan, feeling very comforted.

"Right! With the enlightenment from the story, you can also become a flight champion who looks down on Mondstadt City, just like me!"

"This fable book, which I loved reading as a child, was truly the guide that taught me how to fly."

"Let's... become birds!"

Amber leaped out, her brown-red Champion's Wind Glider unfurled, the wind lifting her body, and air currents sweeping past the edges of her wings.

Ryan followed closely, spreading his arms.

His body fell backward, plummeting through the high sky.

His clothes flapped loudly, his hair flew, and the constantly approaching ground filled his vision.

The Wings of Morning Light, formed from illusion into reality, their dazzling purple radiance transforming into the ash-black and gold feathers of a raven.

"The wind is picking up!"

A small step off the cliff was a giant leap for flight.

"Ryan—! Senior Amber—!" Noelle leaned over the stone railing of the plaza, anxiously watching the two.

The Knights of Favonius were looking up at them!

If they were stopped, according to Article 7, Section 12 of the Mondstadt City Public Security Management Law, unlicensed illegal flying could lead to...

Noelle looked at the box of fruit in her hand, remembering the rule not to carry oversized heavy objects when flying, and directly gave the fruit to the Bard and tourists who came to worship the Anemo God in the plaza.

Stepping onto the stone railing, he unfurled his Wind Glider, chasing after the two figures who were weaving through the rooftops and were almost out of sight.

The wind between his palms was like a woman's passionate embrace.

Before Transmigration, extending his hand while riding a bike would allow him to feel this wonderful sensation.

Ryan watched the red-tiled roofs, chimney attics, and bird-nested residences below, carefully avoiding the slowly rotating large windmills in the Central District and Lower City.

The huge blades turning still had a strong sense of oppression.

A gust of wind surged from below.

Ryan's descending figure flew up again.

The four-star Wind Glider's sensitivity to airflow allowed him to feel a series of accelerating wind rings ahead.

Wind fields, wind rings.

According to what he learned from the books he read at Amber's house, these were a natural phenomenon in Teyvat, like wind and rain.

Some were permanent, some appeared randomly, and some could be activated through specific mechanisms.

As long as one observed carefully, flying would be much more convenient.

What he was feeling now was a type that appeared randomly.

"Good luck!" Ryan looked up and saw that Amber had already ridden the wind, rushing into this wind ring track that circled half of Mondstadt.

The wind ring tilted, and the airflow spiraled upwards.

This allowed them to soar even higher.

"The people flying up there! Flying is not allowed here! And stepping on the roofs of the common people is even less allowed!"

"Please land immediately!"

The Knights of Favonius squinted, shielding their eyes from the high-altitude sun, and shouted at the black dots above.

These days, some people had been flying illegally, carrying heavy objects, stepping on residents' tiles, causing several holes in their roofs, and creating a lot of noise.

The Knights of Favonius had received many complaints, demanding the revocation of the flyers' flight licenses.

"What! The wind's too strong! I can't hear you!" Ryan, of course, wouldn't be foolish enough to go down; he rode the wind field and wind ring and flew away in an instant.

"Please accept the inspection and show your flight license!" The Knights of Favonius was furious.

Soon after, Noelle flew down, but the wind field had already disappeared, and she could only watch helplessly as Ryan and Amber escaped.

"Noelle?" The Knights of Favonius looked at the armored Damselette. "Are you pursuing them? That black dot ahead, the sun is too bright, I didn't see clearly, who was that?"

"Could you describe their appearance?"

"Ah—ah—" Noelle suddenly panicked, her face full of struggle, wondering if she was about to violate the Knights of Favors' virtues and spirit by lying and helping to conceal them.

She had just made a vow to the Anemo God a few days ago.

"I... I have something to do, I'm leaving first!" Noelle looked at the constantly questioning Knights of Favonius, saw that the situation was not good, and took off running.

Senior Amber, Ryan, you two scoundrels!

I'm not going to be a full-fledged Knight again!

In the high sky of Mondstadt City,

"Ryan, can you catch up to me?" Amber turned back and gave Ryan a victory sign.

Her Champion's Wind Glider had a flight speed bonus; it was the fastest Wind Glider in all of Mondstadt.

"You flew first, that's not fair!"

Ryan shouted from behind.

The other party was rushing too fast, and he, using a Wind Glider for the first time, was still quite unskillful.

The flying techniques in his memory also needed some time to be digested and converted into actual flying ability.

Although he couldn't catch up, Ryan was not discouraged, admiring Amber's back with pure eyes.

So cool! So beautiful!

Flying past the Gothe Grand Hotel, he saw the Electro Cicin Mage standing by the window, counting the dead Electro Cicins because of too much dust in the room.

Ryan greeted her warmly with a wave.

allogenes, demons, and allogenes, together in Mondstadt City, how rare.

"I want to fly higher, fly higher, wings stirring up a storm, my heart roaring..."

Happily, Ryan couldn't help but sing loudly in his native language.

A flock of pigeons perched on the eaves were so startled they immediately flew away.

As the saying goes, being too arrogant comes at a price!

The unstable wind ring ahead suddenly disappeared.

Ryan's flight altitude instantly dropped, and after almost hitting a wall, he made an emergency landing.

"Ryan, please show your flight license. If you don't have one, please come with me." A Knights of Favonius was leisurely strolling the streets, waiting for him below like a rabbit.

He unexpectedly caught the famous person of Mondstadt City recently.

"Oh no!" Ryan's heart sank. Was he going to join the nobles in prison so soon? And live under the same roof with them for a few days?

"It's... it's Amber, she's giving me a flight assessment!"

Thinking quickly, Ryan instantly passed the buck.

Just then, Amber also ran over and quickly bluffed: "Right, right! I'm conducting a flight assessment for Ryan!"

"Oh, I see!" The Knights of Favonius suddenly understood. A flight assessment, then it's fine!

"No!" He suddenly realized something, his face serious.

"Knight Amber, I remember your flight license was revoked and you haven't retaken the exam yet."

"Are you qualified to be an examiner?"
