After Odin entered his slumber, Asgard's power entered a brief vacuum, but with the support of Mother Frigga, the second prince Loki temporarily became the regent.
This news had not yet spread until the next day, when Thor's four friends, who always fought alongside him on the battlefield, came to the Heavenly Palace to plead for Thor.
They were Thor's fiancée Sif, an Asgardian female warrior with extraordinary swordsmanship.
Beside Sif were The Warriors Three, consisting of Volstagg, Fandral, and Hogun.
Volstagg was the most robust warrior among them, proficient in the use of all cold weapons, and also the oldest of the three.
Fandral looked like a dashing young man; he was a master swordsman.
Hogun's appearance looked different from other Asgardians, and he himself was not an Asgardian; he was actually a war orphan like Loki, his physique was not as good as an Asgardian's, but he would use various potions on the battlefield, serving as a strong backing for the team.
Because Thor had recently disregarded Heimdall's dissuasion and insisted on going to Jotunheim to fight the Frost Giants, he was stripped of his divine power by Odin and exiled to Midgard.
Midgard refers to Earth.
Sif came to the front of the hall, bowed towards the throne, and pleaded, "Allfather, we have..."
But before Sif could finish her sentence, she saw the unpleasant figure on the throne.
Loki was clad in a luxurious green and gold robe, wearing a horned helmet, and holding Gungnir, the 'Spear of Destiny,' the symbol of the Asgardian God King.
The four immediately froze in place, looking at each other, speechless for a moment, until Loki broke the quiet atmosphere.
"My friends."
"Where is His Majesty?" Volstagg stepped forward and asked.
"Father has entered the Odinsleep; he needs to prepare for the future," Loki explained unhurriedly, "Mother was worried that Asgard would be unattended, so she chose to temporarily entrust the throne to me."
However, Loki's explanation did not satisfy the four; they did not believe the God of Lies and Mischief, and Sif even ignored the guards below the throne and pressed Loki:
"Then we want to see Mother!"
"Mother refuses to leave Father; just tell me what you want to say," Loki said, then rose from the throne and displayed the Gungnir in his hand to the four.
"Now, I am the King of Asgard."
At this point, the four were helpless; they could not commit an act of offense against the King, and even Sif could only plead:
"Your Majesty, please end Thor's exile."
"My first command cannot conflict with Father's last command." Loki sneered, and at the same time, he realized that he could not allow Thor to return to the Heavenly Palace, and to ensure effective rule, Loki even issued an order.
"The threat of the Frost Giants is upon us; we must unite, actively prepare for war, and everything is for Asgard."
No matter what, Loki's ascension was not legitimate, and the Asgardian people were fierce; if he didn't use some special means, someone would definitely come to resist him.
Volstagg, the oldest of the four, and Fandral, with his active mind, realized that whatever they said would be useless, so they could only pull Sif away from that place of trouble.
Watching the four's retreating figures, Loki decided that he would personally go to Midgard to make Thor give up the idea of returning to the Heavenly Palace.
The Warriors Three and Sif quickly left the palace and, led by Fandral, arrived at a completely safe place.
"We must act," Hogun suggested; this calm medic on the battlefield was now the most radical, "We must find Thor."
"It's martial law now; leaving Asgard casually is equivalent to treason," Volstagg reminded.
"No, it's suicide," Fandral added.
Upon hearing this, Sif took a deep breath, then solemnly said, "Thor would also take risks for us."
All the past memories flooded their minds; at this moment, Sif and The Warriors Three all decided to fight for Thor.
But Loki had just issued the martial law, and the four could not act immediately; they needed to find a suitable opportunity.
...........
Meanwhile, on Earth, New Mexico.
Ailer and his two companions brought Thor to a family restaurant and served the big golden-haired man two family buckets; this big golden-haired man had an astonishing appetite, able to finish one family bucket and a liter of cola in less than ten minutes.
Thor savored the crispy, fragrant fried chicken, full of praise for this mortal delicacy.
"I never thought Midgard would have such delicious food now!"
Thor ate with oil dripping from his mouth; his eating style was wild, looking like a savage.
"Midgard? Isn't that what the Earth is called in myths? You really are a strange fellow," Jane shook her head and said.
Seeing this, Ailer suggested, "Do you want to tell us your story?"
"This meal is worth me telling you some stories!" Thor ate happily, he rubbed his belly, then told the three a story.
"I'll tell you about my last experience on Earth; it's been almost a thousand years, let me think... Your humans were being troubled by a black dragon named 'Grendel' at that time, and I, Thunder God Thor, bravely stepped forward and defeated that dragon with unmatched lightning."
"A dragon, huh, lightning, huh, Jane." Darcy elbowed Jane, her face always bearing the expression of looking at a 'fool.'
Jane also thought Thor was seriously ill, and at this moment, she remembered something, so she asked Ailer:
"Good sir, by the way, I still don't know your name?"
"My name is Ailer Hestia, just a traveler," Ailer replied.
"I remember who you are!" Darcy exclaimed, "You're the great writer who's written several best-selling books in a row!"
"A great writer?" Jane frowned slightly, but before she could think too much, she was interrupted by a phone call.
"What? Our device is being taken away by a group of men in black?!"
Dr. Erik called Jane, realizing something was wrong, and everyone quickly rushed back, also packing Thor's unfinished fried chicken.
But it was too late when they arrived; a group of people in suits had already moved all the equipment, and Jane and Dr. Erik's attempts to stop them were useless; the bald middle-aged man leading them only left them a bank card and a sentence.
"Please rest assured, we are good people, and we will use your research for good purposes."
