.Chapter 106: Venom,Terrarium

Venom cowered trembling inside Batman's body, not daring to speak a single word.

Compared to the strength and power of Batman's Peter Parker physique, Batman's nearly indestructible willpower was what terrified Venom most.

It felt grateful that when attempting to contact the weakness Batman hid deep in his heart, it had been blocked by barriers rather than directly touching things it absolutely couldn't control like Mr. Negative had.

Returning to City Hall Station, dawn was breaking faintly.

Batman maintained silence throughout. After remotely operating Parker Industries' computer to rush-order another batch of materials, he removed his suit and began exercising.

Here Batman had specially crafted super-heavy training equipment for himself—ranging from thirty to one hundred tons.

Currently in normal state, Batman using Peter's body could exert thirty tons of force. Under more extreme circumstances, he could reach approximately fifty tons.

As Batman continuously squeezed this body's potential, sweat droplets continuously fell, splattering on the ground with audible thuds.

"I..." Venom hesitated for a long time before speaking.

It had barely spoken one word before Batman's low voice stopped it:

"Quiet."

Venom immediately fell silent. It had just wanted to say it could combine with Batman's body, providing far more than thirty tons of force.

But Batman refused with absolute firmness. He didn't even consider what Venom wanted to say.

Tonight's events at FEAST Center had made Batman understand that Venom could completely explore his memories.

Even if it didn't dare probing deepest memories, Batman's crossing over from Gotham plus nearly everything he'd done after arriving in this world—Venom knew it all clearly.

Yet regarding Venom itself, Batman's knowledge was nearly zero—knowing nothing beyond weaknesses learned through combat.

This situation plunged Batman into immense anxiety. He planned immediately halting all his activities, ceasing contact with everyone.

Before the rush-ordered materials arrived, Batman didn't intend any form of communication with Venom.

Fortunately, Batman's ordered materials—furthest from Washington, nearest from a local New York company—would all arrive earliest tomorrow morning.

"Professor, halt transformation control experiments for one day."

Batman remotely contacted Professor Connors through the computer's encrypted channel, avoiding situations where his absence left only Dr. Banner alone unable to handle Professor Connors transforming into the Lizard.

From Batman's currently possessed data, if they fought each other, ninety percent probability favored Hulk's victory.

But that was based on deductions assuming unrestrained, all-out combat. Batman would try avoiding such occurrences.

Not only would their brawling attract attention from Rikers Island prison guards nearby, but Batman's newly acquired secret research base would also be exposed in such circumstances.

Not to mention Dr. Octavius currently on the island—having dismantled his tentacles, he was just a slightly overweight ordinary middle-aged human.

Once Professor Lizard and the Hulk started fighting, Dr. Octavius would definitely be the first casualty.

"What happened? Is it related to us?" Professor Connors's message quickly returned.

"I'm experiencing some personal issues. Temporarily unable to come," Batman replied.

Soon Professor Connors replied with a reassuring message, telling Batman they'd conveniently use this morning's free time to test the half lizard tail Hulk had torn off yesterday.

"I should begin my verification too," Batman murmured internally.

He needed verifying this world's underlying physical rules and mathematical structures to determine whether this world existed within the same physical framework as his original world.

Verification portions requiring precision instruments couldn't commence temporarily—like measuring light speed, photoelectric effects, calculating gravity, etc.

But probability, prime numbers, pi, etc.—Batman could verify using computers plus paper and pen at City Hall Station.

'Ah, mathematics. What's Batman doing?'

Venom could see what Batman saw. It couldn't help pondering now.

But Venom didn't dare speak. The scene where it had barely spoken one word before Batman's cold rejection seemed still before Venom's eyes. It feared that speaking now would prompt Batman taking measures against it.

Mathematics and various conceptual verifications consumed nearly Batman's entire daytime.

During this period, Batman never left City Hall Station, consumed no food, barely drank water, and certainly didn't sleep.

His mental focus remained highly concentrated—half suppressing Venom, half conducting various mathematical verifications.

Until darkness gradually fell, even after mathematical verification ended, Batman still didn't rest. Tonight he didn't even go out fighting criminals but immediately proceeded to the next analysis step.

This time targeting when he'd just crossed over—wearing his suit standing on Gotham architecture's gargoyle watching rainy night scenery—the series of images that had flashed before his eyes.

Batman had always deeply memorized them. Due to various reality problems, he'd never found opportunities for analysis. Perfect timing analyzing today.

Images that had flashed then replayed in Batman's mind. The appearing figures also surfaced one by one in Batman's mind. Finally, Batman's memory settled on Ben Parker lying on the ground, grasping Peter Parker's hand.

"With great power comes great responsibility?"

Batman summarized Ben Parker's dying words into one sentence, then remained motionless like a sculpture.

Another dozen-plus minutes passed. Batman gathered his thoughts, instead transferring current work to subsequent plans.

He needed continuing more detailed planning for the upcoming physical infiltration of SHIELD.

'Plans, more plans! Does his brain contain nothing but plans?' Venom was currently complaining frantically.

The problem of Stark weapons reaching markets was half-solved. Currently Batman had temporarily received no information involving Stark weapons flowing to markets.

But Stark weapons leaked from SHIELD. If not resolving this problem, similar situations would occur in the future.

Two sources—one SHIELD, one Stark Industries. Batman needed using different methods to prevent military hardware appearing in civilian markets.

Especially since arms issues also involved the taken Norman Osborn, General Ross, plus forces behind General Ross.

The long night passed. Night time flew by instantly. Batman's rush-ordered materials had finally all arrived.

Venom's heart sank. It knew what those things Batman had ordered were.

A terrarium built specifically for it—or rather, a customized prison.
