Sabo's expression remained calm but thoughtful.
"This means the Beasts Pirates are completely finished. I didn't expect it to end like this," Ace shook his head.
When he'd last spoken with Sugisawa Yuuto, he had been worried. Fairy Tail had decided not to ally with the Whitebeard Pirates, instead attacking Wanokuni and the Beasts Pirates alone.
Ace had wondered how this war would unfold. He was no longer the naive youth who had first arrived in the New World two years ago. He knew the power of the Sea Emperor atop the world. Even Fairy Tail, now Royal, would be at a disadvantage alone against overwhelming numbers.
He and Sabo had already prepared to risk everything.
But no one could have predicted what came next.
Facing an army of twenty thousand Beasts in full formation on Ghost Island, Fairy Tail shattered the terrain with a single strike. One move after another obliterated the enemy, giving them overwhelming advantage from the outset. The small cadres were already eliminated; the remaining soldiers were merely prey.
"By the way… why haven't we seen the Four Emperors Kaido of the Beasts? Where is he?" Sabo asked.
His intuition was correct—the absence of Kaido was the key to the smooth progress of this battle.
"Looks like that bastard father went ahead, before you arrived," Yamato said, pointing north.
But words were no longer needed. Something astonishing unfolded in the northern sky.
Dark clouds swirled and blocked out the sun. Within them, a massive dragon stirred.
"Coming soon…"
Ace and Sabo's pupils constricted; their muscles tensed. Raging power surged.
A fiery Pteranodon descended from the darkened sky, wings trailing flames, swooping toward the chaotic battlefield.
Yan Huanjin's eyes widened in shock. Ever since he'd learned of Fairy Tail's arrival, he had rushed to the back of the bell to seek Kaido. Less than an hour had passed—but in that time, Ghost Island had been turned upside down.
"Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on here?!" Flame Calamity Ember screamed, a mixture of shock and rage.
"Master Jhin! Lord Jhin is back!"
"Help me, too heavenly!"
"Fairy Tail… Fairy Tail is here!"
"Monsters… all of them are monsters!"
The Hundred Beasts Pirates screamed in terror. Their island destroyed, twenty thousand soldiers obliterated in moments.
"Where's Mr. Kaido? Don't tell me you didn't find him!" Plague Quinn wailed grotesquely.
Yan Calamity Ember fell silent, eyes fixed on the sky. The dark clouds, once cleared by Sugisawa Yuuto's law, now consumed the entire sky again.
Click! Lightning crackled, illuminating the roiling clouds, spiraling like an Uzumaki.
At the very center, a ferocious head emerged.
"Mr. Kaido!" Plague Quinn shouted.
"Ooooooh!"
"Master Kaido!"
"It's Mr. Kaido!"
"Governor Kaido is back!"
"We're saved!"
The despairing Beasts Pirates erupted in excitement.
Ace and Sabo clenched their fists, determination hardening their gazes.
"Asshole Papa Minotaur!" Yamato tightened her grip on her mace, ready to fight.
"That's the Four Emperors Kaido of the Beasts," Ace muttered.
"I didn't expect… a dragon!"
"Not like dragons from our world… it's a blue dragon!"
Fairy Tail girls watched in awe as the massive green-blue dragon dominated the sky.
"It doesn't matter if it's a dragon or a blue dragon—the president is a dragon slayer!" Juvia whispered confidently.
"That's right! No matter what, we stand by the president!"
Erza's eyes locked on the flames and chaos below. Kurozumi Orochi had proven weak earlier—despised by Erza—but as one of the three disasters of the Hundred Beasts, Yan Calamity had to be stronger.
"Ooooooooohhhhhhhh," Qinglong, still drunk, laughed dully. "Am I dreaming? This… isn't my Ghost Island!"
Even Kaido's towering form seemed unable to accept the ruined base camp before him.
"Since you can't see clearly, let me help you, Kaido!"
On Fairy Tail's side, Sugisawa Yuuto grinned, raising his massive hand skyward.
Magic—Enormous, activated!
Before the stunned onlookers, Sugisawa Yuuto's hand swelled against the wind, shot into the sky, grabbing Qinglong's head and slamming it toward the ground.
Boom! Rumble!
The aloof Qinglong crashed into the mortal world, the dragon's roar echoing across the battlefield.
