"Sure enough… I still want to go!"
"No way… it's work, after all… and—"
Sugisawa Yuuto glanced at Bonney, who was standing beside him, determination blazing in her eyes.
"I see!" Dragon said, pulling a permanent pointer from his pocket. "No one can stop my daughter's determination to see her father!"
He handed the pointer to Yuuto and stepped forward to embrace his eldest niece.
"Don't worry. We will definitely see him~!" A rare smile appeared on Dragon's face, softening his usually stern features.
"…???"
"Then, I'll take my leave first," Dragon said, bowing slightly.
"Ah," Yuuto replied with a nod.
In the next second, a gust of wind swept through, and the Revolutionary Dragon vanished as suddenly as he had appeared.
"Wait a moment… wait! What did you mean earlier?" Bonney shouted, coming to her senses and trying to ask, but Dragon was already gone.
"Rest well tonight. We leave tomorrow," Yuuto said gently, patting Bonney's head, still puzzled by the sudden disappearance.
By ten o'clock, Ulu had taken Bonney back to the boat to rest after a hearty meal. Yuuto lay on the beach, gazing up at the star-strewn sky. In his arms, Urutia curled up like a tiny, restless kitten.
"President~" she whispered, her autumn-like eyes shining with hope and anticipation. Her long legs shifted nervously.
It had been over a month since they were last at the G5 base. In that time, Urutia had been accompanied by her mother, Ulu, and her younger sister, Bonney. On the surface, she appeared fine… but in the quiet of night, thoughts of Sugisawa Yuuto would inevitably drift through her mind.
Now… he was finally here.
Urutia could no longer suppress her emotions. Yuuto, naturally understanding her unspoken hopes, withdrew the large hand that had rested lightly on her. Under the moonlight, the crystal sheen between his fingers glinted softly.
Looking at the crystal in his hand, he knew she was ready.
The waves lapped against the shore with a soft, rhythmic splashing, marking the passage of the night.
The next day, the magical power boat set off, following the permanent pointer's direction at full speed toward Mirai Egghead.
After a day's journey, an island with a distinctly technological aura appeared on the horizon.
Future Island—Egghead—had been reached.
This was one of the most forbidden places in the treacherous New World. Not because of unpredictable weather or natural barriers like the waterfalls of Wano. No—pirates feared Egghead for a different reason entirely: this was the domain of Vegapunk, a genius Marine scientist.
Compared to the nearby Marine bases, what made Egghead truly terrifying was the island's defenses. Enormous sea beasts prowled the surrounding waters. Ordinary New World warriors could handle normal sea beasts, but these were no ordinary creatures.
Thanks to Vegapunk's modifications, even weak sea beasts were transformed into lethal sea-beast weapons. Gigantic in size, armored, and armed with countless heavy weapons, they were perfectly suited for underwater combat. A single fleet could easily be sunk in minutes. Even the super pirates of the Four Emperors level would need extreme caution to avoid being overwhelmed.
And that was just the creatures in the surrounding waters. The armed forces stationed on Egghead Island itself were not to be underestimated. Cutting-edge technology was scattered across the island, patrolled by formidable human weapons. It was essentially an impregnable fortress, all crafted by the hands of Vegapunk—a man who claimed to possess five centuries' worth of world-leading scientific knowledge.
There were others in the world devoted to scientific research—the Vinsmoke family of Germa, Plague Quinn of the Beast Pirates, the geniuses of Punk Hazard—but decades ago, they had all been Vegapunk's students in the MADS organization. When MADS was disbanded, many followed Vegapunk into government service. Some, like Vinsmoke Judge, returned to pursue their own paths, but even their achievements paled in comparison to Vegapunk's.
From seastone-reinforced warships capable of passing through the Calm Belt, to Devil Fruit application for non-living constructs, to the Marine human weapon Pacifist, and the nearly completed upgraded Seraph—these cross-generational innovations were all products of Vegapunk.
Even in the field of human gigantism, Vegapunk's research was unparalleled. This was why Sugisawa Yuuto had agreed to send the gigantic children to Egghead: he trusted both Vegapunk's technology and character. If circumstances allowed, Yuuto would even consider recruiting them for Fairy Tail.
"It's incredible… what is that? It's completely different from any islands or cities I've ever seen!" Urutia exclaimed, marveling at the technological city now visible.
"Yes, this has to be the old man Vegapunk's island!" Bonney said, clenching her little pink fist. Her face reflected a mixture of awe and nerves.
"What is that massive structure in the center?" Ulu asked, eyes wide with curiosity.
"That's Vegapunk's brain," Yuuto replied.
"Huh?" Ulu and Urutia tilted their heads, silently acknowledging the reply.
"Let's go!" Yuuto said, not offering further explanation, and led the landing on Egghead Island.
Before long…
Clatter! Clatter!
The sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the city streets. While passing through the surrounding waters earlier, Yuuto's Long Wei had kept the sea-beast weapons at bay. But now, stepping onto the island triggered the intrusion alarm.
Quickly, a 'Big Bear' army appeared before the group.
"Icemake—"
Ulu and Urutia, sensing danger, prepared defensive ice sculptures—but before they could act, Bonney shouted, "Wait! Sister Ulu! Sister Tia! Don't do anything! He's my father!"
And just like that…
Alas!
