•Willa•
After the doctor leaves, I attempt to walk toward Leiara but Colson stops me.
"You heard the doc, Willa. Let her rest."
His tone is stern, as is his face.
I'm taken a bit aback because I've never had to face any refusal from Colson. He hardly ever tells me no or deprives me something like this.
I stare at him steadily for a moment before I break into a small smile.
"I just want to make sure she's comfortable," I tell him.
Then once again, I attempt to move forward but Colson's gaze turns dark. I can see the frustration simmering and I can feel the anger oozing from him.
"Willa," he calls, tone so calm that it is eerily chilling. "You will leave her be."
It isn't a request or a plea, but a blatant command. Of course, one that even I don't dare defy.
My face tightens up, hurt by how harsh he's coming onto me. That too, because of Leiara.
But I compose myself and force him a smile.
"Sure," I smile and walk out of the room.
