Jolina's POV
Ugh. My stomach was doing this grumbly, whiny thing, like a little monster that lived in my belly. I was still stuck in the stupid car. Mom had only been gone for ten minutes. Maybe fifteen. But it felt like a whole school day. It's enough time to get super tired, right? Especially when you were so busy making sure your mom wore a ugly dress that you forgot to eat breakfast. Well, it's not ugly, it's just not...well, I don't know.
I tapped on my iPad. The game was some boring puzzle where you match colors. Blah. I threw the iPad down on the seat. It made a sad thump. I was so bored I could scream. I pushed myself up on my knees and peeked out the window.
We were parked next to another super-shiny car. It was even bigger than ours.
I froze. Completely.
