Fenric's expression remained calm as the mission prompt echoed in his mind.
To be honest, such a task might be troublesome for other Samsaras.
But for him?
This was nothing.
If Fenric wanted to make a name for himself here, it would be all too easy—just kill a few major figures, and fame would naturally follow.
With his current strength, no one in this world could stop him from doing whatever he wanted.
Perhaps the "Star Boy" in the future could pose a challenge, but right now, that boy hadn't even mastered the Buddha Palm Technique—he was still just an immature brat.
(Note: He's talking about the MC of the story. From his name Sing means Star and he's still in his teens. A boy.)
Fenric strolled into a foreign-style furniture store.
The shop was filled with imported Western furniture, expensive and considered high-class in this era.
Stopping before a full-length mirror, Fenric examined his reflection.
Black hair.
Black eyes.
Sharp features.
The system had given him a default appearance that resembled his real self by about thirty percent, but his body proportions were identical to his own.
"Sir, what can I help you with?" the shopkeeper asked warmly.
Fenric's current attire—a perfectly tailored tuxedo—gave him the air of a wealthy, successful man.
"I just have a question," Fenric replied, his tone polite.
The shopkeeper blinked in mild surprise but answered with equal politeness, "Please ask, sir. If it's something I know, I'll gladly tell you."
"I'm new here," Fenric said with a smile. "I heard there's a hospital nearby called the Abnormal Human Research Center. Do you know where it is?"
That's right. Fenric was looking for Fire Cloud.
The mission could wait. Before anything else, he wanted to test the true strength of martial arts in this world.
And among all martial artists here, the most formidable one was undoubtedly Fire Cloud, once ranked number one on the assassin list.
As for the Star Boy who would later awaken terrifying skill, he would only appear when Pig Sty Alley was on the verge of destruction.
—--
The shopkeeper gave Fenric a wary glance but still pointed down the street.
"Sir, just keep going until you reach the end—you'll see it."
"Much appreciated," Fenric said with a faint smile.
At that moment, several men in black suits entered the shop.
They all had axes tucked at their waists, with matching axe tattoos inked along their necks.
The shopkeeper's face immediately darkened.
"Shopkeeper," the lead man sneered, "time to pay this month's protection fee."
"Right away, right away!" The shopkeeper hurried to the counter, abandoning Fenric and scrambling to retrieve several silver notes.
Fenric merely glanced at the scene and turned to leave.
He'd seen the original movie. He knew well how notorious the Axe Gang was.
Killing on the streets was trivial to them.
Even after a massacre, the local police would still come out—not to arrest them, but to clean up the mess.
If the plot timeline was accurate, the Crocodile Gang had already been wiped out. The Axe Gang now ruled SH City.
Fenric walked leisurely down the bustling street, taking in the scenery.
The sights of the country's past era had their own charm—rickshaw pullers hauling passengers, vendors hawking goods, and locals in old-fashioned robes.
A small street stall selling sweets caught his eye.
The vendor was a clean, delicate-looking young woman with a gentle aura. She smiled warmly at the children crowding her stall, handing them candy despite being unable to speak.
The mute girl.
Fenric instantly recognized her.
Though she had little screen time in the original plot, she was still the story's heroine.
He chuckled faintly but didn't approach.
He was merely passing through.
—--
After an hour, Fenric finally reached the end of the street, arriving at a secluded area.
Before him stood a three-story building, flanked by foreign soldiers on guard.
Fenric's eyes sharpened.
This must be it. Fire Cloud is hiding here.
He walked straight toward the entrance.
"Stop!"
Two soldiers stepped forward, rifles raised. One barked in English, "No trespassing! Leave immediately!"
Fenric didn't even spare them a second glance. With a simple wave of his hand, the two burly men were sent flying.
With his current telekinetic abilities, handling ordinary humans was laughably easy.
A sharp whistle pierced the air—an alarm.
Moments later, dozens of soldiers armed with rifles stormed toward him.
But none could get close. One by one, they were sent sprawling through the air as Fenric walked on, unfazed.
"Fire!"
Gunshots rang out.
Bad move.
If they didn't fire, they'd live. But now…
Pfft! Pfft!
Bullets whizzed back toward their shooters. The soldiers who pulled the trigger were instantly killed, collapsing into pools of blood.
Fenric strode through the chaos, entering the mental hospital.
The building wasn't tall, but it sprawled across a large area. Fenric remembered that Fire Cloud resided in a deep basement room—but he wasn't entirely sure how to get there.
Just then, a foreign officer in a white uniform rushed over.
With a flick of Fenric's hand, the man's body was yanked forward like a ragdoll, slamming into Fenric's grip.
"Tell me where Fire Cloud is," Fenric said calmly.
The officer's eyes went wide as he saw his own gun floating mid-air, its barrel aimed at him. His face turned pale.
"Sir… I—I don't know who Fire Cloud is!" he stammered.
Fenric frowned. He must be living under an alias.
"Take me to the basement," Fenric ordered.
"Yes, sir! Please, this way!" the officer said hastily, leading the way.
—-
A few minutes later, they arrived at the dark, damp basement.
"Sir, the people detained here are all extremely dangerous. May I leave now?"
"Go," Fenric said with a dismissive wave.
The officer bolted as though granted amnesty.
Fenric moved deeper into the basement. He remembered the movie's scenes well—Fire Cloud's room was at the far end, behind an iron door.
It didn't take long for him to find it.
There it was, just as he remembered.
A grin tugged at his lips.
"Found you."
With a single pull, he tore the heavy iron lock off the door.
Clang!
Inside the room sat a half-bald old man with reading glasses, nonchalantly sitting on the toilet, reading a newspaper… while doing his business.
(TL/n: Fire Cloud or The Beast is the old balding man in the pic.)
