Chapter 58 - KRYPT-Ch.58: Perfect Base for the Mission

Matthew Atkinson & Natalie Russell

Second Layer of the Supernatural Realm

Actually, those who followed them were not necessarily acting with malice.

Natalie and Matthew had made a name for themselves in the first layer of the supernatural realm!

With such fame, it was normal for their every move to attract attention.

Regardless of why Natalie insisted on "courting death" by bringing along a "pretty boy," she must have had an extraordinary ability to achieve such a high record.

These people followed them, perhaps just to see what they would do in the Supernatural Realm. And if they could learn something from it, they would.

In modern terms, this was called the "celebrity effect".

As for why there were so many supernatural individuals with bad intentions among them.

Because they thought that Matthew was a gigolo who lived off his girlfriend. And that he was not a threat.

In reality, Matthew obtained 350 spirit energy points. If all of them were added to his attributes, his current total attributes would probably already surpass those of most newly minted superhumans.

The reason Matthew was perceived as "posing no threat" was that, in everyone's view, Kryptonian Bloodlines not only failed to improve attributes through training but also lacked offensive capabilities!

For superhumans, the presence or absence of offensive capabilities and the strength of those capabilities make a huge difference!

For example, if an ordinary person had 350 points of strength, would their combat power be the same as if a werewolf had 350 points of strength?

If a werewolf sweeps its claws across, an ordinary person could die instantly.

And the werewolf bloodline was not even among the top supernatural abilities. It was only powerful in the early stages.

Many supernatural abilities greatly enhanced combat power.

Just like Natalie's!

Her flame's burning ability amplified the damage of her attributes many times over, making it difficult for other freshmen to withstand.

If the four basic attributes were the only way for supernatural individuals to improve their power...

Then those supernatural abilities were the very foundation upon which supernatural individuals rely for survival!

Having power alone, but lacking extraordinary attack methods, significantly diminished a person's threat.

And, as long as someone could get a B-grade mission rating in the first layer of the supernatural realm, with their usual training, their current total attributes wouldn't be much different from Matthew's.

With their powerful supernatural abilities, defeating Matthew would be a piece of cake!

There was another critical point.

That was, if an ordinary person gets 350 attribute points, they couldn't put all the points into strength or into both strength and agility!

A powerful force required a strong physique to support it.

Even the attribute points of the supernatural realm must adhere to this basic fact.

After all, this was the real world, not a game!

How could someone with an average constitution of only 10 points punch with 35 times the power of a human?

Was this possible?

That person probably fell apart before they could even throw that punch.

The constitution attribute might seem inconspicuous among the four attributes, but it couldn't be avoided.

No matter what attribute someone added their attribute points to, they must also add some attribute points to the constitution attribute.

...

For attributes like Strength and Constitution, the minimum ratio should be maintained at around 50%.

In other words, to reach 300 points of Strength, someone needed to have 150 points of Constitution first!

Only in this way would their body not collapse when they exert 30 times the force of a human.

...

The minimum ratio of Agility and Constitution attributes should be maintained at around 20%.

To reach 300 Agility, someone needed to have at least 60 Constitution beforehand.

Only then, when running at 30 times the speed of a human, could the body withstand the strong wind resistance.

...

The minimum ratio of Mental and Constitution attributes was the lowest, only 5%.

This was why, when people trained in strength, agility, or mental attributes, their constitution would improve as well.

According to this rule, because Matthew received 350 attribute points, if he wanted to develop in the direction of strength, he could increase his strength attribute by no more than 233 points.

The remaining 117 attribute points needed to be added to the constitution.

If Matthew focused on both strength and agility, his attack power would be even weaker.

All things considered, how much of a threat could Matthew still pose?

This was the real reason why the strong among the many new students didn't take Matthew seriously!

Of course, what these people didn't know was that Matthew's actual abilities far exceeded their imagination and were terrifying beyond measure.

...

A dozen minutes later.

Matthew and Natalie stood outside a relatively well-preserved building.

This was a rather large mansion, covering an area of at least 1,000 square meters. The outer wall was very high, and the gate was also tall and large.

Probably a mansion of a respectable, high-class family.

The previous owner of this place must have been a prominent figure in the city.

In addition, the mansion was located at the highest point in the city, almost built on a large earthen slope.

When Matthew was standing at the front door, he could take in the scenery of most of the city.

"This place is great!" Matthew nodded in satisfaction. "Natalie, let's make this place our base for tonight!"

"Are you sure?" Natalie couldn't help but frown. "Why do I feel like this place is a conspicuous target?"

The city's highest point was obviously a conspicuous target.

Matthew didn't explain further, but just smiled and said, "I definitely won't trick you, so trust me this time."

Since he's already said that, what else could Natalie say?

After all, she even accepted his "token of love"!

"Okay, I trust you." Natalie immediately said.

Matthew smiled and said, "It's getting late, let's go inside!"

After saying that, he pushed open the door and went inside.

Natalie followed calmly.

Not far away, when the group saw that Matthew and Natalie chose such a place as their base, they were all astonished and puzzled.

Then, they dispersed slowly, each with their own purpose.

...

After Matthew entered the mansion, he took Natalie and checked every corner.

This was to familiarize themself with the environment.

To Matthew's surprise, a vast indoor training ground had been built on the north side of the mansion!

Like a sturdy bunker.

Furthermore, several weapons were displayed on the training ground.

Swords, spears, clubs, you name it!

"Great! This place is really perfect!" Matthew's expression grew increasingly satisfied.

"Natalie, would you like to choose a weapon?" he asked.

"My ability is fire, so I can do it barehanded. Weapons would only be a burden for me." She said.

Matthew nodded and went to choose a weapon himself.

But those swords, spears, and clubs were far too light for him now.

Matthew's current strength attribute has exceeded 600, which is 60 times that of an ordinary person.

The weapons here were all light and brittle to him.

After much deliberation, he finally settled on a pair of golden color war hammers, which at least gave him a sense of weight.

Each of these two golden hammers weighed nearly 75-80 kilograms, so a pair would definitely weigh over 150 kilograms.

Even though they were so heavy for a normal human, Matthew held them easily in his hands and could still easily toss them around like toys.

Seeing this, Natalie couldn't help but ask. "Matthew, is your Kryptonian Bloodline's ability a strength-based one?"

"No!" Matthew smiled and said, "It's an all-around ability!"

When his words fell, suddenly, a monster's howl echoed from afar.

-Waaaaah!

Matthew was taken aback and immediately went outside the training grounds with Natalie.

It turned out that it was already dark.
