Matthew Atkinson & Natalie Russell
Second Layer of the Supernatural Realm
-Thump!
Matthew easily moved a giant iron bell into the courtyard.
Seeing this scene, Natalie immediately understood Matthew's plan.
The girl's eyes widened, her face filled with surprise.
"Matthew... you... You plan to use this to lure all the monsters here?"
"Right!"
Matthew was setting up the iron bell when he casually explained, "Those monsters were too weak. I am too lazy to find them one by one, so I will just lure them here and slaughter them all in one go. This is Plan A. What do you think?"
Upon hearing this, Natalie felt a little dizzy. 'Good heavens!'
Also, wasn't Matthew's explanation too simple for a plan? But judging from Matthew's expression, he wasn't joking at all.
"Was that monster really that weak?" She murmured to herself.
Matthew, however, heard this and retorted, "It couldn't even hurt me. Isn't that considered weak?"
Natalie glanced at Matthew, speechless.
The monsters in the second layer of the supernatural realm were not only very fast, but also had strong attack power!
With its scythe-like arms, it was definitely a nightmare for most freshmen.
Not to mention, this monster also had a tough shell that made it impervious to blades and spears!
To kill a monster like this, it would probably require the cooperation of an entire team.
Even Natalie dared not be careless in the face of such a monster.
But!
For such a monster, the adjective Matthew used was "too weak".
Natalie knew that it wasn't that the monster was weak, but that Matthew was too strong.
At that moment, she finally understood how they managed to kill over two thousand monsters in the first layer of the supernatural realm.
"Alright!"
While Natalie was lost in thought, Matthew had already set up and secured the bell.
Then, Matthew pointed to the training ground and said, "Natalie, the massacre party is about to begin. Do you want to go inside and take shelter? I'm afraid the monsters' blood will splatter on you."
Actually, he was worried about Natalie's safety.
The outer wall of that training ground was quite thick, so it should be safer to hide inside.
Natalie understood Matthew's meaning and shook her head, saying, "No need, I can protect myself."
Matthew glanced at the girl and, seeing that she insisted, nodded and said, "Alright!"
Anyway, he was here.
And with his current speed, even if Natalie were in danger, he could rescue her immediately.
"Oh, right, Natalie."
As if he had just thought of something, Matthew said, "Your mental attributes are higher than mine, and you are also more observant. If you discover that other superhumans are coming, please notify me in time."
Upon hearing this, Natalie immediately understood Matthew's thoughts.
"Sure!" The girl agreed without hesitation.
She could completely understand why Matthew wanted to keep his abilities secret.
After all, there was still a living Kryptonian Bloodline ability owner out there.
If it were her, she also would have done the same as Matthew.
Seeing that the girl readily agreed, Matthew smiled. Truly the perfect wife candidate.
And then, Matthew walked to the large iron bell, picked up the giant log next to it, and gently bumped it against the bell.
He didn't dare to use any force. He was afraid he would smash the bell to pieces in one go.
-Clang
A giant bell rang out immediately.
In the stillness of the moonlit night, the sound of the bell was extremely jarring!
The bell sounds echoed in the night sky, as if from ancient times, and soon spread throughout the entire city.
...
At the same time, at a location in the urban area.
A team from Japan was making careful preparations in the darkness.
On the street in front of them, a monster was wandering aimlessly. And this monster was their target!
To kill the monsters in the second layer of the supernatural realm, they practiced their coordinated tactics for a month, and they suffered a lot!
All for the sake of a good performance tonight.
As long as they could successfully kill some monsters and return, it would all be worth it.
At this moment, the monster seemed to be attracted by the sound of the wind and turned its head to look in another direction.
That's why the monster's huge belly was right in front of these people.
The group immediately realized this.
The opportunity had arrived!
They looked at each other and rushed out from the dark corner where they were hiding.
Just as they were about to attack the monster.
But suddenly…
-Clang
A tremendous bell sound came from somewhere afar.
The monster was immediately startled, let out a howl, and charged in the direction from which the sound came.
It disappeared in the blink of an eye.
The guys who were about to make a move were left standing there, bewildered in the night.
"Damm it!" One of the team's members, enraged, cursed. "Where did that bell sound come from?"
He had barely finished speaking...
-Clang
Another bell rang, and its sound echoed over the city.
The four of them were not idiots. They immediately realized something was wrong.
"Could it be that someone is using the bell sounds to attract monsters?"
"Who would do that? Aren't they afraid of being surrounded by countless monsters?"
"A madman! The person who is doing this is definitely a madman!"
As the bell continued to toll, the group angrily discussed the matter.
At this moment, their captain seemed to realize something, and his expression changed.
"Oh no! Get out of the way! Hide. Quick."
As soon as he finished speaking, the captain darted into the darkness beside him.
The other three teammates were only slightly taken aback before realizing what was happening and quickly hid as well.
As they expected, less than five seconds after they hid, they heard the monster's howl from the side.
-Waaah! Waaah!
Five or six monsters ran past them one after another, frantically rushing toward the direction of the bell.
Seeing this scene, the team members were terrified.
They didn't dare show their faces at all.
After waiting for quite a while and finding no sign of the monsters returning, they dared to peek out from the darkness, then quickly left the area and slipped into a nearby house, finally breathing a sigh of relief.
Then, the four people gathered together to discuss countermeasures.
"Damn it! Which bastard lured all the monsters together? How are we supposed to kill them now?"
A team member with a small mustache and shifty eyes began to curse.
Upon hearing this, the other three also looked quite grim.
Although the supernatural realm wouldn't impose any punitive consequences for failing in the grade mission, after preparing for so long, how could they be willing to return empty-handed?
"If I ever encounter those idiots, I'll have to disembowel them, rip out their hearts, and chop them to pieces to vent my rage!"
Upon hearing this, another team member said, "Monsters will definitely kill those fools who attract them. You won't see them again, Ogino-kun."
The young man, Ogino Kin, was so angry that he slammed his fist into the ground. "What a bunch of annoying bastards!"
"Stop talking nonsense," the third team member said. "Our current problem is that there are no monsters to hunt! We might very well go back empty-handed this time."
"No! I can't accept this outcome!!" Ogino Kin looked at the last young man and asked, "Tanaka-san, what should we do? You're the captain, please think of something!"
Tanaka Akihiro looked in the direction from which the bell tolled, pondered for a moment, and then said in a deep voice, "I need to go and take a look!"
