Tyrion Lannister's tongue was sharp: "Are you trying to tell me that for the sake of so-called duty, you abandoned the excellent qualities of a knight, Ser?"
Ser Adam's icy face turned to anger, and as he gripped the hilt of his sword, a lazy voice sounded behind him: "Hey, if you draw your sword, you'll die."
Tyrion raised his cup in a toast towards the direction behind Ser Adam: "Bronn, you came just in time, my reliable Captain of the Guard."
Bronn slowly walked over, one hand behind his back, holding a dagger.
He bowed, then looked up at Tyrion, his face full of a lewd smile: "Lord Tyrion, always at your command."
Seeing Bronn's face, Tyrion always worried he would betray him on the spot, and each time he needed to hand over a bag of gold dragons to feel a little at ease.
He habitually reached for the money pouch at his waist, but then suddenly paused; now was not the time to "buy" safety, there were outsiders present.
He raised an eyebrow at Bronn, who seemed to understand immediately, his smile becoming even more lewd.
Ser Adam turned his head to look at Bronn, and said coldly: "I don't like dirty Sellswords."
Tyrion said with a grin: "Don't forget the Battle of King's Landing, it was Bronn who helped me defeat Stannis. Back in King's Landing, he will be a Blackwater River Knight personally anointed with holy oil by the Archbishop."
As Tyrion finished speaking, Bronn flicked his right arm and elegantly bowed to Tyrion again: "Thank you for your patronage, Lord Tyrion."
Ser Adam said disdainfully: "Just a lucky Sellsword, that doesn't change your dirty origins."
Ser Adam had shoulder-length dark copper hair, and Bronn's smile deepened: "I'm not a delicate flower like you."
"Tonight, I'll be holding your head, and while I'm at it, let me fill your mouth." Bronn's hand gripped the hilt of his short sword.
"What a pervert," Tyrion couldn't help but shiver.
He scoffed and said: "Bronn, I'm sorry, Ser Adam is a dog sent by my father, I can't give you his head yet."
Bronn smiled and withdrew his hand: "As you wish, my esteemed Lord."
Ser Adam looked at Tyrion and said angrily: "Tyrion, this is an insult!"
Tyrion grinned: "A knight of House Marbrand, it is your honor to be insulted by the noble Lannister lion."
"You!" Ser Adam's face flushed.
Tyrion waved his hand and said: "Withdraw, and quickly report my conspiracy to Lord Tywin. Hurry, don't let my kind father worry about his obedient son; he's not a strong young man, you should consider our Lord of the Westerlands more."
Ser Adam snorted, flung his Lannister red cloak, turned, and strode away.
After Ser Adam left, Bronn picked up the wine jug, poured wine into the cup Edmure had used, swirled the cup, and elegantly took a sip, saying: "Lord Tyrion, are you serious?"
With a smack, Bronn's other hand deftly caught the money pouch Tyrion tossed to him, weighed it, and immediately broke into a wide smile.
He set down the wine cup, took a few steps back from Tyrion, and stood respectfully.
Tyrion grinned: "It seems I've once again successfully curbed your treacherous heart."
Bronn responded with a smile: "Lord Tyrion, you are both generous and wise, I am forever yours."
"At least I believe your loyalty today will not change."
Tyrion tidied his hair, which he had deliberately messed up earlier for the act in front of Edmure, and then said: "Bronn, my dear father kicked me out of the Hand's chair, and… Ser Jacelyn was killed in battle (Commander of the Gold Cloaks, Chapter 258), Lord Tywin won't leave such a delicious cake for me."
Tyrion shifted in his seat, leaning back more comfortably, and continued: "You also know very well that my Queen Regent sister practically adores me, and I'm sure she's eagerly awaiting my return in King's Landing."
He spread his hands: "Cersei won't let me go, including those around me; your head could also excite my Queen Regent sister."
Bronn again showed his lewd smile and said: "If death is unavoidable, I choose to die beneath a beauty's skirt."
Tyrion ignored Bronn's jest. He said seriously: "I won't sit here waiting to die. Not only do we need to rescue Jaime, but we also need to save ourselves."
Bronn's smile faded as he pondered for a moment, then said: "Lord Tyrion, weren't you planning to marry Queen Regent Cersei to the heir of Highgarden?"
Tyrion gently swirled his wine cup, staring at the fine ripples within, and slowly said: "I was preparing for contingencies. The situation before defeating Stannis was one thing, but after defeating Stannis, it's another. Cersei won't easily comply, at least everyone knows she still holds a sword."
After a pause, he continued: "As long as the benefits are substantial enough, Cersei's sword will become very sharp. When my Queen Regent sister is being willful, she will choose to disregard everything; I will not underestimate her."
Bronn's eyes flickered, and he said: "That famous general… Count Kleber?"
Tyrion looked up at Bronn, nodded, and said: "We cannot ignore his other identity: he is Cersei's chief steward, and always has been."
Bronn said with a smile: "Isn't Count Kleber your good friend?"
"He is a good friend."
Tyrion got off his chair, stretched, and said: "But I can't afford to pay more than my sister. Cersei is the Queen Regent; I am not the Hand of the King. She can give things to Green that I cannot."
He grinned: "Including warmth in bed."
Bronn, the Sellsword, nodded understandingly: "Lord Tyrion, if it were me, I would also stand with the Queen Regent. No one can refuse the temptation of power and beautiful women."
Tyrion walked towards the window with his hands behind his back, saying as he went: "So, only when Cersei leaves King's Landing will I dare to openly ally with Count Green."
Bronn followed behind Tyrion, scratching his cheek, and said: "How complicated."
Standing by the window, Tyrion gazed at the sky for a moment, then said: "Lord Tywin needs a stable Seven Kingdoms even more, otherwise he can only watch House Tyrell grow stronger, which is not in the Lannister's interest."
The obscuring dark clouds parted, casting brilliant sunlight. Tyrion squinted slightly and continued: "If… we can resolve the Riverlands and the North through marriage, Lord Tywin would never give up this opportunity, because it is very much in the Lannister's interest. As the obedient son of a kind father, I naturally must serve him."
Tyrion turned to look at Bronn: "As the lovely younger brother of a gentle sister, I naturally must choose a good husband and a warm new home for her."
Bronn scratched his head and said: "My Lord, I must admit… your family's affection is truly deep."
Tyrion chuckled: "Don't be too envious of the Lannister's loving harmony."
Bronn seemed to be sighing: "My Lord, I'm somewhat glad my old man was a hands-off drunk. I should apologize to him for my immaturity when I get the chance."
After a pause, Bronn suddenly said: "So, that's why you instructed me to leave an opportunity for Ser Adam to eavesdrop?"
Tyrion nodded slightly: "In my father's eyes, I'm a profligate son. He trusts his vassals more than his own son."
Bronn couldn't help but sigh again: "Truly loving harmony."
"I told you, don't be too envious. I'm hungry, let's go find something to eat."
Although Bronn was curious about Tyrion's next move, his curiosity was never great, so he silently followed Tyrion towards the dining room.
