Peter POV:
The collider chamber shook with fury. Sparks and arcs of color lashed the walls and from the rubble, Kingpin emerged like a mountain. His suit was shredded, his breath ragged but his rage burned hotter than ever.
"You took them from me!" He roared. His fists slammed the floor, shattering steel plates. "Vanessa! Richard! You all think you can stop me from seeing them again? I'll crush you where you stand!"
Gwen held her Peter close, webbing him to her back to keep him safe. Her heart pounded but her eyes steeled with resolve. "You lost them because of your own actions!! And you'll never get them back."
"Then you'll share their grave." Kingpin lunged, his shadow swallowing the chamber.
Miles fired webs at his arms, pulling tight but Kingpin ripped them free with sheer brute force. Peter B. dove, tackling him low but the crime lord barely staggered.
Then Gwendolyn leapt into the fray.
Her armored boots slammed against Kingpin's chest, driving him back. She spun, blades of contained plasma flashing from the ends of her spider limbs, flash vaporising the flesh in blood in a explosion of superheated steam. Yet he still swung like a wrecking ball but she ducked beneath, her fists hammering against his ribs with concussive shockwaves.
"You don't get to take anything else from anyone!" She shouted, slamming both palms into his jaw with a thunderous crack.
Kingpin snarled, grabbing her midair and slamming her into the floor. But the energy shielding of her armor flared to life, reinforcing the impact. She rolled free just as his fist cratered the ground where she'd lain.
Miles darted in, his venom punch flashing against Kingpin's cheek. Gwen spun webs to blind him. Peter B. swung wide, his kick cracking into Kingpin's temple. But even surrounded, he fought like a titan, throwing them off one by one.
Amid the chaos, I raised the Dominator, its cyan glow searing.
"I end this now."
But Gwen's voice cut sharp through the noise.
"No! Killing him won't fix this!"
My jaw was tight. I didn't lower the gun.
"You think sparing him is mercy? You're wrong. Living is agony for a man like him. Every breath without Vanessa and Richard is torture. Death would free him."
Gwen staggered, still panting, shaking her head. "That's not who we are. Spider-Man doesn't kill nor does Spider-Woman."
The chamber was thick with tension. My hand lingered on the trigger but at last, I growled low and let the weapon dip. "Then hold him. I'll break what remains of the collider instead."
The battle surged again. Gwendolyn struck first, her fists hammering Kingpin's chest with furious precision. Miles swung low, venom blasting his legs. Peter B. webbed his arms tight, straining with every muscle. Gwen slid beneath, her webbing tangling his ankles.
"NOW!" She shouted.
I pressed the green button. The collider screamed, arcs of energy and objects snapping inward as the mirages of Vanessa and Richard fractured and collapsed into nothingness. Permanently.
Kingpin bellowed. "No! You can't take them from me again!" He tore through the webs, staggering forward, his rage unchecked.
Miles stood his ground. His chest heaved, fists sparking with venom. He remembered Peter B.'s words. The leap of faith.
He leapt, striking with all the force in his body. The venom punch cracked against Kingpin's jaw like thunder.
The giant staggered. Gwendolyn slammed a nanoblade into his thigh, Gwen pulled his feet out from under him, and Peter B. tackled him from the side.
Kingpin fell. The chamber shook with his collapse.
For a moment, silence.
He groaned, pinned beneath the rubble, his chest still heaving. Alive.
Gwen whispered, mask trembling. "It's over."
But I stepped forward. The Dominator's voice cut cold.
"MATERIAL DECOMPOSER. ENGAGED."
Kingpin's eyes widened then he shut them with relief and acceptance as the beam engulfed him. Light seared through flesh and steel alike, unraveling him on a molecular level. In seconds, there was nothing left. No body, no bones, no trace. Only ash, gone with the next breath of air.
The Spiders stood in silence, the hum of the weapon fading.
I holstered the Dominator, my voice flat, final.
"No one will desecrate his corpse. No one will twist his body into another monster. His story ends here. Also, I'm Peter Parker but not Spider-Man."
Gwendolyn exhaled hard, her armor dimming as she put a hand on my shoulder. Gwen held her Peter close, trembling but steady. Miles clenched his fists, looking between them all, the weight of what they'd done heavy on his shoulders.
The collider was dead. Kingpin was gone.
But in the air, the echo of the collider and my words lingered like smoke.
While Lieutenant Jefferson saw the whole scene from the destroyed control room. His mind too dazed to notice the Spider people leave.
There will be an one week hiatus on the story.
