Chapter 600 - The Fall

The field was no longer the same.

The war continued around us—intense, chaotic, full of sound and movement. But at the center… everything felt more direct. Clearer. As if the confrontation had been reduced to something essential.

He was still standing.

But not intact.

The difference was visible now. Heavier breathing, more restrained movements, a less stable aura. Still dangerous… but no longer absolute.

I held my stance.

The golden armor remained firm, flowing through my body without resistance. There was no longer that risk of losing control. Everything responded as it should.

Scarlett stood by my side, ready. Rai'kanna pressured the enemy line from a distance. Lyannis moved like a living shadow. Liriel and Elara sustained the unstable field. Vespera kept everything organized.

All still there.

All still fighting.

But now…

There was only one focus.

I advanced.

He responded instantly.

The clash of blades echoed louder than before, as if the field itself reacted to the impact. There was no hesitation on either side anymore.

Direct attack.

Dodge.

Counterattack.

A continuous sequence.

This time, neither of us stepped back from the first impact.

The difference in strength was balanced.

But it wasn't just that.

It was decision.

Every strike carried clear intent. There was no room for testing. No margin for error.

Scarlett moved in from the side, forcing an opening. He dodged, but the movement was slower than before.

I took advantage.

I advanced with her.

The attack came in sequence, without pause.

He blocked.

But gave half a step.

Rai'kanna advanced from afar, breaking another line of demons and forcing instability in the field. Lyannis appeared right after, creating a distraction on the flank.

Liriel increased the magical pressure.

Elara adjusted.

Vespera maintained the rhythm.

Everything working.

But it still wasn't the end.

The general changed.

His aura intensified again, trying to regain dominance. The pressure returned stronger, heavy, trying to crush the space around us.

But not like before.

Now…

It couldn't sustain itself.

I blocked another strike.

This time, I didn't feel the same weight.

He tried to advance.

I responded.

Movement for movement.

No delay.

No loss.

The difference was clear.

I attacked with more force.

He blocked.

But the impact went through.

Another cut.

Deeper.

The first real sign of damage.

He stepped back.

Two steps.

Not by choice.

By necessity.

Silence didn't come, but something changed.

The entire field seemed to recognize it.

"So you've come this far," he said, his voice lower.

I didn't answer.

There was nothing left to say.

I advanced again.

Faster.

More direct.

He tried to keep up.

But now…

It was different.

His movements were still precise, but not perfect. Small delays. Small flaws.

Enough.

Scarlett attacked alongside me.

Lyannis appeared at his blind spot.

Rai'kanna pressured another point.

Liriel and Elara kept the field unstable.

Vespera adjusted the final rhythm.

Everything converged.

The general tried to react.

But for the first time…

He was truly being pressured.

I attacked in sequence.

Once, twice, three times.

Without pause.

Without space.

He blocked two.

The third went through.

A direct cut.

Deeper.

His body recoiled.

His aura wavered.

The pressure dropped.

"Now!" I heard Rai'kanna's voice in the distance.

I didn't hesitate.

The armor's energy responded immediately.

I focused.

Not on brute force.

But on precision.

Everything aligned.

A single movement.

Direct.

I advanced.

He tried to block.

But he was late.

My blade met his…

And passed through.

The impact was clean.

No excess.

No waste.

The energy pierced the defense.

And struck.

His body froze for an instant.

The entire field seemed to freeze.

And then…

His aura shattered.

Like something that could no longer sustain itself.

He fell to his knees.

Silence came.

This time…

Complete.

The war around us still existed.

But at that point…

Everything stopped.

I stood in front of him.

Controlled breathing.

Steady body.

The armor still active.

He slowly lifted his gaze.

No anger.

No despair.

Just… acceptance.

"So… this is how it ends," he said.

I didn't answer.

Because there was no need.

He already knew.

The battle was over.

His aura disappeared completely.

The weight vanished.

And then…

His body gave in.

Falling.

Without resistance.

Without reaction.

The third general of the demons…

Had been defeated.

The silence lasted a few seconds.

And then…

The sound returned.

Shouts.

Movement.

The enemy army began to retreat.

Without command.

Without direction.

The line broke.

The war…

Had turned.

Scarlett approached.

Rai'kanna arrived soon after.

Lyannis appeared with a faint smile.

Liriel breathed deeply.

Elara observed.

Vespera confirmed the field.

All there.

All standing.

I looked around.

And understood.

It was over.

Not the entire war.

But that battle.

The most important one.

I took a deep breath.

And for the first time since the beginning…

The weight disappeared completely.

Because in that moment…

Victory was no longer a doubt.

It was reality.
