Chapter 78 - Chapter 24

"War! War! War!"

The Four Heavenly Kings of the Moon Empire played a drinking game where you would take a drink every time someone said 'war'…

They had been chanting War! over and over again for the last two days.

Having a valid reason to go off and have no responsibility, they were on their worst behaviour… it would take a couple days to mobilize everything for the march…

They moved up the nude judging of the women models for the erotic statues… in case they died, they didn't want anyone to pick for them or worse cancel the project

The four men also posed for their own statues, they decided to also be in the nude but they held their weapons… also they wanted the statues to be erect.

They actually ordered the Priestesses and Amazons to stay behind. A bunch of Amazons were pregnant now… all 4 men were sweating in fear at the thought of extra hormonal Amazons… the Moon Empire was basically a theocracy as the High Priestesses had the second most authority compared to the Kings, they needed to stay for the day to day operations.

War was a safer and more fun environment.

Lined up outside of the Fortress stood the Kings.

Maro was in his beautiful white plate armour with gold trim, his great maul in one hand and his matching shield in the other.

Kadrin to his right stood in his Blood Red Dwarven plate armour with the gold trim, a solid metal ornate spear in one hand and his large shield in the other.

Gnarlo on the other side, gleamed and reflected the sun even more so than Maro. His Gold crown on his head, gold Trolls head scepter in one hand, gold chains, rings, piercings adorned his body.

Goldie had his gear crafted somewhat hastily but he looked no less regal. The Dwarves outfitted him in light Green scale armour, the scales were different shades of green and sparkled whenever he moved.

And he was outfitted with a large warbow, it was as tall as him, made of a special alloy the Dwarves cooked up. It was decorated with gold skulls of orcs and goblins.

Behind the Kings stood 2000 Dwarven heavy troops in marching formation… wearing their beautiful ebony armour with the ivory trim… following them were 1000 human archers, Two hundred of Maro's special forces and Gnarlo bringing both Bellina and Rolf along. A very intimidating sight.

The march to war was initiated by Maro, he infused his Great Maul with Holy Judgement and hit his shield with it. An echo of holy energy reverberated across the army and the crowds watching… civilians were crying, they all thought they were just blessed by the prophet. People were crying that they shouldn't go to war in fear of losing their Kings.

The people adored them… 50% off alcohol on Saturdays helped more than anyone expected.

Their egos brimming to the edge of narcissism, they took off marching.

Nothing could stand up to the Heavy plate, low centre of gravity frontline of the Dwarves and the human archers from behind shooting right over their heads… Orc and Goblin tactics were non-existent aside from swarming.

They ploughed through tribe after tribe of unrelated Orcs and Goblins… took no damage… it wasn't enough… it didn't feel satisfying.

Gnarlo was always a day behind, not because he was a trump card or anything but because Bellina and Rolf ate their fill after every battle and would go into a deep sleep every single time… it frustrated the hell out of Gnarlo…

Every day they got closer and the density of the goblins increased, but they were all easy battles… every one felt blue balled.

They even liberated their old logging camp, however all the order races were long gone after being pushed out by the goblins.

Now near the edge of the forest, Maro decided to fly up and scout ahead… What he saw was terror… for the goblins.

The goblins had clear cut and burned kilometres of the forest as far as the eye could see… just gone. And in its place were thousands of Goblin tents and encampments…

Goblins aren't really known for setting a defensive perimeter… the entire horizon of Goblin tents were just their Elderly, women and children…. They had arrived at the back of their war camp, all the Goblins that could fight were on the other side. Maro went down to notify his men.

What followed was a genocide of epic proportions, elderly were knocked over and had their skulls crushed under foot, mothers watched as goblin children were punted… the dwarves had a contest to see who could have the most goblins skewered, a soldier won with 11 Goblin babies.

The Archers and Goldie were messing around with their targets, high tier targets were pregnant Goblins… With his new Large bow, Goldie was sniping goblins from hundreds of meters away.

This density of Goblins was more satisfying to slaughter, every swing of a weapon killed at least 3 and every arrow skewered two at a time.

Three generations and tens of thousands of Goblins were wiped out in one day, the ground was soaked in blood… their bodies would be used to fertilize the ground they defiled.

After the civilians were slaughtered they immediately took up a defensive square formation with the Archers in the middle and the swordsmen lounging, waiting to cover gaps and commit fast counter attacks.

They didn't have to wait long… the news reached the front line goblins and within an hour they were surrounded on all sides by hundreds of thousands of goblins… this would be a war of attrition.

Impenetrable Dwarven steel vs swarms and swarms of Goblins…the strategy worked well enough in the tunnels where numbers couldn't be used to their fullest… but now they were completely encircled by enraged goblins seeking revenge.

Despite how it seemed the boys were all happy… Kadrin and Goldie quickly became fast friends, Kadrin took out a sack of live Goblin babies and started throwing them in the air while squealing and Goldie would shoot them as target practice.

It created roars throughout the Goblin lines but not as much as when Kadrin walked outside of the defensive line and started crushing baby after baby with his bare hands… that got some mages angry enough to cast spells, only for Goldie to snipe them before they could finish the cast.

The charge was coming so Maro unfurled his Golden wings, flew high and pounded his shield with his holy infused maul. It radiated holy energy amongst his troops and when it coursed throughout the goblins it made them feel uneasy… but still the gong was rung and the Goblins charged.

The Dwarven lines braced and easily stopped the charge. However in their frenzy, they climbed over each other until there was a hill of goblins surrounding them and they were jumping off each other to get over the lines.

No one was stressed, they expected this, Goblins were easily cut down by the masses. The Goblins had dozens of mages amongst their ranks but their view was blocked from all angles by mounds of goblins… they couldn't get a clear shot… but they didn't care.

Fire ball after fireball after element after element blew apart hundreds of their own goblins at a time. Yet they kept casting and the Goblins kept running towards them.

Any goblin melee classes were useless, they had 0 room for any maneuvers, they were killed just as fast as regular goblins.

Kadrin had joined the front lines, Goldie was seamlessly switching between his knives and bow and Maro was flying looking around to drop Holy judgment bombs with his great Maul, killing hundreds of Goblins with every dive bomb.

After a full day and night of fighting, Gnarlo and his Trolls arrived from behind and absolutely ploughed all Goblins in their way… Bellina was death incarnate; she swung fully grown trees as maces around, taking out countless with every swing.

After another 2 days of fighting, it finally settled down… they had basically cleared the entire south east of the continent of any Goblin alive. No existing army on the continent would have survived a pitched battle on open terrain like this.

Every man was satisfied with the death they brought, every archer and Dwarf had a kill count in the hundreds.

Bellina and Maro had slain thousands each, Gnarlo counted them as his own kills… They looted a bunch of coin. Chests and chests and chests of copper, silver and gold coins plus any Elven goods they had stolen for themselves. The campaign had been incredibly profitable.
