A century ago
Nine Elders sat surrounding the circular table. The map of the human realm displayed at the center through a gigantic orb fueled by manna. Grim faces tracing each of their faces, looking at the orb.
"The sacred rule in over a millennium has been broken," the Elder Sorcerer sighs, "and the worse case is if those humans will soon think beyond, the order of the two realms will turn upside down."
The Elder Werewolf scoffed at the Vampire. "If your kind had been considerate enough, this wouldn't have happened!"
"Oh please, old beast. It wasn't my fault you let those troublemakers on the loose. Why blame somebody else?" Elder Vampire replied.
"It's actually the two of you to blame." Elder Fairy tells them.
"The damage has been done. Arguing like cats and dogs won't change a thing." Elder Wizard says.
"We have already terminated a rule against intercourse between two different races here in the magic realm after one fairy had a mischief with a goblin during Interchange of Races. But, a human with a magic being? This is beyond the boundary already!" The Vampire argued.
"If we're lucky enough, the exiled will do their best to blend in the human world without causing trouble..." Elder Elf pursed a lip.
"No can do." Elder Goblin argued. "How can you expect someone to hide a secret for a long time till they die? And it's not just their own, but their offspring too?"
"They must be erased. Send ascenders to hunt them down and leave no trace of their existence." Elder Werewolf suggested.
"Wouldn't that be diabolical?" Elder Mermaid looked at the werewolf.
"Do you have a better idea?"
"Take them back here?"
"Take them back and what? Pretend like they never committed a grave sin? And what of the human family?"
"We can take them too."
"We can't keep humans here!" Elder Werewolf raged. "And they're not gonna last a year even if we do."
"Why?" Elder Fairy looked at him, suspicious.
The old werewolf slammed both hands on the table, capturing everyone's attention.
"Think about it." He growled. "Humans cannot live with us. Werewolves, vampires, goblins, our nature desires flesh. Centaurs? Can they really stand the heat of our star? The astreole is unlike the sun's mere radiation, they'll burn in less than an hour."
"Since you're so genuine about keeping them, Elder Mermaid, why don't you keep them to your lair?" Elder Vampire suggests.
"They don't even live with the waters." Elder Mermaid tells him. "I'm just telling you to at least show mercy. What about the fairies?"
"Can they fly? Can they live in the sky without falling?" Elder Fairy invoked.
"What about the elves?"
"We don't welcome werewolves in our land." Elder Elf declared.
"Wizard?"
"They won't last a day. You know how cunning our race are." Elder Wizard sighed.
"Sorcerer, you're our only hope."
"All of these is caused because of you lot's endless craziness. Not once in the historical records have sorcerers caused problems like this and we will not keep those troublemakers in our land. So when it comes to this, it's either keep them someplace in each of your land or hunt them down and erase them." Elder Sorcerer proclaimed.
"Sounds reasonable." Elder Vampire cooed. "I won't keep them at my place."
"Me neither." The others followed.
"It should be the werewolf's responsibility." Elder Mermaid muttered.
"We don't welcome traitors of their kind warmly. It's synonymous as hunt them down and wipe their sin from history." Elder Werewolf growls.
"Then it's final." Elder Wizard declared. "We'll send ascenders to hunt them down and leave no trace of their existence."
Thus, seven ascenders are tasked to dwell in the human realm to eliminate the exiled and their families by the orders of the Nine Elders.
However, not one came back alive. The case is still a mystery of how they actually died.
The only thing they know is that the seven ascenders died in the Great War that happened in the human realm.
Due to the failed extermination, the magic realm fell into chaos and news spread like wildfire. Amidst the chaos ignited the corrupted energy of the Dark Void, an ancient corrupted magic that was in a deep slumber for many years. It released countless corrupted beings that lurked in the magic realm and through the boundary tear, some had gone off into the human world.
