A deep, thunderous rumble shook the forest. Trees began to topple, one after another, and a colossal figure gradually emerged before Eli and his companions.
The creature towered over fifty meters tall. Eli could not help but internally mutter in disbelief. The world of pirates was utterly unreasonable. Dinosaurs were not supposed to be this enormous, and this was not a long-necked type it was sheer height from head to tail. As for the species, Eli had no idea. It vaguely resembled the Tyrannosaurus Rex he had seen online in his previous life, though its forelimbs were unusually long compared to a T-Rex.
The massive dinosaur froze at the sight of the smaller, fallen dinosaur nearby, which lay motionless on the ground. Instantly, it erupted in rage, letting out a deafening roar as it lifted its gigantic foot and stomped toward Eli and the others.
Reacting instantly, Dotai leapt forward, his gauntleted fist slamming into the descending foot. The collision sent a shockwave tearing through the surrounding forest, uprooting trees as if they were mere twigs.
Dotai landed back beside Eli, steady as ever, while the enormous dinosaur staggered back a few steps. Its right leg trembled slightly the result of Dotai not even using the full power of his Devil Fruit-enhanced gauntlets. Otherwise, one strike could have crippled the beast.
The dinosaur opened its massive, blood-filled jaws and roared again. Its thick tail, as strong as a giant serpent, swept across the battlefield with destructive force, threatening to flatten everything in its path.
Big Pan scowled, clearly irritated. "Hmph! You think just because you're big you can fight us all at once?"
Without hesitation, Big Pan stepped forward. Muscles rippled across his arms, stretching his sleeves to the limit. He inhaled deeply, then threw his arms around the dinosaur's tail, gripping it tightly.
The force of the tail was immense. Big Pan was dragged backward several meters, leaving a deep gouge in the ground as dust erupted into the air. Yet he did not flinch. Instead, he grinned, showing perfect white teeth. "Ha! You're strong, I'll give you that. But now, it's my turn!"
With a powerful twist of his waist, he swung the tail around, spinning the dinosaur like a massive battering ram.
Eli stood nearby, dumbfounded. "Big Pan! Are you crazy? If you swing it like that, you might hit us too!" He quickly pulled Filina and the others to a safe distance.
Big Pan, lost in the thrill of wrestling the dinosaur, paid no attention to Eli's warning. He tightened his grip and increased the speed of the spins.
After two full rotations, Big Pan let out a mighty roar and released the tail. The dinosaur shot through the air like a cannonball, crashing to the ground with a deafening boom that sent up clouds of dust and debris.
"Ha! Know my strength now!" Big Pan laughed triumphantly.
"Big Pan, you almost hit us back there!" Filina scolded.
"Uh… it was an accident. You believe me, right?" Big Pan's confident expression faltered slightly, his voice tinged with embarrassment.
"Accident, huh? Take this!" Filina shouted, and a dark cloud formed above Big Pan. A bolt of lightning arced down, causing his hair to stand on end like a porcupine.
Filina's playful grin spread from ear to ear. "Ha! Got you!"
Everyone else could not help but laugh at the sight.
Suddenly, a deep, resonant voice boomed from the distance. "Who dares disturb my sleep?"
Another equally loud voice answered, "Broggy, is it time for our duel?"
"No, Donly. It seems some intruders have landed on the island," the first voice replied.
Eli's eyes narrowed. From their conversation, he realized these were the two giant warriors who had been rivals on this island for nearly a century Blue Oni Donly and Red Oni Broggy.
Eli turned to his companions, smiling. "Looks like this island has its own rulers. Let's go pay them a visit."
Leading the way, Eli flew toward the source of the voices, the others following closely.
Meanwhile, Big Pan, still holding the dinosaur tail, stared blankly at the fallen beast. "Wait, weren't we supposed to barbecue this? What are we going to do now?"
Eli and the others were already far ahead. With a sigh, Big Pan hoisted the tail and started dragging it after them.
In the distance, Broggy chuckled. "Ha! A few little humans, huh?"
Donly laughed as well. "Heh, it seems today our duel will have to wait."
Soon, Eli and his companions arrived before the two giants.
"You must be Blue Oni Donly and Red Oni Broggy," Eli greeted with a friendly smile.
Donly stood around 22 meters tall, wearing an iron-faced helmet and a long beard. A dark blue cape draped over his warrior's armor, with a white fur-lined belt around his waist. He wore brown trousers and sturdy boots, wielding a massive longsword in his right hand and a round shield in his left. His presence radiated sheer ferocity.
Broggy was slightly shorter, about a meter less in height, and much stockier. He wore a spiked iron helmet and had a yellow beard. Like Donly, he wore a dark blue cape and warrior's armor with a white fur belt. He wore checkered knee-length pants and brown boots, holding a huge battle axe in his right hand and a round shield in his left. He looked more jovial and approachable than Donly.
Donly was surprised that a human child could even recognize them.
"How do you know who we are, little one?" Donly asked, curiosity sparkling in his eyes.
Eli smiled. "Your names are quite famous in this region of the sea."
Broggy laughed heartily. "Interesting little human. By the way, do you have any wine?"
At this, Donly's eyes lit up. Wine was scarce on Little Garden. It had been over a year since anyone had arrived, and they had longed for a good drink.
"Of course! I can't promise abundance, but you can enjoy a proper drink," Eli replied with a grin.
Donly clapped his hands happily. "You're a good soul. What are your names? Pirates?"
"I'm Eli Winters, a traveling adventurer, not a pirate. These are my companions," Eli said.
"I'm Filina," Filina said with a playful smile.
"I'm Fiona," Fiona said calmly.
"I'm Dotai," Dotai said with a slight nod.
"I'm Chiyo, a chef. Nice to meet you all," Chiyo said politely.
"I'm Reiju, currently a doctor," Reiju said with a warm smile.
"I'm Kree, I play the flute," Kree said shyly.
"I'm Broggy, hello there," Broggy said jovially.
"And I'm Donly. Welcome to Little Garden," Donly said.
At that moment, Big Pan dragged the dinosaur toward them, panting heavily. Seeing the two giants, his eyes widened. "Wow! These guys are huge. They must eat a lot!" The others could only shake their heads in amusement.
Donly eyed the dinosaur. "Did you hunt this? Not bad."
"Ha! It's nothing, this guy's not too strong," Big Pan replied modestly.
Donly and Broggy exchanged a glance before bursting into laughter.
"Then tonight, let's have a grand feast," Donly declared.
Everyone cheered and began preparing for dinner. Chiyo took charge of cooking, while Big Pan and the others helped. Soon, the smell of roasting meat filled the air.
They sat together, drinking and eating in great merriment. Kree played lively tunes on his flute, and everyone clapped and hummed along.
During the evening, Donly and Broggy regaled Eli and his friends with stories of the Grand Line, expanding their knowledge and experience.
The feast continued until the following morning. After drinking a little too much, the two giants suddenly began to brawl, startling Filina and the others. Eli, however, remained unfazed. This was perfectly normal these two had been rivals for nearly ninety years.
Mid-battle, Big Pan's fingers itched, and he could not resist joining the fray.
Instantly, the three clashed violently, shaking the island and sending animals fleeing in terror.
Eli and the others watched with fascination, unaware that a cunning plot was already quietly unfolding in the shadows.
