Time had passed like a fleeting moment, and before anyone realized it, four months had slipped away. Just as Eli Winters had predicted, he had remained in Seven Rivers City throughout this period, yet the World Government had sent no agents to harass Iceberg or Tom. Still, both Eli and Iceberg knew the truth: the World Government would never simply let things rest. Once Eli chose to leave, the government's relentless ironclad forces would descend upon Seven Rivers City without hesitation, bringing chaos and bloodshed.
Amidst this tense yet deceptive calm, the culmination of five months of tireless work finally arrived. The ship Eli had dreamt of day and night, the vessel he had longed for, was complete.
Eli and his companions stood shoulder to shoulder before a massive structure concealed beneath a deep teal tarp. All eyes instinctively focused on the enormous shape, anticipation shining in every gaze.
A hearty laugh broke the silence. It was Tom, grinning broadly. "Hahaha, Eli, you've hit the jackpot this time! I've put every valuable resource I could into building this ship!" His pride and excitement were unmistakable, his voice booming with unrestrained joy.
Eli chuckled in response. "Haha, then we'd better see what all the fuss is about!"
Tom's voice rang with confidence. "You won't be disappointed. Iceberg, go ahead and unveil it."
Like an arrow released from a bow, Iceberg darted to a small control panel tucked in the corner. Without hesitation, he pressed the prominent red button.
Instantly, a deafening mechanical roar filled the air. The massive tarp slowly lifted, hauled upward by thick ropes that strained under the weight, revealing the ship beneath.
As the cover rose fully, a breathtaking vessel emerged. Its primary color was a deep, regal blue, accented with sleek silver stripes that added elegance and authority. From afar, it resembled a colossal sea creature lurking just below the waves, poised to break free and assert its dominance.
Gasps of awe escaped the onlookers. The ship's lines were smooth and natural, like a masterfully sculpted work of art. The prow resembled a razor-sharp blade capable of cutting through tempestuous seas, while the hull radiated a mysterious, almost otherworldly aura, hinting at immense hidden power.
Tom noticed the astonished expressions and allowed a proud smile to spread across his face. "Well? This ship hasn't disappointed, has it?"
Eli laughed with satisfaction. "Hahaha, it's even more imposing than I imagined! But… I wonder how it performs in practice?"
Appearance alone was not enough. Eli knew the ship's performance was what truly mattered. Only a vessel with exceptional capabilities could navigate stormy seas safely and undertake demanding missions.
"Come aboard," Tom said, stepping forward with a flourish. "I'll give you a tour and show you all its unique features."
Once everyone was on board, Tom began the detailed introduction.
Ship Specifications and Design
The ship measured 98 meters in length and 43 meters in width. It relied primarily on four massive sails, enhanced by sophisticated mechanical designs integrated with an intelligent system.
The three-decked vessel exuded grandeur and authority. Constructed with Adamium, the hull was both sturdy and durable, able to withstand extreme weather and artillery attacks. Integrated memory metal allowed it to self-repair from damage automatically.
The ship's lines were sleek, the prow adorned with a giant black-and-white angel statue symbolizing power and dignity. The streamlined stern enhanced sailing speed.
Power System
The vessel had two energy sources. The first was high-capacity solar panels covering the entire deck, efficiently converting sunlight into electricity even on cloudy days. A massive battery stored surplus energy for lighting, machinery, and essential systems.
The second was a compact nuclear-powered device at the bottom, reserved for emergencies.
Functional Areas
Recreation Deck: Located midship, furnished with comfortable sofas, tables, and entertainment like board games and music players for crew relaxation.
Greenhouse: Positioned at the aft of the second deck, using vertical planting techniques. It grew vegetables, fruits, and herbs for daily consumption, along with mystical plants Eli had acquired, such as Power Trees and Origin Trees.
Swimming Pool: At the stern, designed with filtered seawater, complete with a waterslide and fountains for exercise and leisure.
Aquarium: A massive, three-deck-spanning tank housing a variety of marine life for both aesthetic and practical purposes.
Living Quarters: Located on the first deck sides, each cabin was private, equipped with bathrooms, wardrobes, and desks.
Control Room: On the top deck, offering panoramic views of the ocean.
Weapon Systems
Annihilation Cannon: Mounted on the prow, three meters in diameter, using energy compression to unleash devastating attacks capable of sinking small islands.
Defense System: Automated turrets along the sides to intercept enemy projectiles and flying objects.
Propulsion
The ship utilized modern hybrid power from nuclear and electric energy, capable of speeds up to 50 knots with exceptional endurance.
Flight Capability
Mechanical aerial systems under the hull included propellers and thrusters, allowing flight up to 1,000 meters for versatile operations.
Intelligent Systems
Automated energy management, hull monitoring, navigation, and combat support ensured the vessel was not only a formidable warship but also a floating paradise, perfect for living, leisure, and battle a true "dream ship" in the pirate world.
"This ship is incredible, Eli," Filina said, beaming.
Everyone else voiced their admiration as well.
Tom's pride shone. "Hahaha, Eli, I didn't let you down, did I?"
Eli ran his hands along the hull, his fondness evident. "Tom, you've truly outdone yourself."
"Now we just need a name," Tom said, grinning.
Eli turned to his companions, their expectant gazes urging him. He whispered the name he had long chosen: "Angel's Judgment. A free angel, passing judgment on all evil."
The crew murmured the name, their eyes lighting up. "Angel's Judgment it is," they agreed unanimously.
Eli gazed at the black-and-white angel on the prow. "You'll be with us on every voyage from now on," he said quietly.
The name was painted onto the hull, and the Angel's Judgment was ready to sail.
Having spent nearly half a year in Seven Rivers City, Eli and his team prepared to move on. He instructed his companions to gather supplies while following Iceberg and the others into a spacious office.
Iceberg turned suddenly, his expression grave. "Eli, the care of my teacher is entrusted entirely to you!" He bowed deeply, conveying his earnest reliance.
Tom, who had been caught up in excitement, fell silent. He walked slowly to a sofa, sitting with a stern expression, lips sealed.
Initially, Tom had resisted leaving with Eli. He believed that if he stayed, the World Government might cease pursuing his disciples and friends. But Eli explained that even if Tom sacrificed himself, as long as he kept the Grim Reaper blueprints, the government's attention would remain fixed on Iceberg and others. Securing the blueprints was the government's true objective.
After careful consideration, Tom agreed to Eli's plan. By leaving with Eli, they could declare that the blueprints were taken, diverting the World Government's focus away from Iceberg and his companions.
"Taking Tom is one thing, but can you handle any questions from the World Government?" Eli asked.
"No problem. Seven Rivers City is a key shipyard for the government. They need us, so they won't make things too difficult," Iceberg replied with a confident smile.
Satisfied, Eli said, "If danger arises, channel energy into the silver coin I gave you. I'll come immediately."
"Understood," Iceberg said gratefully.
"I'll prepare some things. We'll likely set off tomorrow, is that okay?" Eli asked Tom.
Tom shook his head silently.
Eli understood. The old man was brooding, so he bid farewell and left.
Once Eli's footsteps faded down the corridor, the office fell silent, leaving only Tom and Iceberg.
Tom stood motionless, a complex mixture of solemnity and regret on his face. He parted his lips as if to speak, but nothing came out. His unsaid words turned into a heavy sigh.
He reached out, lightly patting Iceberg's broad shoulder, silently conveying his unspoken apologies. Then, he turned and slowly left the room, his steps measured and solemn, leaving a solitary figure behind.
Iceberg remained still, watching his mentor leave. When the door closed softly, a faint smile appeared on his usually stoic face. He knew that with his teacher leaving alongside Eli, the risk of a deadly mission had greatly diminished. A weight lifted from his heart as he thought: "This is for the best."
His thoughts drifted to his younger master brother, who always caused him headaches. Though they had grown up as brothers under Tom's care, ideological differences had kept them distant. Iceberg frowned, realizing it would not be easy to calmly explain the teacher's departure to him.
Soon, Eli's team had prepared all supplies and loaded them onto the Angel's Judgment.
The next morning, they arrived at the dock early. The ship had been brought here the night before.
At the dock, Tom was saying goodbye to a young man wearing only underwear.
"Why are you leaving, old man? You're so old, and yet you're fooling around with us!" Frank cried, tears streaming down his face.
Tom sighed, a vein of exasperation forming. This idiot never changed, but he let it slide.
"Iceberg, keep an eye on Frank," Tom said seriously.
"Understood, teacher," Iceberg replied with a hint of reluctance.
"Old man, you leave, fine, but it feels like I'm not as important as my brother," Frank complained.
"Forget it. Take care of yourself," Tom muttered, turning away.
After a brief farewell to Iceberg, Eli and his team boarded the Angel's Judgment.
Standing at the bow, Eli shouted, "Alright, brothers, let's set sail!"
"Aye, Captain!" came the response from eight voices.
"Woof!"
"Toot " The shrill blast of the horn sounded as the Angel's Judgment slowly glided into the open sea.
