Nox looked towards the direction of the sound, only to see Grans standing there with a smile on her face.
Skye looked absolutely terrified as she slowly turned around.
"I see you managed to figure it out," She said with a smile, "the mistake of leaving the Eastern part of the forest without a barrier was my fault so I'm willing to forget whatever you just said,"
"So then children," she stepped forward with a grin on her face, "won't you step back into the barrier Grans made?"
Grans' smile widened, stretching just a little too far, the wrinkles on her face pulling in unnatural ways.
The ground beneath her feet darkened.
Not shadow, not umbra, but something hungrier.
Skye stumbled backward, her breath hitching. "N-no… Grans, wait—"
"Shhh," the old woman said gently, raising a finger. "You're getting cold again."
