The sound of an explosion rang out, and the next second, the golem that had lunged towards towards Nox was sent flying back.
Rhett watched as the creature crumbled before slowly turning towards Nox, who had his arm stretched out and his hand was in a fist.
To Rhett's surprise, the fist was covered in a transparent gauntlet that produced a golden glow.
He unclenched his fist and the transparent gauntlet reshaped itself, turning into thin lines of SE which ran up his arm before disappearing.
"That worked," Nox said quietly, more to himself than anyone else.
The ground shook violently as several larger golems began pulling themselves up from the lava, their bodies towering over the two as they seemed to be looking down on them.
Rhett snapped out of his daze and raised his shield just in time to intercept a barrage of molten projectiles. The impact forced him back, causing him to slide but he didn't lose his balance.
