With the first day concluded, the second day of the Spring Showdown was set to begin and it was packed to the brim with title fights just as the first day was. The tens of thousands of fans that had attended the first day piled back into the stadium. They had been a bit put off by the brutality of the end o free first day, but their enthusiasm was still at maximum levels by the time the bell for the first match rung.
The first match of day two was a battle for the SWF American Championship between the current champion PA Knight and Keith Koa. It was a tough back and forth match, but PA Knight seemed to have the better endurance and took control at the end of the match and took the victory to retain his title.
The next match was for the SWF Women's Tag Team Championship title. The Samurai Sisters defended their title against the team of Lindsey Becks and Atlanta Bling. The Samurai Sisters won due to their superior teamwork as they had work together as a tag team for years compared to their opponents being a new team up.
The Samurai Sisters' victory wasn't the biggest news to come out of their match however. It was the return of their teammate and former Women's World Champion, Hiyori Moon. She had been stripped of her title after suffering an injury in practice that sidelined her for several months. She had now made her return and promised to regain the title that she never technically lost.
The return of Hiyori was especially interesting to Black Mask. He had known of her fairly well when the two were still competing in Japan.
"What a pleasant surprise to see you here. I'm glad to hear that you're back to full health. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing you compete again." Black Mask said to her. Hiyori didn't respond, but just nodded kept walking.
"Anata no kagayaku tsuki wa, watashi no yozora no hateshinai kurayami ni koso fusawashī." Black Mask said to her.
(Your radiant moon belongs in the endless darkness of my night sky.)
"Ā, anatadatta ndesu ne." She replied disdainfully.
(Oh, it was you.)
Night Queen witnessed the interaction and burned with an intense jealousy. She had remembered the interest that he had shown in Hiyori in the past.
"Why does he always pay her so much attention when he already has me?" She thought to herself.
(Just as a reminder, there is not currently nor has there ever been a romantic relationship between Night Queen and Black Mask.)
"Hey! Stop right there!" Night Queen shouted at Hiyori. "Just so you know, you I'm not going to let you have my Black Mask so easily."
"I'm not surprised that you're still blind to see the real him." Hiyori replied.
"What are you-" Night Queen tried to respond.
"And just so you know, I'm not even interested in your little boyfriend." Hiyori said as she walked away.
"Little boyfriend huh? Maybe she's not so bad after all." Night Queen thought.
The next match was for the Women's American Championship. It was a Fatal Four Way match between Dorothea Diamond, Monique Money, Sheila Fox, and Chloe Crimson. The match ended up being a dominant victory for Chloe Crimson who had received the help of her teammate Queen Quake.
Next, the SWF Tag Team Championship was on the line. The championship team, Home Improvement, defeated the former unified tag champions the Koa Brothers to retain their title.
It was now time for the co-main event, Titania Steel would challenge Night Queen for her new SWF Women's Championship.
"How do you feel Queen?" Black Mask asked as Night Queen prepared to make her entrance.
"Oh darling, I appreciate you checking in on me, but of course I'm perfectly fine." Night Queen replied.
"This will easily be your biggest challenge since joining this organization. I was just curious to see if you're prepared."
"Why of course I am. In fact, once I beat this tramp I'll set my sights on that tart Hiyori Moon."
"Oh?" Black Mask's eyes darkened. "That would be an interesting wrinkle to my plans. Though I'd prefer that you focus on the task at hand."
"Of course darling."
Night Queen's match was about to start and her opponent was one that would eventually go on to be known as one of her greatest rivals. This would be the match where their rivalry would first bloom.
