After waking from a short nap, Seth glanced toward the mattress.
Matilda was still asleep.
Her breathing was steady and her body was unmoving.
Whatever change had taken place within her had not yet settled.
Seth did not attempt to wake her from her slumber.
Instead, he reached for a piece of paper and a pen, then sat nearby and began to write a simple message for her once she woke up.
He introduced, in brief terms, what it meant to be a witch.
To make her understand that her life had already changed, and that she could not go back to how things were before.
He added a few warnings as well...
Do not draw unwanted attention to yourself.
Do not engage with the unknown unless you can guarantee your safety.
Your mission is to gather information, as much as you can from everything and everyone around you.
