Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

After returning home, the first thing Voss did was rush into his room and slam the door shut.

"Hey, Voss, what are you doing?" Aqua was about to follow him in but jumped when the door banged shut.

"Don't bother me! I'm writing the sequel!" Voss shouted from inside. "No one's allowed in!"

"Hmph, stingy!" Aqua pouted. "This goddess doesn't even want to read it!"

Voss booted up his computer, cracked his knuckles, and grinned. The entire plot for the second volume was already in his head.

"Since the first book was such a hit, the second has to be even bigger," Voss chuckled as he began typing.

[Volume Two: Technology Changes War]

[After John Smith became Captain America's comrade-in-arms, he began assisting Howard Stark in developing weapons and equipment, relying on his knowledge of future technology…]

Voss's fingers flew across the keyboard. He had John suggest an improved design for the Vibranium shield and even "invent" a few early Iron Man-style gadgets.

[John said to Howard, "I think we can add energy thrusters to the shield, so Steve's throws pack more punch." Howard's eyes lit up: "That's an interesting idea. Let's try it."]

Voss laughed to himself. If Tony ever read this, would he wonder if some of his father's inventions were plagiarized?

Next came the romance subplot. Voss had John play matchmaker between Steve and Peggy.

[Volume Three: Budding Love]

[Steve stood outside the barracks, clutching a bouquet, too nervous to knock on Peggy's door.]

[John patted his shoulder: "Buddy, you can take on Hydra, but you're afraid of a woman?" Steve blushed. "This is different…"]

[John rolled his eyes: "Fine, I'll help you. Watch this!" He yelled, "Peggy! Someone's looking for you!" and bolted, leaving Steve frozen in place.]

From the hallway, Aqua's voice cut in: "Voss, what are you giggling about? It's gross!"

"Shut up, idiot! You're ruining my train of thought!" Voss barked back.

He kept writing, giving John little schemes to help Steve and Peggy grow closer—creating private moments, dropping compliments, and making Peggy notice Steve's heroics.

[John told Peggy, "Do you know? Yesterday Steve stormed a Hydra base alone to rescue a child. He came back covered in blood, but the first thing he asked was if the kid was safe." Peggy's expression softened as she listened…]

When Voss reached the climax, he paused. This was the part he'd been looking forward to the most.

[Volume Four: The Ultimate Battle, Deep Brotherhood] — the finale.

Here, John would take Steve's place in sacrificing himself with the bomb-laden plane.

[The Red Skull was defeated, but the bombs couldn't be stopped. Steve prepared to crash the plane into the icy ocean, but John shoved him aside. "No, this time it's my turn."]

[Steve stared in shock. "John, you…" John smiled. "I was reborn into this world for this moment. Steve, you need to live—live happily with Peggy."]

[Before Steve could protest, John knocked him out, strapped on a parachute, and tossed him out of the plane. Then, alone, he guided it toward the North Pole…]

Voss typed feverishly, feeling as if he were John, ready to make the ultimate sacrifice. He even wrote John's last radio message to Peggy.

[Peggy, remember what I said—live well with Steve. And Hydra isn't gone. They're hiding, waiting for the chance to rise again. Be careful…]

Voss grinned wickedly. The real punchline was still to come.

He set the crash in the exact same location where Steve's plane went down in reality—Arctic waters near Greenland.

[The plane went down at 71° North, 49° West. John Smith and the bombs vanished beneath the frozen sea…]

"Heh… if S.H.I.E.L.D. ever read this, they might actually send someone to investigate. Imagine their faces when they get there," Voss muttered proudly.

But he had one last twist.

He ended the story from Hydra's point of view:

[Smith and Rogers thought they'd destroyed us, but they were wrong. The most dangerous place is the safest—we've already infiltrated the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division itself.]

[They'll never suspect their greatest enemy is right under their noses. Hydra is eternal! Cut off one head, two shall take its place! Hail Hydra!!!]

Leaning back, Voss sighed in satisfaction.

"Perfect," he said. "If Nick Fury ever reads this, the look on his face will be priceless."

A knock came at the door.

"Master, are you finished?" Artoria's voice called. "Lunch is ready."

Voss checked the time. Four hours had passed without him noticing.

"Alright, I'm coming!" He saved the file and stretched.

When he opened the door, Aqua was sprawled on the floor, clearly caught eavesdropping.

"What do you think you're doing?" Voss asked flatly.

"This goddess was not eavesdropping!" Aqua scrambled up. "I was just passing by!"

Tom and Jerry exchanged skeptical looks, clearly not buying it.

"Master, how's the novel coming?" Artoria asked as she brought out a plate.

"It's perfect," Voss said proudly. "The readers are going to lose their minds."

"Really? Then this goddess wants to read it too!" Aqua piped up.

"You can see it when it's published," Voss said with a sly grin. "For now, it's top secret."

"Stingy!" Aqua huffed.

During lunch, Voss couldn't stop imagining the chaos his novel might cause.

If S.H.I.E.L.D. really read this, what would they think? Would Fury start suspecting Hydra had already infiltrated them?

"Just imagining it excites me," Voss thought, smirking. "What if my novel actually changes the course of the Marvel Universe?"

Three days later, after polishing the manuscript, Voss prepared to email it to his editor, Oscar, first thing in the morning.

"With $36,000 in royalties, plus sequel income, I'll be a best-selling author in New York in no time!" Voss lounged on the sofa, grinning ear to ear.

Aqua, busy playing games, side-eyed him.

"That creepy smile… he's definitely up to no good," she muttered.

And she was right—Voss was already scheming about the next book. He wanted to dive even deeper into Hydra's infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Heh… will Fury start doubting his own agents after reading this? Will Pierce freak out, wondering if Hydra has a leak? Just picturing their faces makes this worth it. This is what being a transmigrator is all about. Hehehe… (⌐■_■)"

Voss's grin twisted darker.
