Josh's face was dark. The laughter, the phones, the taunting whistles from the crowd, all pressed in on him and his pride suffered a huge blow.
His fists clenched at his sides, jaw ticking with the effort of restraint. He had never suffered such a huge loss against Kai before.
Kai leaned against the Ferrari with a playful smirk, arms folded around his chest. "Well," he said lightly, "a bet's a bet."
Josh's head snapped toward him with anger. But he wouldn't go back against his own word. What would that make him?
With a sharp exhale, he dug into his pocket and pulled out a key fob. The car it belonged to sat gleaming behind him, a shiny black McLaren.
He held it up for a second, staring at it then tossed it at Kai.
"I keep my word."
The keys hit Kai's palm with a satisfying slap. He twirled them once, smiling faintly.
"Good man. Pleasure doing business with you."
Josh sneered.
"Don't get too smug. You can't even beat me yourself."
