The Knox family's election was the hottest news of the year. It was a huge issue, and it was widely discussed. After all, this was the election for Soul Planet's general. Their general, the strongest man on the planet, possessed a rare 'Flower' that only appeared once every few years. He was someone even the king himself wouldn't dare mess with.
From the beginning, many girls had intended to propose to the general's future wife. They had long wanted to be the "seed" in the Knox family's selection. Unfortunately, this selection was even more stringent than the selection for the crown prince's wife. Of the hundreds of families who nominated their daughters, only 20 girls were actually able to become the "seed" in the general's family.
One of them is Quinn Flos, she is not a famous girl, although the Flos family used to be a wealthy noble family, now the Flos family only lives on its own. Her uncle Harries Dariel is her mother's half-brother. The family relationship is very complicated, but who would have thought that now the uncle is the only person she can call family.
Quinn stood in front of the Knox family's magnificent mansion. The house had a very strong traditional touch. Historically, Mrs. Knox was of East Asian descent when humans still lived on Earth, while the Knox patriarch had European ancestry before all humans left Earth over a thousand years ago. Quinn had never seen what Earth looked like, but she had learned about it in school. It was no surprise that the Knox house was so different from most houses.
On the first day, the girls participating in the selection had to wear traditional East Asian clothing to honor Mrs. Knox. Quinn, clad in a light blue dress that swayed in the wind like a perfect sculpture. Her pale skin and serene face, with a high nose that fit perfectly with her features and adorned with natural red lips, instantly captured the attention of the media, who had been waiting since morning in front of the Knox family's gates.
Quinn, uncomfortable with the cameras and the crowd, lowered her head, hiding her face. "Hey, you guys, isn't your presence here very disturbing? As far as I know, the Knox family is very concerned about the privacy of this election. You're causing a commotion here," said a woman who had just stepped out of her space car. Dressed in a soft orange, the tall woman waved her hands as if shooing away the crowd of reporters.
"Unless you have permission from the Knox family, you are allowed to be here." Every word she uttered seemed to have another meaning, coupled with her low and cold tone, anyone could feel that this woman was not just anyone.
The woman then looked at Quinn, her eyes were very sharp and Quinn also looked at her coldly, "you also participated in this election? Come inside, these reporters will act like vampires and suck all the information from you." Quinn followed the girl in orange who walked casually towards the gate and handed her invitation to the waiter who was already standing there.
Quinn looked at the invitation in her hand. Once she entered, she would have to participate in this election. It was something she was honestly tired of doing. This was her last chance to back out; once she handed in this invitation, she would be tied to the Knox family until the election was over.
Even though she no longer wanted to participate in the election and was certain not to be elected, this was better than being Jacob's umpteenth wife.
Quinn handed the invitation to the servant who was at the gate to greet the invited guests. The servant accepted it politely. The gate in front of her opened and in an instant she had entered the Knox family residence.
A large pool was the first thing that greeted her upon entering. A red and gold bridge stretched beautifully across it. Many young women were already gathered.
"I'm Irish Gold. Nice to meet you." Irish—the girl who had previously scolded the reporters at the gate—greeted her. The woman was smiling now, now, she no longer looked intimidating. "Quinn Flos," Quinn replied. They shook hands. Irish eyebrows raised. It was rare for someone to recognize her. Quinn always tried to be inconspicuous and didn't want to attract attention, but from her gaze, Irish seemed to know her.
"Do you know me?" Quinn asked directly.
"I heard a thing or two about you." The girl's eyes fell on Quinn's temple which was covered by hair.
"So you know me," Quinn explained. Everyone who knew about the gray flower on her temple would have a different reaction. She was curious to see what this girl would say to her.
Irish looked away, "It's not just you, I know all the participants in this election. Let's be friends, it would be boring if everyone competed without being able to make a friend in this place." Irish Gold—was a name familiar throughout the kingdom. She was the daughter of Prime Minister Gold, who wielded immense influence in Crescere.
It's certain that the Knox family election will not be open to just anyone. Only those with influential backgrounds can participate.
"Do you see that woman over there?" Irish pointed to the middle of the bridge. "She is the daughter of Earl Wolmes. And over there is the daughter of Earl Shoure." Irish pointed to each person she saw one by one. "You must know that this selection is not entered by just anyone, right?" the girl laughed, "and moreover, the Knox family has selected every name that enters this selection, besides background, they also select based on the 'Flower' of each girl." She continued, looking at Quinn seriously this time.
