Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: How Dare You Desecrate the Sacred Machine??

Stepping into the factory of Dora's Workshop, the roar of machinery and a wave of heat hit him.

Bare mechanical arms, exposed hydraulic pipes, and control cables performed tasks like welding on conveyor belts and spraying rust-proof paint on the exoskeleton surfaces.

At the end of the conveyor belts stood rows of shiny, brand-new exoskeleton armors.

A few players from Dora's Workshop had retrofitted the factory, setting up an industrial assembly line.

They worked around the clock, desperately trying to increase output.

The produced exoskeleton armors were not only sold to players but also supplied to Imperial soldiers.

At this stage, demand was high.

Seeing Qin Yun enter, the players overseeing the line panicked and hurriedly saluted.

"Lord Guide."

"Lord Guide."

"Who is in charge here?" Qin Yun asked.

"Dora," Grey Wolf replied timidly.

"Where is he?"

"In the workshop, researching a new exoskeleton model."

"Take me to him."

Qin Yun's tone brooked no argument.

Grey Wolf didn't dare disobey and led Qin Yun to the workshop.

The other players looked at each other, their faces uneasy.

"Do you think we'll be punished or banned?"

"Probably not."

"Hard to say. We might have violated the Mechanicus's edicts."

"We're screwed. Thought we could earn some extra points, but this is a big loss."

"Lord Guide."

Dora, learning of the Guide's arrival, rushed out from the workshop to greet him.

"You seem busy," Qin Yun looked at Dora, who was wearing grey work clothes.

Dora shook his head repeatedly, "No, Lord Guide, I'm just making things I like."

"Making things you like?"

Qin Yun raised his voice, making Dora's heart tremble.

"Then keep doing it. Make it bigger and stronger. Build it into a first-class military industry."

"Your innovation in exoskeleton armor is outstanding."

"To commend you, I have decided to personally reward each founder of Dora's Workshop with 10,000 Contribution Points."

"Additionally, I will provide Dora's Workshop with an interest-free loan of ten million Contribution Points to fund production line expansion."

Dora's eyes widened, his face full of disbelief.

He thought the Lord Guide had come to reprimand them.

Instead, he was giving rewards and an interest-free loan.

"Thank you, Lord Guide! We will definitely keep working hard to make the workshop bigger and stronger."

"Very good." Qin Yun nodded. "I heard you're researching new exoskeleton armor. How is the progress?"

"Mostly done. It can go into production soon."

Dora brought Qin Yun into the workshop and showed him their achievements over the past few days.

"This is the newly developed Tomorrow II Exoskeleton Armor."

"The Type II adds composite curved armor plates to the base of Type I, improving overall defense through modular connection."

"The Type II also carries the latest Cogitator combat system, equipped with a data helmet displaying information on a HUD panel."

"It allows the user to better understand the battlefield situation. The load capacity has also been increased to eight hundred kilograms."

"As for the motion assist system, behavioral pattern sensing and the dynamic response of servo motors have been optimized."

"The heavy laser machine gun on the exoskeleton's shoulder synchronizes with the crosshair displayed on the player's helmet."

"Just pull the trigger, and the targeted enemy can be instantly blown to pieces."

"Very impressive." Qin Yun nodded with satisfaction. "Your creativity is excellent. Is the manufacturing cost high?"

"We're using materials taken from the space station warehouses. No cost at all, all profit."

Dora seemed a little embarrassed.

Qin Yun didn't mind this and continued asking about manufacturing costs.

"If we had a full industrial system, with the current technological production capacity, the manufacturing cost of the Tomorrow I is about 35,000, and the Tomorrow II is around 55,000."

"If we scale up, the price could be pushed even lower."

Dora's answer pleased Qin Yun.

Such low costs suited his intentions perfectly.

Mass production and troop building were within reach.

"How many can you produce per day currently?"

"The workshop can only produce the Tomorrow I type now, fifteen sets per day."

"Increase the production speed. We will be heading to the surface for combat soon," Qin Yun said. "Exoskeleton armor can effectively reduce casualties."

"I permit you to recruit NPCs, and I will grant you secondary authority to issue tasks to other players, but you must provide the task rewards yourself."

"I have only two requirements: First, increase production output. Second, develop more new types of equipment."

Hearing this, Dora straightened up and shouted with high morale, "We will definitely complete the task!"

"Very good."

Qin Yun nodded satisfactorily and turned to leave.

Shortly after, an announcement appeared on the Imperial Glory and Laicade Space Station.

{Dora is the True Omnissiah, Grey Wolf... and other players have received the Industrial Innovation Award. Each is rewarded with 10,000 Contribution Points. Additionally, an interest-free loan of 10 million Contribution Points will be provided to assist Dora's Workshop in expansion.}

Seeing the announcement, the players instantly erupted.

"Damn! Dora got commended!"

"Good news for the industrial and farming factions."

"Wow, openly stealing the tech-priests' livelihood"

"I always felt this game's style would eventually lean towards Paradox games."

"No need to feel, it's 100% certain. You are all potential war criminals."

"I want to open a factory too, get back to my old trade."

"Bro, what do you do in real life?"

"Research smart adult dolls."

"Damn, you Slaaneshi cultist! Let's exchange contacts later. I need to severely reprimand you on behalf of the Inquisition."

"..."

Jūrō looked at the announcement, lost in thought.

'Was I wrong before?'

'Hidden gameplay isn't just unlocked by NPCs; you can also discover it yourself.'

'Damn!'

He would also play to his strengths.

Promote financial development in the Warhammer 40k universe.

Let those foolish denizens of the Warp experience the terror of capital.

Strive for the day when even the Despoiler, Abaddon, has to submit a project proposal and take out a loan for his Black Crusade.

...

Real World.

Warhammer Corporate Slaves Chat Group.

Qian Donglai routinely shared new guides.

"The Imperial Glory has been docked for repairs. Most areas of Laicade Space Station have been reclaimed. We'll soon be heading to the surface for combat."

"Players who like combat are in luck; the entire planet is your battlefield."

"Dora's Workshop received commendation and an interest-free loan to expand production."

"This wave is favorable for the industrial and farming factions. Building ring worlds and colossi is no longer a dream."

"..."

After sharing, Qian Donglai lifted the group's mute.

Within seconds, the group messages hit 99+.

Guilliman is the Only Sun: "Why, why treat me like this. [Gif: Snow drifting, north wind whistling]"

I Don't Want to be a Stinky Can: "What's wrong, Roboute?"

Guilliman is the Only Sun: "I still haven't gotten a reservation slot. [Emoji: Crying]"

Manbun is the Mark of a True Strongest: "Wait, how many people are in this group? There were over a hundred slots total, and you didn't get one?"

Guilliman is the Only Sun: [Emoji: Sobbing loudly]

Corporate Drone Enslaved by the Emperor: "@Guilliman is the Only Sun [Emoji: Patting head], don't be sad. Tomorrow there are two hundred game slots. Fifty are special invites, the rest are for regular players. No need to worry about not getting one."

Midnight Lord Asks if Your Scalp Itches: "A hundred and fifty slots, and the group only has just over three hundred members. Pretty much everyone should get one."

Guilliman is the Only Sun: "[Emoji: Excited] Looks like the great Regent is finally returning. Prepare for my arrival."

...

Laicade Space Station.

Qin Yun was checking the group chat information at a console.

Suddenly, over twenty prompts for joining the Warhammer Corporate Slaves group popped up on the chat interface.

Just as he was about to check what was happening, he heard a voice from behind.

"Lord Guide, we are ready to depart at any time."

Turning around, he saw Blood Pigeon saluting him.

Qin Yun nodded and closed the projection interface.

"Since you're ready, let's set off. To the surface of Planet Astroma."

After reclaiming most of LaicadeSpace Station, arranging for Dora's Workshop's expansion, and the Imperial Glory's repairs, Qin Yun planned to go to the surface to see how the battle was progressing.

He also intended to assign a few players and a troop contingent to act as representatives below, responsible for communicating with House Valancius.

Arriving at the boarding area, players skilled in combat like Little Fat, Warlord, Baldy, and others had been waiting for some time.

Additionally, there were over a dozen Imperial soldiers.

The players and soldiers were all wearing Tomorrow I or II exoskeleton armor, looking very imposing.

"Move out." Qin Yun waved his hand, and the players and soldiers boarded the craft in sequence.

Three Valkyries roared out from the space station and entered Astroma's atmosphere.

The outer districts of Tyren Hive had fallen.

As soon as the Valkyries carrying Qin Yun and the others entered low-altitude airspace, they came under attack.

Dense lasers, missiles, and bolts were fired skyward, attempting to shoot down their Valkyries.

Simultaneously, five rebel fighters took off to intercept.

A fierce air battle erupted between the two sides.

The players piloting the Valkyries, lacking experience, repeatedly found themselves in difficult situations.

Fortunately, the performance of the rebel fighters was far inferior to the Valkyries'.

The blaring of alarms echoed inside the Valkyrie's cockpit.

Blood Pigeon strained his nerves, maneuvering the Valkyrie to evade enemy fire and the pursuing rebel fighters.

"Incoming missiles! They've locked onto us!" The co-pilot, Milk Dragon, shouted.

"An enemy aircraft ahead approaching at high speed! The enemy's auspex has locked onto us!"

"Wolves ahead, tigers behind. We have to risk it."

Blood Pigeon hardened his heart and accelerated, charging straight at the rebel fighter.

When they were almost upon it, he yanked the control stick hard.

The machine spirit let out a whine as the Valkyrie pitched up sharply, climbing at a 90-degree angle.

The pursuing missiles couldn't change trajectory in time, screaming past and slamming into the oncoming rebel fighter.

Boom!

The intercepting rebel fighter exploded in mid-air, countless burning fragments raining down.

After climbing, Blood Pigeon used the altitude advantage to lock onto another rebel fighter.

Missiles loaded on the Valkyrie's wings shot out, trailing flames.

With a roaring explosion, the locked rebel fighter became a fireball.

"Awesome! Double kill! Damn, you have the makings of an ace pilot!" Milk Dragon shouted excitedly.

"Nothing much, nothing much."

A look of pride appeared on Blood Pigeon's face, though he tried to remain modest.

As they approached the inner districts of Tyren Hive, anti-aircraft guns on the high walls locked onto the rebel fighters and opened fire.

After losing another fighter, the remaining two rebel fighters chose to retreat.

Qin Yun's group successfully landed at a landing pad in Tyren Hive.

Planetary Governor Von Valancius.

Ecclesiarch Bishop Heydrak.

Mechanicus Magos Koro.

And numerous nobles had been waiting for some time.

As soon as Qin Yun and the others stepped out of the aircraft, they hurried over.

"Welcome, Lord Guide," Feng saluted Qin Yun with the Aquila. The others followed suit.

Qin Yun looked at the Planetary Governor, whose face was tinged with green from the plague infection.

He successively used the skills [Blessing], [Cleansing], and [Emperor's Light].

"May the God-Emperor's light shine upon you."

As he spoke, golden light manifested, causing all signs of the plague on Feng's body to dissipate, restoring his health.

This scene drew exclamations from the crowd.

"A miracle?"

"It's the power of the great God-Emperor!"

"A Living Saint! The God-Emperor has sent His messenger!" Bishop Heydrak proclaimed to the crowd. "Our suffering is over!"

"I'm afraid I must dampen your spirits. This individual might not be a saint at all, but a heretic intent on deceiving us."

Magos Koro of the Mechanicus stepped forward, pointing his gear-topped staff at the players and soldiers behind Qin Yun.

"Because the exoskeleton armor they wear is a desecration of the Great Omnissiah!"

"Such heretics should be executed immediately."
