Everyone standing around was furious. Several people wanted to step onto the field, but Jin stopped them. They didn't understand why he was holding them back.
Jin knew that if they stepped up, even a victory would be labeled as the big bullying the small. A loss would be even more embarrassing and might further fuel Heiji's arrogance, especially since the boy was the Young Master's senior.
Eichi knew it was time for his entrance. He took a large step forward and said calmly, "I'll do it."
Though his voice wasn't loud, everyone heard him clearly. Suddenly, all eyes were on Eichi. Azuma muttered in a low voice, "Why is Eichi back? Isn't he training in the forest? Why did he return all of a sudden?"
The others were also surprised by his return, as Eichi usually only came back during meal times.
Seeing someone challenge him, Heiji said arrogantly, "Still haven't given up? Come then. But it's impossible for you to beat me. I'll make you see reality."
Eichi didn't get angry, replying placidly, "Could you please not be so arrogant?"
Heiji adjusted his glasses and said, "I'm arrogant because I have the strength to back it up."
Eichi smiled and shook his head without saying another word. This kind of person needed a harsh lesson from society.
He released his Pokémon. "Go, Scizor!"
A burst of white light converged in front of Eichi to form Scizor. Scizor looked at Xatu with a gaze full of fighting spirit.
Opposite it, although Xatu remained expressionless, its eyes betrayed an arrogance identical to its Master's, as if it felt invincible under heaven. Truly, like Master, like Pokémon.
The moment Scizor appeared, Heiji began tapping on his computer. Scizor quickly appeared on his screen, though specific data had not yet been generated.
"Let's begin," Eichi said. "Scizor, use Brick Break!"
Scizor vibrated its wings, creating a gust of wind that kicked up dust. Its twin claws began to gather strength, glowing with white light. Within seconds, it was in front of Xatu.
Just as its claws were about to strike, Xatu didn't panic at all, staying in place to wait for Heiji's command.
"Xatu, use Teleport!"
Xatu's eyes glowed orange-red, and it instantly vanished from in front of Scizor. Scizor's attack hit nothing but air. Xatu reappeared instantly a short distance behind Scizor.
Scizor turned its head to look at Xatu and continued its charge. Meanwhile, a mass of data appeared on Heiji's computer. By observing Scizor's speed, he could roughly analyze its other stats—the so-called 'seeing the whole leopard through a single spot.'
Heiji read through the data at an incredible speed. He was somewhat surprised by Scizor's physical condition, but he quickly refocused on the battle.
"Xatu, continue using Teleport!"
Just as Scizor was about to hit Xatu again, it vanished once more, reappearing not far away. Seeing this, Eichi wasn't annoyed at all. "I'll see how many times you can use Teleport," he noted.
The others on the sidelines watched the battle with total focus. Except for the few who knew Eichi's true strength, the rest were unsure. They all hated Heiji, so they naturally sided with Eichi, but they were worried because they knew Heiji was actually very strong.
"Xatu, use Psychic!"
After teleporting, Xatu immediately counterattacked. As Scizor charged, a ripple of bright yellow telekinetic energy struck it directly.
Scizor did not dodge—and could not dodge. Psychic-type moves are nearly impossible to evade. It took Xatu's attack head-on. Though its head throbbed with pain, Scizor endured it and continued its rush toward Xatu.
It reached Xatu instantly, swinging its claws to deny Xatu any chance to use Teleport.
"Xatu, use Protect!"
At the moment of impact, Xatu's eyes flashed, and a screen appeared instantly to block Scizor's attack.
"Xatu, use Teleport!"
After blocking the attack, Xatu vanished again. Heiji, staring at his computer, revealed a victorious smile. "I've found your Scizor's weakness," he laughed with total confidence. "You've lost."
"The last person I defeated said the same thing," Eichi replied expressionlessly.
Heiji touched his glasses and said, "Don't compare those people to me. Xatu, use Hypnosis!"
Xatu's eyes emitted an orange-red glow.
"Scizor, don't look at its eyes. Close your eyes!" Eichi commanded.
Hearing its Master's order, Scizor immediately shut its eyes and habitually entered its Perception state. In the darkness, Xatu was extremely conspicuous—a swirling mass of red energy, clear as day.
Heiji mocked, "Closing its eyes? Your Scizor is as good as useless now. Xatu, use Psychic!"
Red light flared in Xatu's eyes as layers of powerful telekinetic waves struck toward Scizor.
"I've played enough; it's time to end this," Eichi said. "Scizor, use Agility to move behind Xatu!"
Scizor vibrated its wings and vanished from its spot. In the next instant, it appeared behind Xatu, moving just as fast as a Teleport. Xatu's Psychic missed completely.
"What?" Heiji stammered. "How can it be that fast? Could my data be wrong? Impossible, my data cannot be wrong! And Scizor has its eyes closed, how can it see? This is impossible!"
"Xatu, use Confuse Ray!"
Heiji was beginning to panic. After issuing the command, he started typing frantically on his computer. A small orb of light shot from Xatu's mouth, heading straight for Scizor.
"It's useless," Eichi said. "Scizor, use Double Team!"
Scizor instantly transformed into countless clones, surrounding Xatu. Heiji quickly looked up from his computer to give an order.
"Xatu, use Psychic for a full-area attack!"
Psychic energy surged wildly around Xatu and radiated in all directions. Scizor's clones were destroyed simultaneously, but none of them were the real one.
Right then, Xatu suddenly felt something behind it. It felt a killing intent that made its skin crawl. However, at this critical moment, Heiji was still looking at his computer.
"Scizor, final blow. use X-Scissor!"
Scizor crossed its claws, gathering strength. Its aura exploded as it swung forward, its claws striking Xatu's body with immense force. Xatu's previous arrogance vanished instantly. Its face distorted in pain as a scream rang out.
