The abilities gained by people in this world are called Arkives. Arkives originally became known during the early Egyptian civilization during the Night fall event, although traces of it can be found earlier than that.
People who poses Arkives are called Arkives holders, and are usually just also called Arkives or Holders for simplicity.
Arkives are concepts by nature and are powered based on how much fear and negative emotions are related to the concept.
Hence there are new Arkives every now and then but according to international law all new Arkives are to be registered within the span of a week.
Arkives holders are ranked with titles based on strength in the following order.
PAWN, this is the base level and lowest level of any Arkives most Arkives start at this level most holders on this level have very limited power and are barely above normal people.
KNIGHT, this is the next level that where there is a large change and increase in Arkives power commonly caused by an increase in fear of the Arkives. It is at this stage where most holders start to discover their 'maximas'.
BISHOP, this level is just slightly above a knight but is rare because most holders find it difficult to access it because it requires the discovery of the Arkives holders 'Order', but most Arkives at this level have their incomplete maximas.
ROOK, this is the level where holders now develop a full maxima and have a lot of power it is third in power compared to the next level.
ASCENDANT, this is the rarest level which has only been archived by less than 0.3 of the total number of holders in the world which is 1035 in the entire world, most people at this level are regarded as people of importance and national treasures. Most of the High council members are in this cartigory including Lazurus.
IN - CROWNED, this is the final stage of holders and only four people have ever archived this stage in the world.
Now onto abilities known as Arkives Orders.
Arkives Orders are pre set additional Arkives that can be used by a holders if they wish.The use of orders comes at a cost depending on the variation from the holder's Arkives.
There is a first order, which is usually the most related Arkives to the holder's Arkive the use of one usually gives the holder a slight fever after use.
Then there is a second order , the use of such an order causes the user to have serious tissue pain and muscle strain.
Then there is a third order , the use of an order in this cartigory causes severe muscle tears , bleeding and some times even temporary paralysis.
Hence fourth, we have a fourth order this order has severe consequences including permanent paralysis, coma and brain damage.
Lastly, we have fifth order, the use of such an order is considered suicide since it has only one out come death. But such orders come with huge power boosts since it's commonly used as a final sacrafice.
Arkives maximas , these are applications of an Arkive used to project an area of iffect where the Arkive holder gains a large increase in Arkives energy consumption in exchange for fullusage of their Arkive and higher odds of defeating the enemy in battle.
The size of a maxima depend on the Arkive. Some holders have restraint maximas that create a mini dimension of which they are in full control of. But these also affect mobility of the user since the pocket dimension has limits. Others have exploit maximas that fus e the maxima with the world around them these give the user full control while also avoiding constricting the users movement unlike restraint maximas.
