Khael's POV
I could not respond even after a few minutes, I merely stared at him like a star struck kid. What he said was the last I expected from him. I expect him to scold me, or blame or something along that line, not a complete opposite.
He pities me, I swallowed nervously.
How pathetic, I have never really mattered to anyone but pity is what I despise the most. A low life me still has the face to get proud.
"I… can not marry you. He will assume we really have something between us that way. I understand that I have been very immature in the past by leading you on and flirting openly with you even though I had something with him. But it's not enough for me to want to get married. I'm sorry".
"Do you understand how critical your condition is? You are overworked and under rested. You don't eat well and don't look after yourself. Allow me to help you!" Although his voice is very stern I could hear the tenderness underneath it.
