(Vaelor's POV)
"This is nice." I said as I was on the bench, sitting next to Daella, "Being here with you....."
She blushed and smiled, "Yes...." She said softly, "It is...."
"A year is too long to be apart." I told her with a smile, "I don't ever want to leave your side again."
She blushed even more, "Do you mean it?"
"I do." I nodded, "I love you."
I grabbed her hand and leaned in, kissing her cheek.
"Ahem." I heard Aemon clearing his throat, "You know that I need to stop you after that."
I looked at him, seeing that he was standing a few feet away, "Hm...." I frowned, "Give us some privacy."
"I cannot." He said with a sigh, "Father's orders. He's still the King."
I rolled my eyes, "Father..." I groaned, "That old grouch....."
"It is fine." Daella said softly, "I do not mind."
I leaned towards her, "I wanted to kiss your soft lips." I said, "Get some nice memories, Daella...."
Her entire face went completely red, staring right at me with surprise.
"E-Eeeh....?" Her voice was a whimper, completely taken aback by what I had just told her, "V-Vaelor, stop it....."
"Vaelor, you damn flirt." Aemon said, "Quit teasing her like that."
I hugged Daella's waist, "But I missed her..." I said with a smile, "I missed her hair, her face, her lips. Everything!"
"O-Oh...." Daella said softly, "You....."
I kissed her cheek again, "I love you." I said, "I don't jest when I say that. I mean it."
She looked at me, "I love you too...."
"Hey!" I heard someone call out
I turned to see Alyssa walking up to us, "Oh, hey sister."
I saw Maegelle, in her Septa clothing, walking behind her. She had a calm and serene look to her, my older sister.
"What are you doing?" Alyssa asked, a scowl on her face, "You teasing Daella again?"
"Daella, you should refrain from letting Vaelor hold you like that." Maegelle said, "If Father finds out, he will not be happy. I say this for your sake."
Daella smiled nervously, "It is fine." she said, "Vaelor won't do anything. Besides, what he says he did is-"
"The truth." I said with a smirk, "Right, Maegelle?"
Maegelle's calm expression did not waver. "Vaelor, your actions a year ago nearly caused a dangerous scandal." She said, "You are fortunate that the Gods favor you, giving Father enough clarity to quell his anger."
"Hm." I said, "If you say so."
"Baelon and I are going to fly." Alyssa told Aemon, "Bring Little Rhaenys with you, we leave in an hour."
"Very well." Aemon nodded
I stood up, "Alright, we're going too." I said with a smile, "Let us go, Daella. You on Dreamfyre while I fly on Shrykos."
"That's a good idea." Alyssa smiled, "Come, sister. Let us go and fly."
Daella smiled, "I like the sound of that." She said with a chuckle, "After so long, we can go back to normal."
I pulled her up by the hand, "Mhm, yes, my beautiful." I said, "I cannot wait to see your flowing hair, in the wind as you fly atop your dragon. My heart is moved by the thought of it."
Her face went red again and she looked down, "Oh, Vaelor...."
"He takes advantage of her sometimes." Alyssa muttered
"Never!" I said with a scowl, "Don't say anything like that."
"Vaelor." Maegelle spoke up, "I should inform you that Vaegon is to return in a few days. A break from the Citadel, it has been stated."
"Oh." I said, "It's been quite some time, hasn't it?"
She nodded, "Yes." She said, "He has heard of what happened, and I don't doubt he'll have some words."
I groaned, "Ugh..." I said, "That little prick always has something to say."
"B-Be nice...." Daella said softly
I looked at her, "He's always mean to you." I said, "I am not going to let him insult you again."
"But...." She said as she looked down
I nodded, "I understand." I said, "He's my brother, I should get along with him."
**************
[Some Days Later]
"You seriously went ahead and did that....." Vaegon said as he stood in front of me, wearing maester clothing, "How can you be so stupid?!"
I rolled my eyes, "Here we go."
"Boys, do not fight." Mother said across the table
Vaegon had arrived and Mother wanted us to have a mean together, sitting at her table. He didn't change much, had that dumb scowl on his face. Other than that, he seemed fine and a bit more relaxed.
"How could you bed Daella in an attempt to rouse our father?!" Vaegon started, "You could have put a child in her, risking her health! What would you have done if she died in childbirth? The statistics do not lie; women should not be bearing children at that age!"
I looked at him, "What does it matter to you?" I asked him, "Last I checked, that wasn't the reason for your words. You told me that if I wanted imbecile children, I should in fact Daella. What changed?"
"You fool!" He scowled, "You are being far more reckless than I give you credit for! You lost a betrothed, do you intend on losing another one?!"
"Vaegon." Mother started
"What do you know about losing my betrothed, Vaegon?" I asked, "You weren't there."
"You are right, I was not." He said, "But I do know that you were probably grieving. You are not the type of person to show no care to someone who has nothing to do with any of this....business...I know that."
"How so?" I asked
"You are not me." He said seriously
"Hmph....." I said as I looked to the side and leaned back, "For your information, brother, I did not bed Daella."
"What?" He asked
"It was a scheme that I hatched, tricking father into betrothing us." I said, "Mother knew but after the fact."
Mother sighed, "Vaelor, that is but a secret."
I shrugged, "My twin brother can keep it."
Vaegon looked at me with a scowl, "That is even more foolish!!" He stood up, "If Father believed it, he was prone to giving you an even bigger punishment than what you got! Were you going to risk something like that for a lie?!"
I nodded, "Yes."
"I can't believe you!" He said, "You are a reckless fool!"
"Believe it, brother." I said with a smile, "But can you be surprised?"
He sighed, "No." He said, "It is you, after all.....but still, do not ever do something like that again."
"I don't plan on bedding her until we are both ready." I said with a smile, "But she is mine brother, that much is true. My beautiful Daella....."
"Hm...." He sat back down, "I guess so."
"Don't forget why." I told him,
"It is because you didn't want her."
