Chapter 249: Alchemical Title
Weasley & Green's Wizard Wheezes was about to open.
During this time, Fred and George were running to the shop every day.
Sean didn't pay much attention. He was constantly grinding the proficiency of the Cleaning Broom, while also practicing the refinement of magic and helping Mrs. Weasley with chores.
The Weasley household was full of magic and surprises. The mirror over the kitchen mantelpiece was always commenting on everyone. Every morning when they looked in the mirror, it would yell:
"Tuck your shirt in, scruffy!"
There was a ghoul in the attic that howled and banged on the pipes whenever it felt the house was too quiet. But the Weasleys seemed used to it, and they even seemed rather fond of the ghoul.
Likewise, small explosions from Fred and George's bedroom were considered perfectly normal.
So whenever Sean came downstairs with his cleaning broom, Mrs. Weasley would be full of praise for his alchemical creation.
"A broom? A broom to help wizards clean their rooms—dear, it's wonderful, it cleans so thoroughly!"
The Weasley family was very welcoming.
Mrs. Weasley knitted socks for Sean; Mr. Weasley liked to sit next to Sean at meals and bombard him with questions about Muggle life, asking how telephones and post offices worked.
"Fascinating!" he sighed after Sean explained how to use a telephone. "Truly ingenious, how many ways Muggles have found to get along without magic."
It was a bright, sunny morning. Sean had gotten up early to carve runes onto the Cleaning Broom, creating an even more refined runic array for it.

The small room was cozy and bright, with books piled up but not looking cluttered. In an area marked with magical wards, Sean finally ground the Cleaning Broom to the Expert level.
[A new Alchemical Title has been unlocked. Please view.]
Sean admitted he was a little impatient.
[Title: High-Level Alchemist]
[Substantially increases perception of Alchemical Magic, greatly enhances Alchemical Magic talent, and significantly improves the wizard's control over Alchemical Magic Rituals.]
Significantly improves control over Alchemical Magic Rituals?
Sean began to understand. This was guiding him completely onto the path of pioneering magical rituals.
Just as he put down the Cleaning Broom in his hand, a paper airplane flew through the wall:
"Mr. Green, the renovations are complete.
—Your loyal servant: Quirrell."
Sean flattened the paper airplane, turning it back into a blank sheet of paper, which he then put into his bag.
After informing Mrs. Weasley, he took some Floo Powder and stepped into the fireplace.
With the shop opening in a few days, Mrs. Weasley had exceptionally relaxed the restrictions—allowing them to go to Diagon Alley, but they had to report beforehand and use the Floo Network under her supervision.
"Diagon Alley."
Sean's figure was swallowed by green flames in the fireplace. His body felt like it was spinning rapidly... the roaring in his ears was deafening...
And then, he arrived in Diagon Alley.
Sean walked proficiently to the entrance of Shop Number 77, which had been renovated to look exceptionally interesting.
Its door was a giant leather-bound book; when pushed open, copper bells would hum a charming melody.
"Mr. Green—"
Professor Quirrell walked over quickly.
"Oh, as you can see, that alchemical workshop is about to open too."
Following his gaze, Sean saw a crowd packed in front of Weasley & Green's Wizard Wheezes. Today was the last day before the opening.
Some people were even preparing to camp out there, waiting for dawn to start their shopping spree.
In contrast, the empty space in front of the Fairy Tale Workshop looked particularly dismal.
"That is a... booming shop, Mr. Green. They have accumulated popularity for over half a year. Are we really going to open at the same time as them?" Professor Quirrell asked.
"No need to worry," Sean said.
"Very well, sir. The people from the International Magical Trading Standards Body will be here soon. We need to pass some inspections. Once the shop has been operating for a month, we can apply to be connected to the Floo Network," Professor Quirrell reported further.
The International Magical Trading Standards Body was a department responsible for monitoring and assessing trade practices in the wizarding world, as well as enacting and enforcing international laws on trading standards.
In 1994, Percy Weasley joined this department immediately after starting work at the Ministry of Magic. At the time, the Standards Body was preparing to standardize the thickness of imported cauldrons, and Percy even wrote a report on the subject.
The fireplace in the Fairy Tale Workshop had been enchanted to fill the entire room with warmth. After a short wait, the doorbell chimed.
"Inspections are usually very tedious; you can rest on the side," Professor Quirrell said.
Sean nodded, but then he saw two familiar faces: Riley August, Vice-President of the International Confederation of Wizards, and Ollie Mitchell from the Auror Office.
"Mr. Green—so glad to see you here. To be honest, we've been waiting for this day for too long."
Mr. Riley August strode over and, while Professor Quirrell stood somewhat stunned, gently shook Sean's hand.
"Think about it, Mr. Green. We are willing to raise the price to eight hundred Galleons—" Ollie Mitchell was still harping on about the same old matter.
Professor Quirrell didn't react for a moment, watching as the two officials perfunctorily walked around twice and then respectfully handed over a permit.
This was a Shop Operating Permit, which in most cases was synonymous with tedious procedures and strict-to-the-point-of-harsh regulations.
Due to the existence of magic, wizards had a natural talent for causing destruction. Diagon Alley had once suffered a "Dungbomb Pollution Incident," which had caused the review standards to tighten once again.
But now, Professor Quirrell felt as if they had just casually tossed him a piece of blank paper.
Could it be... the shop's business really has a chance?
Riley August was in a good mood today. As one of the earliest wizards to arrive, they had managed to secure some Fairy Tale Biscuits in advance.
Although not many, it was enough for their use.
When he returned to the organization, a figure with a broad head and large ears approached him.
"Riley, do you know how many wizards want to connect to the Floo Network every year? Some wish they could connect ten places at once! You know I've already worked overtime for three days, and now you want me to do an emergency installation for one household—I won't go! I tell you, it's impossible!"
He grumbled, sporting heavy dark circles under his eyes.
"Really not going?" Riley asked with interest.
"If I go, I'm a Flobberworm!" the chubby, broad-headed clerk growled.
"Even if it's for the winner of the Gold Award for Pioneering Contribution at the Udala Alchemical Symposium..."
