The Astral Express soon departed as Charles sighed and got to debugging a few lines of vulnerable code and sending funny videos to Stephen. Stephen and Charles were similar in that they often found things too bothersome.
Although Stephen preferred his everyday life, Charles would take any opportunity to spice it up.
[Myriad World Tree Chat Group, would like to invite Genius #85 Charles, Scholar of Joy.]
[Yes] [No]
[Joining will allow..]
Charles didn't even need to finish reading as he slammed the yes button. He had been bored out of his mind. Unlike Herta, who would look for problems to solve, he wouldn't seek out problems on his own.
Hence, that usually left him with copious amounts of boredom. Saving planets? Done numerous times. Meeting with the Aeons, also done multiple times. Helping build Qlipoth's wall? Also done. But finally something that perhaps even the trailblaze had not touched. Worlds outside of their own imaginary tree.
He would be an idiot to reject this.
[Welcome to the chat group: Genius #85]
[The Doctor] [Oh, someone the chat group designates as a genius has graced us with their presence. Another scholar I can share insights with.]
[Jhinzou Phoenix] [Greetings Genius, you can view the functions of the chat group from the top right corner. You can also view member introductions by clicking their image and clicking profile]
[The Doctor] [Truly, speechless... So this is the gap between a me and a true genius]
[Nightmare [Ara~ Shocking chat group news, a big name has joined.]
[Genius #85] [I see... come to me when you have something fun to solve. I'm busy with a new project.]
[The Doctor] [Perhaps may I ask what the new project is? A scientist's curiosity you could sasy.]
[Genius #85] [Anti-Inorganic Equation, previously #27 created the Anti-Organic Equation which kickstarted the war. I finally finished my previous projects so I decided to start on this one. An equation meant to mutate any inorganic life-form. I'm sure Screwllum will understand.]
[The Doctor] [... Is this what normal people feel like talking to me?]
[Jinzhou Phoenix] [Perhaps, Genius. Would you be interested in helping Jinzhou?]
[Genius #85] [Helping Jinzhou? Not that it can't be done. I just have no reference data. Besides I also need to finish making my own miniature simulated universe for calculation power.]
[Chat Group Automation] [New terms will automatically be translated into something understandable for all members. ]
[Introduction to the Simulated Universe.pdf]
[The Doctor] [This is a bit... what's the word that young lady uses? Ah yes, broken?]
[Doujin Artist] [Truly fit to be called a Genius, would you perhaps be able to help with homework?]
[Genius #85] [If you don't want to think that's easy but... In which case wouldn't it better to live without it? If there's one thing I hate, it's idiots. Idiots don't think or learn. There's nothing more precious for a genius than failure.]
[Doujin Artist] [So that's a no...]
[Genius #85] [ Just send them I can at best give clues.]
[Jinzhou Phoenix] [Black Shores Tacit Field Research.zip]
[Genius #85] [And? What will you exchange for this? I can 100% guarantee that this problem will be solved eventually.]
[Jinzhou Phoenix] [Rare minerals and research papers on any subject you are interested in. I'm sure that your curiosity has already hooked you in no? You just want an excuse to accept.]
[Genius #85] [I'll slide your issue to the top of the waiting list after my project finishes]
Charlie sighed as he stared off into space, frankly when he first came here he was lost and helpless. If not for the help of the Luofu he wouldn't even be here in the first place.
He had been tossed straight into a war of abundance creatures. It was then he realised where he was and what to expect. He sighed thinking if only he had become a genius earlier. He would have come up with a way to save Baiheng and fix the problems of his old friends.
But by then he was desperately searching for ways to extend his life. He had his own problems and left the Luofu only to hear about the news later on. And he was selfish, turning away from the past. Putting the distance between Genius #85 and the Charlie in the past.
...
[Genius #85] [Apologies, you're issue has been moved down the priority list. I have a pressing matter to attend to.]
He immediately started thinking. The biggest issue was mara and the death of Baiheng. A way to fix mara had not been found in many amber eras. Perhaps it was time to start now.
The ability that had been helping him this entire time was Curio Creation. He could create curios as long as he had unlocked a development path. And for now, he would have to walk down the life sciences route.
[Charlie] [Ruan Mei, I need any information and past research papers on Xianzhou mara cases.]
[Ruan Mei] [1324089.zip]
[Charlie] [Thanks]
And for the long standing issue of mara, Charlie began to tinker and think.
A few proposed solutions had already appeared although the feasibility was questionable. If mara is truly set off by excess memory, then A remove memory delete excess memories. Or, B, expand the capacity for memories.
A, was an option that many already took but it was temporary and it took something important from the person.
B was also a temporary fix as eventually storage would be full.
If we think of mara as the stage when a computer's storage is filled and it's operations begin to bug or glitch then there must be a method that can resolve both issues while maintaining the files.
Another idea sprouted but was quickly dismissed due to invasion of privacy.
The a sudden brilliant onslaught of a light shone within his neurons. A sudden burst of inspiration from Lord of Mysteries. If you think of mara as a form of corruption, then fight corruption with corruption.
Immediately he started thinking about the feasibility, it is feasible to some extent. And there was immediately two candidates for a counter corruption. A, Nihility, B Destruction. Nihility had a lower feasibility due to the nature of nullifying path effects. And due to the question of how you would go extract essence of nihility.
But destruction could perhaps work. If you think about it, the blessing of abundance is always with the Xianzhou people, so even if they don't need it, they are getting overclocked with abundance from the get-go. Meaning their cpu and gpu is always operating at 100%, and mara is simply the overheating. And it makes sense as it gets worse the more you live.
Perhaps people with strong minds and bodies can withstand it but that would be because the pc specs are better. Which is also a natural observation as there is direct correlation but no proven conjecture.
So if he could introduce destruction in amounts that the body can tolerate to reduce the operating power of the blessing to a manageable amount that the pc can continueously operate at then wouldn't the issue of mara be gone?
Even for those who have started falling into mara, it would still be viable as long as the critical point isn't crossed.
Immediately Charlie grabbed his phone and sent a message.
[Charlie] [I'm coming to visit, I also want access to the Shackling Prison, I want to experiment on those about to become mara-struck]
[Jing Yuan-yuan] [????]
[Charlie] [I want to make amends for running away back then. Now that I have the capability I want to try repay the kindness the Xianzhou have shown me back then. I want to bring the six of us back together.]
[Jing Yuan-yuan] [What are you planning?]
[Charlie] [Curing mara and bringing Baiheng back]
[Jing Yuan-yuan] [Let's come have a face-to-face talk, this is a serious matter. I assume you can present a reasonable hypothesis?]
Jing Yuan sighed as he sat at his desk, his old friend, silent for so long had suddenly sent him a message asking for permission for human experimentation. Saying that he could potentially fix mara, wanting to bring back the cloud quintet and an extra genius.
He waited for the response after asking for a face-to-face talk. The door to his office suddenly opened as a familiar voice spoke.
"A few hundred years ago I'd understand. But now? Don't you think you're underestimating a genius Yuan-yuan?"
Genius #85 had arrived on the Xianzhou Loufu.
