My eyes darted behind him and I thought I saw Eden. But he was gone so fast it was almost as though he wasn't there.
I blinked, the effect of shock finally clearing from my system and then I saw who it was that caught me...red eyes.
I pushed him off.
"I'm sorry, I have to get going." Then I turned and continued down the stairs in haste.
I got out of the school and ran over to the side where the monster had jumped out from. There were shards of glasses on the floor.
I walked closer to it, my heart in my chest and my feet so rigid it almost didn't move when I tried.
I bent down and picked up one of the shards gingerly, careful that it didn't tear my flesh. I moved it around, examining it. Then I saw a crimson red stain on one edge of the shard.
I had to get it checked. But the lab was too far from school and keeping it would contaminate it.
