Emma couldn't hide her excitement. She hadn't expected Gabe to be this outstanding.
Before the teacher could even call, Alex called first.
"First place."
"What?" Emma quickly covered her mouth to stop herself from shouting.
"First. Gabe scored 701. He ranked first in New York and is also the top scorer in the entire province."
"AAAAAA."
Emma could no longer hold back. She handed the phone to her brother. "Alex says you ranked first. Little brother, you're the top scorer. You're the top scorer of New York."
Gabe felt his head spinning, his limbs going weak. He couldn't quite believe his ears.
"Sis. Brother-in-law. I'm the top scorer."
Alex's warm, smiling voice came through the phone. "Yes. I already checked for you. First place. 701 points. Gabe, once you finish getting your driver's license, just go to my garage and pick a car."
Gabe was overjoyed and threw his head back in laughter.
