An unexpected reunion.
Today, Addison did not drive. She was standing in the lobby waiting for the family driver to pick her up when Jonathan rushed over in time. His hair, usually neatly styled, was slightly disheveled from the haste. His breathing was a little quick, and instinctively, he grabbed Addison's wrist.
Addison tilted her hand slightly and pulled it out of his grasp.
"Mr. Knight."
Jonathan frowned. He did not like this form of address at all.
"Addison, we don't need to be so distant."
"Miss, the road ahead is congested. I apologize for arriving late."
Addison nodded lightly, her smile calm and graceful.
"It's all right. You arrived just in time."
The black car drove away, leaving Jonathan standing there with his lips tightly pressed together.
If he had forcibly dragged her into the car, he would probably have gotten slapped a few more times.
