INT. MIDDLE OF THE CITY STREET - MORNING, NOVEMBER 3, 2025, 4:45 A.M.
The woman stumbled backwards, blood flowing down her nose as it lay crooked. Catching her balance, she couldn't help but smile. Catching her balance, she looked at Gabriel licking the blood off her lips. "And here I was led to believe that you were a weakling, my color impressed", She smirked.
"We can end this right here with no issues, and I won't have to arrest you.", Gabriel demanded, Echo floating behind him menacingly.
"Oh, I'm so scared", The woman mocked before disappearing in a flock of bird feathers. Before Gabriel could turn around, the woman appeared behind him and kicked him in the back. Sending him forward. Echo tried to catch her, but she disappeared. Appearing once again in the path that Gabriel was falling, punching him in the jaw, sending him sprawling on the ground. "Ouch, that one looks like it had to hurt."
Gabriel laid stunned on the ground for a second, rubbing his jaw after she just punched it. He thought to himself, "I would have been knocked out cold if I hadn't gotten a little stronger during the last week."
"Awww, come on, that was just a love tap, don't tell me you're down for the count already", She goaded, her tone taking on a weird mix of mocking and flirting.
Gabriel climbed to his feet, his jaw still sore as he stared at her. "Listen, lady."
"My name's Rayen", Rayen interrupted, Gabriel doing a slight bow as she introduced herself.
"Rayen then why the hell did you attack me?"
Rayen cocked her head to the side. "What's the fun in my giving you the answer so easily?"
Gabriel threw his hands up in the air in frustration. "Rayen, I genuinely don't want an issue, I just want to finish up at the crime scene and go home."
"Well, then, let me offer you a little help. I was the one who helped drop the bodies off at city hall this morning.", Rayen told Gabriel. His facial expression turned serious after she finished her words. "Oh, now you're starting to become serious, I love that look so much."
"I guess you'll love this to bitch.", Nadia's voice yelled, talking Rayen from the back. Before they landed on the ground, Rayen turned into a flock of bird feathers. Nadia rolled to her feet instead of landing on the ground awkwardly.
Gabriel was on guard because he anticipated that she would be teleported. He saw running in behind her while he was talking, so he tried to keep her distracted. He kept moving his head side to side, looking for any instance of her appearing. Echo quickly flew above Gabriel's head, a shield appearing as it blocked Rayen's kicks aimed at him.
Rayen once again turned into bird feathers before appearing next to Gabriel, the nails on her hand long, sharp. Similar to what would be found on a bird's foot. Gabriel didn't dodge in time as the right side of his jacket was ripped, blood flying through the air. Gabriel clenched his side in pain as Rayen disappeared once again.
Rayen appeared next to Nadia, who was able to parry the slash at her neck. Rayen tried to kick her, but Nadia ducked under the kick. Countering with a hook to the stomach. Rayen coughed up a ton of spit as the hit landed with a lot of force. Nadia's aura started turning purple as she added energy to her attacks.
Moving quicker than before, Nadia hit her with a combo of punches and kicks that Rayen didn't have a chance to get out of. With a final roundhouse kick to the side of Rayen's head, Nadia landed on the ground. Breathing slightly heavily as Rayen's body went sprawling onto the ground.
Gabriel came limping up, hold his side that was now dripping with blood as he came to stand next to Nadia. "Thanks for the assist, you have any idea where Blake is?"
"Yeah, I told him I'd help you so he could stay and take care of the crime scene.", Nadia replied.
"Ahh you just didn't want to see all the dead bodies again."
"I did not want to see the dead bodies again", Nadia agreed.
Gabriel groaned in frustration, as he saw Rayen slowly getting back to her feet. "Ugh does she not know how to stay down."
Nadia just shrugged. "I'm still just wondering why she attacked you in the first place."
"Apparently she has some connections with the person who placed the body parts at the city hall.", Gabriel answered.
"Yeah still doesn't make sense.", Nadia commented
"No, no it doesn't at all.", Gabriel said.
The conversation comes to a halt as Rayen finally gets to her feet, the smile on her face long gone. Rayen slashed at the air with her claws, five gusts of wind cutting through the air it flew at Gabriel and Nadia. Echo quickly threw up a shield that blocked the attack, though Nadia and Gabriel had to cover their eyes from the wind kicked up. When it cleared up, she was a feather on the ground.
"You guys should be more aware of your surroundings.", Rayen growled as she appeared behind Naida, kicking her in the back. Nadia sprawled to the ground
Rayen once again disappeared, but Gabriel was able to block the attack aimed at his head. Though his arms were cut by the long claws on her hands, drawing blood on his forearms. The sting of the cold air in the wounds as he stumbled backwards. Rayen gripped the air, then pulled arm back. A sudden force pushed Gabriel forward into a punch to the face.
A tooth went flying in the air as Gabriel flew to the ground on all fours. The punch knocked him for a loop as Rayen stood over him. Thankfully Echo came to the rescue as casted a shield around Gabriel blocking the ensuing kick Rayen had aimed at her stomach. Nadia getting back to her feet, her purple aura glowing brightly rolled over the shield hit Rayen in the chest with a kick.
Rayen was pushed backwards, a frown on her face. "I don't know who you are, I was given no information on you. I was told to fight Gabriel, and that a fat man would be there to back him up."
Nadia let out a loud laugh, bending over as soon as Rayen finished talking. "Aww man, that is a good one calling Blake the fat man. I'm totally stealing that name from you."
Echo removed its shield from Gabriel as he got to his feet. Echo floating behind Gabriel as he stood next to Nadia. "Can we not, yeah, know make jokes right now."
"Oh come on Gabs don't Mr.grumpy pants again, Fatman is an amazing nickname for the old man.", Nadia refuted.
"Honestly, calling someone 'fatman' isn't nice."
"So calling someone like Blake, who loves to make fun of people, by the way. Names isn't nice. That's rich coming from you," Nadia argued.
Gabriel went to open up his mouth, then closed it as he took in Nadia's argument. "Actually, you're right I take back everything I said."
Naida nodded sagely, "See, I knew you'd see things my way, eventually."
"Are you two done yet?", Rayen asked, ignoring the duo as she studied her nails. "No, seriously, I don't have anything going on, so I'm okay waiting for you two to finish."
Gabriel and Nadia looked at each other, communicating using their eyes. After a moment, Nadia broke eye contact first. "Yeah, we're all good now." With Gabriel nodding in agreement, not saying anything.
Rayen straightened up. "Nice so I can go ahead and kick both of your guys asses then head home.",She cheered.
"You can try", Nadia mumbled, her purple aura coming back brightly in the night.
"Oh, I'm so excited to see more of your strength, that aura is to die for.", Rayen cackled, her long tongue running over her lips.
"Yeah, gotta admit that's pretty creepy", Gabriel spoke up.
Rayen just let out a snort as she disappeared, reappearing next Gabriel on the right. Gabriel went to punch her, but she already teleported a kick aimed at Nadia's face. Nadia leaned back out of the way. Using her upper body, she tried to aim a kick into Rayen's face, though Rayen teleported out of the way.
Forming a gun in his hand, once he saw Rayen appear in front of him, he aimed at her stomach. Attempting to shoot her before she could land an attack on her. Her stomach turned into feathers as the bullet went completely through her body. "Oh, now that's just cheating", Gabriel muttered to himself. Echo caught the kick aimed at his hand, holding Rayen's foot in a firm grasp.
Echo then swung Rayen around in a circle, letting her go, her body flying towards Nadia. Nadia's aura glowed brightly purple as she jumped in the air, doing a spin kick that hit Rayen in the face. Rayne's entire body went flying toward a car, head first. A loud bang heard as she got stuck in the side door.
"Haha, fuck yeah, I call that a home run.", Nadia cheered as she landed on her feet.
"Ugh, I gave it maybe a three base run, didn't go fair enough.", Gabriel argued.
Nadia crossed her arms in a hmph. "You are just a hater!"
"Meh, you call it hating, I call it being realistic," Gabriel replied, taking a pause here as he looked at the lady's body sticking out of the car. "Do you think I'll be able to turn into light like that?"
"You mean like the weird teleporting thing she's able to do?"
"Yeah, when I tried to shoot her, she was able to turn part of her stomach into feathers, dodging the attack," Gabriel explained.
Nadia shrugged in response. "I mean maybe you could, since your abilities are made of light I don't see why you can't turn into particles."
"Something to work on in the future", He mused.
A wet drop fell on his face as he looked up and saw snow falling to the ground. The chill came into his side as he remembered the wounds that were bleeding. Forgotten amidst the thrill of battle. In the distance, he could hear a loud groan. Rayen is trying to do her best to pull her head out of the side of the car door.
