It seem that I wasn't the only one who was troubled by this realization, Tatsuya seemed to glaring at me mentally, but on the surface he squinted his eyes slightly and that was all there to it .
I on the other hand wasn't as good as him in this depart, but still I didn't much other than a little bit of surprise, but where were we, of course it was caught by The iron maiden of the Public Morals Committee Mari and the big guy from the School Club Managing Committee, but the first was more provocative than the latter .
She stood up from her seat and smacked the table we sat on with her hand then said :
I believe this is enough to accuse one of you two with a violation of using Magic on the school grounds, but here's the thing, even with all the research we did, we still aren't able to figure what exactly did you do .
Then the student council president interfered and continued from where Mari-senpai stopped, she said :
So if you two could be kind enough to tell us what exactly did you used and what was the truth regarding the reason that forced you to use such a dangerous magic, we will very much appreciate it .
Juumonji Katsuto, the president of Club Management Committee nodded at this and that was all that he did, it seem that he was a man with few words, the one who seemed to be on the opposite side to him, was the guy with brown hair that had kept on staring at Tatsuya the wrong way since he entered the room, he said :
It's one thing that a course 1 student like Yotsuba-san is being suspected, but I hope to clarify that a heavy punishment might be endowed on all the Course 2 students that may share some part of the responsibility .
That guy's words managed to piss me off, inequality treatment, that was a clear sign of how bad this system and how bad influence it was on all the school, a Course 1 student might even be able to break the laws and rules of the school as he liked and all that awaited him was a warning .
But in case the culprit was from Course 2, then he might get suspended for a few days, making him lag behind others, heck, the penalty might end up making him fail a year or in other severe cases, he might get expelled from the school directly .
I couldn't help but glare at the brown haired guy who said this and it seem that my urges were on once again, he seeing the look in my eyes, shuddered slightly and took a step back in retreat while looking quite bewildered at what was going on, his expression turned a bit ugly .
But that guy seem to be quite determined on asking for trouble, he began releasing his magic and it seem that ge was quite proficient in QuickDraw as he had already entered the magic sequence in his CAD, ready for anything to come .
Weirdly enough I was able to figure out that the target of the wind blade that he was about to release didn't had me labeled as a target, but labeled Tatsuya as the target, I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at that, just as the situation seemed to be escalating, the silent big guy on the side, released his Magic power as well and all he said was :
Hattori, stand down .
Hattori looked a bit aggravated by this, but he seemed to know better than to argue, especially after the student council president also interfered and told him that there was no reason for the escalation, calling him with yet another name, she called him Hanzou, which was bewildering to me this time, wondering why this guy had two different names .
But then I was able to see that his face become a bit ugly as he was called Hanzou, then all the eyes in the room turned towards me, I stood up from my seat and had the urge to get out of the room before I may do something, I might regret later .
But just as I turned and was about to head out, two girls were blocking my way, well three girls, if I were to also consider adding Mari-senpai who had a weird expression on her face to the mix, the other two girls were Miyuki and Juvia who I wasn't able to see in the room as I came in .
They looked bewildered at how the current scene turned out to be, they stood there looking at us and wondering what was wrong, at least that what the looks on their faces could be interpreted as, perhaps .
How about we all calm down here for a second, Juvia-san, Miyuki-san, it's good to have you back please have a seat .
The two girls did as were told, Juvia and Miyuki sudden appearance calmed me down slightly, but I still no longer cared about what might be this discussion about, I also no longer cared about whether I will be able to join the Public Morals Committee, if I wasn't able to be a Justice's Executive, then I might as well be some kind of a vigilante and do what I saw right .
As I was thinking of that, Mari-senpai then passed by me and as she passed by me she said in a whispering like voice :
You don't need to be so worked up over this, we are just trying to understand what happened yesterday and make sure that it won't happen again, forget about Hattori's words, he might sound like an arrogant guy, but he just like an old soldier who prefer to stick to the rules, so don't mind him .
Hearing her say this, quenched the last bit of anger that was in my chest, I found myself having a seat once again and I didn't know how but Juvia or maybe Miyuki managed to convince the other senpais in the room to exchange their seats with them .
I was now sitting between Mari-senpai and Juvia, while Tatsuya was in much a tighter position, sitting next to that Juumonji Katsuto, who still even now look like he wanted someone to beat him and to his left was Miyuki, Hattori finding no vacant seat for him on the table stood behind the student council president chair at the head of the table .
I saw that he seemed to be squinting his eyes at Tatsuya, but for the first time he seemed to be squinting his eyes at me after taking a brief look at how Saegusa Mayumi was looking at me .
It wasn't like she was the only one, most of the people in the room were still looking at me and seemed to be waiting for me to explain what had happened, seeing that this topic won't be dropped, I nodded my head and said :
" I did indeed used Magic to stop the escalation between the Course 1 and Course 2 students yesterday, but it wasn't magic that had that much an impact on the magicians in the scene at that time, maybe it have a slight bit of an impact, but that was all .
I wanted to say that it had no actual impact, but on the screen behind us, images of some of the guys from yesterday suffering from having difficulty in breathing, so I understood that it was better to come clean about all the facts as to not make the situation worse .
" But I would still like for you to let this matter go this time, the magic they were about to unleash at one another wasn't lethal, also some people who were witnessing that incident at that time were merely trying deescalate things between the two sides .
After I had finished explaining what had happened briefly yesterday, I was able to see that they were still waiting for me to continue say anything about the nature of the magic I had used, seeing no harm in telling them more details, I said :
" It's my Supernatural magic .
As I said this the expression on all their faces turned to be that of shock, there were some people feign ignorance, so they still had to act surprise like the rest of the people present, after I finished saying all I have to say, I slumbered to my chair and gave them time to digest everything that I had said .
After a while, they seemed to have came to a conclusion and I saw the student council president looked at me and said :
Sinceyouare also a member of the Ten Master Clans, I would like to hear your thoughts about how we should deal with the situation first .
Figured that it would still come to this, this was my mother told me before about how the situation in first high was ' Special ', here the people from the Ten Master Clans are the people who hold actual authority on the life of the students, but that work in my favor as well, releasing a sigh, I said :
" Well, I would like it if the whole situation just was moved out of the way, but some of you here might not like it, so in accordance to the rules of the school, I would bear all the blame this time and even though I know some of you won't like this, I believe that all of you should be aware of what that entailed .
The person who glared at me for saying this instantly was the Iron maiden Mari-senpai, she was one of maybe a few people in this whole school who believed that justice need to prevail, I completely endorsed her enthusiasm and maybe shared some of it, but my justice was a bit more flexible than hers, she wanted to solve the issue with the students in the school .
I on the other hand wanted to fix the problems which allowed these issues to begin with, we had the same possible goal, but we adapt different line of thoughts, her anger at me this time was justifiable, my words meant that I from the Yotsuba Family will bear the blame, but who dare to put a blame on a Yotsuba, so no punishment were to be endowed .
That what made her become so angry, she crossed her arms and seemed to be incredibly unhappy with this arrangement and even though I didn't like it to go like this, sure enough after the student council president seemed to have expected it, Juumonji Katsuto was too, she finally give her final judgement and declared that this matter had ended with no punishment endowed .
Then and without any warning, a letter was presented to all of us, well I didn't get one from the secretary who was responsible for distributing them for some reason, but neither did Tatsuya, even Juvia got one surprisingly .
I saw that as they opened the letter in front of them, there was a slight fluctuation in all of their expressions, I couldn't help but sneak a peak at what Juvia's paper was saying, I saw that it was surprisingly a nomination for a job, the job was president of Public Morals Committee, the two people that were nominated were me and the current president of the Public Morals Committee .
Looking to my left, I saw Mari Watanabe looking at the student council president with the paper in hand, the latter didn't know what to say she just looked apologetically at her friend then looked at me and gave me a forced smile before saying :
I know that all of you are more or less confused about what's going on, but let's first welcome our new second secretary, Juvia-san .
With the same forced smile, she tried to alleviate the tension in the room, but sadly her actions did not help much with the current situation, so in the end she just gave up and as if she had already made up her mind, she said :
I believe that all of you here know what do with the nomination card in front of you, the person who you believed should continue to act as the Public Morals Committee from here on out, you should vote for whoever you believe will do a good job, start .
Without giving any chance for anyone to ask or say anything, she declared the start of this small election here, but just as I saw Miyuki and Juvia already selecting me, I couldn't help but nudge the completely out of it Mari-senpai in the side, trying to gain her attention, my actions caught her attention and the attention of others as well, but I didn't gave that much a thought, I said :
" I know that you are unhappy with me for all of this, but I would like to ask if it would be possible to start as a small underling under you instead of suddenly becoming the president, what do you think ? .
She looked at me as if she was looking at someone who was crazy and said :
I believe that after a few seconds, there won't be any reason for that ? .
" You may think that, but I would still like to believe that there will always be a way out, so what do you say ? .
She didn't respond and I didn't try to push her to, I just rested my shoulder on the chair and closed my eyes, after a minute or two, I opened my eyes once there was no reason for me to continue playing dead, the time to count the votes for the nomination came, there were currently 8 people in the room, each of the 8 people had one vote .
Ichihara Suzune, Nakajou Azusa, Hattori Hanzo, Juumonji Katsuto, Saegusa Mayumi, Miyuki, Juvia, lastly Mari Watanabe, those were the people who had the right to vote, Azusa-senpai was the one responsible for collecting and counting the votes, after a while, the results of the vote came out, 4 to me, 3 to Mari-senpai, one vote seemed to have refrained from voting and I know who exactly she was .
After the results were released, the girl beside me seemed to be having some hard time in accepting this kind of development, seeing her like this, I couldn't help but look at our student council president who had refrained from voting just now and her one vote could have made this situation reach a stalemate, but for some reason she wasn't able to, even though the decision was quite easy to take .
She should have chosen her friend over someone she barely know, but the results were already like this, so any complains now wouldn't be worth much, I cut her off just as I saw Mari-senpai about to abdicate her position to me and said :
" Well then, I'm thankful to all of you who had given me their votes, but I refuse this Job Offer .
