Claudia turned to him slowly, her gaze steady. "For you," she said. "It's always been you."
Charles stared at her, then let out a breath. He shook his head in disbelief. "I could never be with that level of crazy," he said. He reached out without thinking and placed a hand on Claudia's shoulder, his thumb moving in a small, absent-minded circle. "I always knew Vivienne was… unstable. Ambitious. But this?" He swallowed. "This is monstrous."
Eric watched the gesture, the intimacy of it, with narrowed eyes. Then he drawled, "Look at that. You're quite the catch."
Charles stiffened slightly, his hand falling away. "Alpha… I know me being with your mother—"
Eric raised a finger instantly. "Nope. Stop. I don't want to know. I really, really don't." He dragged a hand down his face. "Can we focus on Sera? Please? Before I have to bleach my brain?"
"No," Claudia said, firm as stone.
Both men turned to her.
"I will focus on Sera," she continued. "You focus on Delilah."
