Claudia went still. Her face emptied. Her lips parted. Her eyes widened. And a smile broke across her face so suddenly it almost startled Charles. "It worked!" she breathed. "It worked! Oh my Goddess!" She clasped her hands together, laughter bubbling out of her chest. "I cannot believe it worked!"
"Like I said, I think. I'm not one hundred percent sure." Charles lifted a brow. "What do you mean by it worked?"
"Let's just say," she replied, "I meddled. A lot. And leave it at that."
"You're a crazy woman."
"I know." She laughed too.
Charles shook his head, still smiling despite the storm around them.
"I have to go," she said suddenly. "I have to see her."
"Sera?" Charles asked.
"Of course Sera," she shot back gently.
"How's the driver I got you?" he asked, as they began moving toward the foyer. "Is he doing alright?"
Claudia waved a dismissive hand. "Of course. You are a gem, Charles."
