"Great. Another reminder that I am just a puny human," she muttered. "As Eric would say."
"Your wolf will be back," Claudia said firmly, placing both hands on Sera's shoulders now. "She just needs time to recover. You've been fed wolfsbane for nineteen years, love—it's only natural that she is broken. I see you stopped dying your hair." Her gaze softened at the sight of Sera's black hair fading into brown.
"Yeah. But the whites aren't showing yet." Sera sighed. Her fingers drifted to the strands at her temples, pushing aside the curtain of brown that she had stopped poisoning with dye.
"Give it time," Claudia said gently and turned toward the kitchen.
The handle of the front door turned.
Vivienne stepped inside. Her heels clicked once against the floor and then stopped when her gaze landed on Claudia.
For a split second, surprise flickered across her features.
"What the hell are you doing here?!" Claudia thundered, already moving.
